  1. Blimey, I wasn't criticising computedshortly on attending that service - my Dad is at a similar one for survivors of the Arctic Convoys tomorrow. Just couldn't see the link between him being there and his views on street art - sorry for any offence *retires bruised*
  2. So computedshortly what relevance does that have to your views on street art?
  3. My cats always had bells on and were forever bringing home birds and mice....
  4. Are you sure about that?
  5. What Vik said.
  6. Either state the name and company, or be quiet - this is such an unhelpful post!

  8. Rye Lane is great for vegetables but you need to know what you want, what good vegetables look like and pick them yourself. Don't expect nice smiley service at first but if you go back to the same place a few times they will recognise you and be lovely.
  9. I don't have any problem with DMC on Chadwick Road (yes, I know, that's in Peckham) - and I know Dr Cunnginham is part time there so operhaps her other days she spends at Crystal Palace Road?
  10. Couldn't have said it better myself! Or at least, this is what I did say in 2011 - http://peckhamryeeats.blogspot.co.uk/2011/07/living-on-peckham-rye.html
  11. It has already started - Peckham Rye to Shoreditch High Street Station - 20 minutes. Goes the other way to Clapham Junction now as well.
  12. Peckham is rapidly acquiring a reputation for artists/theatre and performance, which will only be enhanced by the opening of the new Overground link from Peckham Rye Station which brings us within 20 minutes of Shoreditch!
  13. I live on the Nunhead side of Peckham Rye and love it. I live in a modern block of flats on the third floor and look out over the common. Lordship Lane, Nunhead and Rye Lane are all minutes away and I love them all for different reasons. It'sa a great area to be i because so many different kinds of shops and restaurants are within reach.
  14. I work in Rotherhithe so this morning got the train at Peckham Rye to Rotherhithe - took me just under 15 minutes compared to 35 minutes on a rickety, noisy, unreliable P12. I'm a convert.
  15. As an incredibly youthful 50 year old I find most pubs/bars round here are fairly age tolerant....after all, young people can't afford to live here!

Clarence making cocktails, what a lovely idea...
  17. I've seen them out too and thought what a great idea it was.
  18. I am more of a Rye Lane kind of girl actually - I was just pointing out the difference.
  19. Northcross Road market isn't about bargains, it's about artisan produce, good quality vintage, antiques and street food (very ED) - if you want 'cheap' markets then get thee to Rye Lane where fruit, veg, meat, seafood and clothes are extremely well priced.
  20. It is not necessarily the case that all the new residents will have cars...it will probably attract young professionals who will stay for a couple of years until moving on. In then block where I live every flat has an allocated space but only half of them are ever used.
  21. Camber and Rye are lovely - the cottage looks beautiful.
  22. He is still the owner, but the new management team have complete autonomy. I think he is just finding it hard to let go but he no longer has anything to do with running it or serving customers. Can we just get back to how the pub is please?
  23. Thanks for that Chase Dulwhit - seems like a sensible answer.
  24. Seeing how the sewer crosses the bottom of Peckham Rye I wonder if that has anything to do with the major works going on there at the moment?
