  1. Oh, and going on Twitter would be good, it's very active food/drink wise in SE22/SE15. I am @peckhamryeeats.
  2. Really pleased to hear that! Our last few experiences there have been awful. We would like to see decent (and not necessarily posh) food, and some real ales. It's a great space and could be a fabulous pub. Good luck!
  3. They dug a big hole, closed it off, moved further along, fenced off more of the common and are now digging even bigger shafts! Very odd....
  4. Does anyone know what's going on at the corner of Peckham Rye/Nunhead Lane? It has a notice on it saying 'Nunhead PSV site' but no idea what that means.
  5. I used to go to Lordship Lane vets and always had exemplary service - but the convenience of having a Vets 10 minutes walk across the Rye has made me switch and I was very pleased with the service I got. Not better than Lordship Lane but as good and a whole lot nearer.
  6. Nope, mine's working OK.
  7. And the two year thing has been inflicted on them from above - its not their decision.
  8. I'm at DMC Chadwick Road and have never had any problem. The receptionists are friendly, the doctors are great (and I have experienced quite a few of them)and I have even had a couple of home vists from them. It doesn't necessarily bother me that I don't see the same doctor every time but I have always found them very helpful at trying to fit you in, or suggest a phone call from the doctor.
  9. Anyway, for the record, he's twice married with four kids. And I like Grand Design and agree with Jeremy and RosieH.
  10. So sorry to hear about that, was burgled many years ago (in Edinburgh) and it is a horrible experience. I am always amazed by people who have high hedges in their front gardens - they may feel it gives them privacy but is also gives burglars privacy to get on with their work....
  11. It's also broom blossom time whichs smells similar.
  12. I have an i-phone 4s and love it, love the touch screen for texting...but I probably don't exploit the apps as much as I could.
  13. Should this post be 'pinned' (or whatever the technical term is) to the top for a while?
  14. At least now when you're on a bus you aren't thrown from one side to another as it slaloms past parked cars.
  15. And even the badlands of SE15 aren't there....
  16. I go to the Chadwick Road DMC and can usually get an appointment when I want. Perhaps Crystal Palace Road is just oversubscribed?
  17. I've got a pair of boots from R.Soles!
  18. I thought it was more to do with enabling disabled access to the Rye than being a speed bump....
  19. The Council will come and collect it I believe.
  20. Excellent! Great to have a proper chippy nearby :)
  21. You can follow me if you like @peckhamryeeats.... and then there's @foodstories and @bambuninunhead and @theoldnunshead
  22. The palm trees and olive trees have been there for years and the Palms of Peckham have become a symbol of the area. Southwark plants loads of indigenous trees and looks after them - look along Solomon's Passage round the new development.
  23. There will be a 'baby' Waitrose opening underneath the new Travellodge at The Bond, Vauxhall - in case anyone is interested....:)
  24. Went to Bambuni on the day it opened - had a great coffe and pastel de nata, bought mortadella and fresh bread and some delicious olives. It's a lovely space, great products, very reasonably priced - get on down there!
