Shailesh Sharma at Half Moon Dental Care in Herne Hill is good. Really put my 4 year old at ease.

I saw this http://www.playpennies.com/life-hack-lego-storage-solution-120056 and thought it was quite a good idea.

I have a couple of carrier bags worth of boys clothes (9-12 months) to donate but my the places I usually give to don't currently have a need or storage facilities. I am moving imminently and can't hang on to them myself. Does anyone know of any charities which may want them?

Thanks both. I lived in Sydney for a while (about 15 years ago, pre-kids) so have some ideas on the CBD, train stations in that area etc. (used to work near Wynyard so know around there pretty well). A friend of the family lives in Mosman, Strawbs and it looks really lovely - bit too far away for us work-wise though. No idea on location of temp accommodation at the moment as all being arranged via husband's work as he is transferring office. Would presume it will be near-ish to where they are based though. khind - thanks for that info. We were actually looking at all of those suburbs on the train map last night! I think the North Shore will be where we start off. I was also looking at Killara as the schools look really good (my oldest is 4 so will start in Feb). -
We are moving to Sydney at the end of next month and have no idea where to base ourselves! We have two weeks accommodation sorted out when we arrive, but then need somewhere to rent for 12 months. My husband will be working at Macquarie Park, and at some point I will probably be in the CBD. If you are from Sydney, or know it well, can you give any advice on areas to consider? We aren't bothered about being too near the beach, but do need somewhere easily commutable (I don't drive), with decent public (government) schools. Somewhere like ED would be ideal! Any tips would be very gratefully received.

I have black/brown ikea laminate worktops in my kitchen, and have noticed a whiteish round mark which has appeared. It must be from a saucepan judging by the shape and size. The mark is more of a 'plume' than a full on stain, and it can only really be seen when the light catches it, but now I've seen it I'm seeing it all the time. Does anyone know of a way of staining laminate? I've had a look online and can't really find anything that seems quite right for this particular problem. Thanks

Pregnancy massage - recommendations please!
Bonfire2010 replied to melbourne groover's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I'd second Therapy. Had lovely massages there during both of my pregnancies. -
We go to Tumble sessions at the Albrighton which are free play. My sons are 1 and 4 and both enjoy it. It's on Tuesdays 10am-12pm and Thursdays 2-4pm. ?2 per child.

My 1 year old no longer uses a bottle and drinks from a doidy cup when we are at home, but I am looking for a beaker for when we are out and about. Any recommendations gratefully received as there are so many on the market!

Dermatologist recommendation required...
Bonfire2010 replied to Bonfire2010's topic in The Family Room Discussion
That's interesting bluegoo...hadn't really considered that as we don't use any bath products for either of my kids. Have been referred by my GP who assures me we will be seen quickly. The GPs at our practice can't agree on what is wrong. Fingers crossed we get things sorted out quickly. -

Nursery recommendations - Camberwell
Bonfire2010 replied to klh's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We are in Camberwell and our son goes to Mother Goose on Greendale, SE5 (behind Sainsbury's). He's 4 now and has been going since he was 9 months old. He has been well looked after there and we have been happy with the care he has received. It opens at 7.30am and closes at 6.30pm. -
really good highlights wanted
Bonfire2010 replied to midivydale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Kuki hair on Bellenden Road. I have been getting my highlights done by Pauline (one of the owners) since they opened but have also had my hair done by the other stylists on the odd occasion and they are all good. If you do a search you will see they have a lot of recommendations on here (including from me). They have a new website www.kukihair.com -
What time is your child's nap?
Bonfire2010 replied to yeknomyeknom's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Morning groups are useless to us at the moment. My one year old wakes up early and needs a nap by 9.30am - and can generally sleep through until lunch. He also needs an hour in the afternoon at around 3.30pm (although he is fighting this more now so I think he'll drop it in the next while). My oldest (now 4) slept from 10-11am and 3-4pm each day until he was 2ish. You could set your watch by him. -
Looking for childrens birthday party venues
Bonfire2010 replied to Pricey75's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We recently had a party for our 4 year old at Albrighton Community Centre. It was ?50 for 2 hours and we paid an extra ?40 to hire their soft play equipment, which they set up for us. The use of the kitchen, tables and chairs was included in the hall hire cost, as was 30 mins either side for us to decorate/tidy up. I can't find their website, but there are details on their Facebook page (they call it a Tumble party). -
These people https://www.bemybear.com have come to a Christmas family day that my firm runs for the last few years. The people who organise it seem very nice and there are some choices of what to make - last year my (then) 3 year old made a footballer bear, and this year he made a turtle and they made my youngest (1 year) a puppy. I have no idea of costs etc. as it was organised through my firm, but it might give you some ideas.

Meningitis B and Chicken Pox vaccines
Bonfire2010 replied to tarafitness's topic in The Family Room Discussion
It's definitely 1 year plus. Got my oldest son done at the South London Travel Centre (has mixed reviews on here but we found them to be fine when we went) and am getting my youngest done in a few weeks after he turns 1. It's 2 jabs, a few weeks apart from memory.
