  1. I forget where on this forum I saw a hint that the decision on the Bakerloo line route had effectively already been taken but I do remember the Old Kent Rd route was favoured, not the Camberwell and Peckham route. Also, the most telling quote from that Standard article, which is anyway several years old now, is this: "TfL is working with Southwark and Lewisham to examine the potential for the extension 'unlocking' other developments." That last word is key. TfL and our councils appear to be more interested in serving the needs of future residents in yet-to-be-built, high-rise developments on the OKR rather than existing residents in Camberwell, Peckham, East Dulwich, etc. I really hope I'm wrong.
  2. When we popped in there a couple of months ago, they assured us they were staying but, as you say, the service yard at the back was going.
  3. By way of compensation for not getting the Bakerloo Line extension? That's nice of them.
  4. Thanks, everyone for the replies. I'm going to phone Autoglass and take it from there.
  5. Any advice on getting a very minor windscreen chip repaired, or hopefully not? I heard a very loud crack driving (in a new car!) on the motorway the other week, and expected significant damage to the windscreen caused by a stone or similar. All I found was a tiny (2mm?) chip, which really surprised me. In fact, I now wonder if it was caused by whatever hit us, but the rest of the car seems unscathed and it drives fine. Anyway, assuming the chip is new, is it worth repairing? I know it might grow and Autoglass (via my insurers) won't charge much, but still... Is it worth it? Have you experienced a loud crack, and later filled it? There, that's the smutty puns started.
  6. You are all wrong. The very best croissants I have tasted in the UK, as good as anything in France, are sold by The General Store on Bellenden Rd. Not exactly East Dulwich but worth the detour. I believe they are only available on weekends.
  7. Yup, InDesign for brochures and flyers (pretty simple), Photoshop for photos and complex imagery (difficult), Illustrator for vector graphics (fairly difficult). There's quite a lot of overlap.
  8. When I saw the subject line, I thought we were in for a great discussion about typesetting, page layouts, and semi-colon usage in the book publishing industry. Saddened, I make only one observation in a new category: Cupboards - coloured and glossy, not wood
  9. What Sue said. Sounds like you want to separate internet provision from tv service. Plusnet have always been good to me, and I see Which? are now recommending Panasonic personal video recorders over Humax. Hope this helps.
  10. Venn Rd and Voltaire Rd. That takes me back. Used to have friends there in the 80s. Another great read.
  11. Vivaldi's Four Seasonings. No, no, no, no. His violin or mandolin concertos. The slow movements should be easy to transcribe and play. Famous last words.
  12. I think they are open in the evening. Prosecco from 5pm was the promise on Sunday afternoon.
