  1. Louisa, yes JJoMD is by JS Bach. Although the whole piece is a bit long for a walk down the aisle, it's a simple, repetitive melody so your friend can probably shorten the solo violin part easily enough, assuming it's published (which I think it is). How about a bit of Vivaldi? Live music at a wedding. It's the best!
  2. They're way too cool for a website. This is not a "shop". This is a blisteringly bright white space ship descended on the salivating gelatophiles of East Dulwich. They do not "make" ice creams and sorbets. They orchestrate, meld, and tease their gorgeous magic into colourful unctuousness that toys with your tastebuds. It's something wonderful. I chucked their flyer but this gives you a taste of their exotic branding. Don't get me wrong. Their gelati are an absolute delight, the lemon sorbet so (naturally) acid it almost hurts, the pistachio the nuttiest I've ever tasted.
  3. I seem to remember that sticking flyers to lamp posts, telegraph poles, and trees is illegal.
  4. The interiors at the gelateria on East Dulwich Rd are as fabulous as the ices, and must be seen.
  5. Calling all foodies. Apparently the Saturday market at the Peckham Academy (end of Bellenden Rd) is back this weekend.
  6. Blondie's Hanging on the Telephone
  7. I agree with most of these posts. Fusion need to pull their finger out. But am I right in thinking that - dare I say it - the air conditioning is actually working at the moment? I visited the Dulwich Leisure Centre today, admitedly not the hottest day we've had recently. The nasty, portable aircon units have been removed and there was an almost decent flow from the permanent overhead jobbies. Fingers crossed they keep working through the summer.
  8. Thanks for the insightful posts, wulfhound.
  9. wulfhound, does that mean we don't need the Spine as well as the Quietway? If the latter is cheaper and serves a very similar purpose along a similar route, let Southwark plan it and implement it asap. And dump the Spine, I say.
  10. It's the similarity with the Southwark Spine, which slarti and wulfhound also note, that most disturbs me. Do central and local government (yes, Southwark will pay for some of this despite what they say) really have the money for this Quietway scheme? No.
