  1. Hi - has anyone tried one of these? We are off to Australia in August, stopping in Singapore on the way there and back for a night and I am thinking of getting one of these for my son who will be 20 months by then. Does anyone have any thoughts on them (are they worth buying) and if so, what sort of age does it fit up to as there isn't much guidance on the jojo website? My son isn't that tall (usually fits into 18 month old sizes)so am wondering if it might be OK for him.
  2. Fab - thanksxx
  3. Hi - I'm looking for ear defenders to fit a 20 month old. JoJo Maman only seem to do them for up to 6 months and Mothercare don't sell them, has anyone got any ideas of where to buy? Thanks!
  4. Not useful, but we sent our niece (in Melbourne) a Paddington Bear from Hamleys when she was little. He 'visited' us on trips to London with her as she got older and she still has him now (she's 15). Also, they don't have BabyGap/Gap Kids over there so clothes from there have always gone down well with our family (as have M&S things as also not over there).
  5. Baked beans (low salt & sugar version), alphabetti spaghetti, sausages (skins off, rolled into meatballs), fishfingers, pasta with ready-made pesto. Also Jamie Oliver's 'Little Meals' are handy - mini-bonfire likes the Salmon & Broccoli pie and the 'Yummy Pollack Fish Pie'. I've tried and failed to find the risotto balls in Sainsburys - can anyone direct me to where they are?
  6. Thanks to you both! Mima08 - that would be great, thanks so much.
  7. Can anyone recommend one (and things to do)? Thanks x
  8. Has anyone got any experience of flying with Qatar Airways? We are going to Melbourne in August with our son (who will be 21 months by then) and I'm wondering who the best airline to go with is. I know it's not going to be much fun anyway....
  9. Pos Gap Kids or M&S? JoJo Maman on Lordship Lane probably do them and I'd give Sainsbury's a try too.
  10. We send our 14 month old son and we are all very happy! I went back to work full time a few weeks ago and they are very good at distracting him when I leave, and I feel much happier knowing he's there. There are lots of threads on Mother Goose if you do a search.
  11. Thanks all! I did try having a bath with him, but he just used me as a climbing frame to get out...will try leaving it for a few days and see what happens.
  12. My 14 month old used to love his bath, but for the last 4 nights has screamed the place down as soon as he sees the water and once in, tries to climb out and gets very very upset. Any ideas on what we can do to help him enjoy bathtime again?
  13. We did/are doing BLW and would highly recommend it. I would go for the Baby Led Weaning Cookbook as it gives you the principals plus some recipes which are handy to start you off. In the meantime you can also get some ideas/hints/tips here
  14. I used ASDA a few times, but stopped when I was verbally abused by the delivery driver for asking him to help me lift the bags into the hall when I was 40+5 weeks pregnant. Have used Sainsburys for ages with not too many issues. If they are late you get ?10 off of your next shop.
  15. We pre-made 12 hours worth of feeds (so about 3-4 bottles) using boiled water that had been cooled for 25-30 mins. These were then stored in the back of the fridge and reheated using a bottle warmer. We never reheated feeds twice and always discarded any feeds that were over 12 hours old. I went by the Food Standards Agency guidelines here ('When it is not practical to make up feeds just before feeding'.
  16. Brilliant, thanks all. Xx
  17. Looking for ideas for books to give to my ballet mad 13 year old niece for Christmas. Any suggestions appreciated..
  18. Me again! I use toujours (saw they had been voted best nappies in a mumsnet poll) and have found them very good. Nice and thick, plus go high up at the back to catch any ' overflow'.. Also v. reasonably priced.
  19. Obviously, all just in my opinion but... I bought a pack - never again! They were very thin and flimsy, and a good proportion of them leaked (and not just a little bit either). One of their selling points is that you can return any packs you don't use, but when I looked into doing so it would have cost around ?10. As you get ?6.66 back per pack, and I was sending two, it would have meant I'd only have got a few quid back. Not really worth the effort of lugging them up to the post office with a toddler in tow. I was given pretty short shrift by kiddicare customer services, and funnily enough my 1 star review never seemed to make it to the website! All just what my experience was like though..I'm sure others will have thought they were great!
  20. I used paspic as well when my son was 10 weeks old and would also recommend.
  21. Just by way of an update, the course of antibiotics finished on Thursday night and we put a thin layer of Metanium on at bedtime last night. This morning the rash has virtually gone - whoo hoo! So, I am pretty sure it must have been related to the antibiotics. Thanks again to all of you - you are all fab for giving me so much advice!
  22. Wow! Thanks to you all for the advice! The rash seems a little better today but have bought some Metanium to try over the weekend. If no joy by Monday I shall try the other suggestions and take him to the doctor if no improvement.
  23. Thanks all - I shall hotfoot it to the chemist in the morning and get some Metanuim! Pretty sure it's not thrush (at this stage) as no white rings. He finished the antibiotics tonight so hopefully that will also have an effect.
  24. Can anyone recommend something for very angry looking nappy rash? Mini-Bonfire has been on antibiotics for the past 2 weeks which has resulted in the worst nappy rash he's ever had (although it doesn't seem to bother him until we change him). We're coating him in Sudocreme at the moment, but I just can't face another trip to the doctors as I am sure they must be starting to think I'm a nut job :(
  25. Thanks all - have now organised something.
