  5. Hi my husband and son are Arsenal fans and I’d love to get them tickets for the Man City match on 15th Feb. I literally have no clue how one would go about doing this or whether it’s even possible. I went on Arsenal website and it seemed to say I need to be a member? There are what appear to be 3rd party sites online selling tickets but I don’t know what is legit/ethical. Can anyone offer genuine advice? (Rather than comments about how they should be Chelsea fans?!!!) and yes, they do also support Dulwich Hamlet! Thank you so much for any advice!
  6. Hi Does anyone happen to know which vaccine is being offered at the Crystal Palace football stadium? Thank you
  7. A couple years ago my 16 yr daughter and a friend were running very near to the spot you're describing (except the other side of Fireman's Alley) when they were stopped by a male jogger who touched my daughter's friend inappropriately (VERY). He was caught the following week by police but most frustratingly my daughter's friend chose not to press charges and he was let go with a caution. I wonder if it's the same bloke? You are welcome to PM me a description if you like and I can let you know if it sounds like the same person. Worth knowing because the police will have a record of this chap's info. Could very well be an innocent encounter, but equally likely it was no accident. Either way, I'm really sorry it happened as I can imagine it must be hugely unnerving. Thanks for sharing.
  8. Had Pfizer jab today at 8am (4.5 hours ago). Rode my bike home from Guy's and went for a walk in the park this afternoon. So far soo good, haven't noticed any ill effects. Will update if this changes.
  9. The the original poster, I'm so sorry this happened to you. It's unacceptable ANYWHERE but is somehow worse in your own neighbourhood, where you should feel welcomed and safe. I hope the man in question is identified and re-educated. I also hope this doesn't stop you from behaving just as you were. (I'm always so happy when I see people holding hands... it just makes me feel optimistic for the human race!)
  10. We had this going on during spring/early summer with two parents trying to work from home + two kids trying to work from home. The house behind us decided to build a gargantuan home office at the bottom of their garden. It was a total nightmare with saws and drills and hammers going on all day every day. I sympathise. My only suggestion is to go over and politely explain your situation. At least it's winter and the windows will be closed. Good luck
  11. Wondering if there is a more detailed description of this person? My daughter and her friend were jogging in Dulwich Park some time ago (18 months?) when they were approached by a man similar to this description who suddenly grabbed my daughter's friend and began kissing her. Police were involved and caught him. As we live very near the library I am concerned about him still being around.
  12. I live in one of the roads between Court Lane and Woodwarde Road, so have been hugely impacted by the closure of Calton Avenue in the village. I drive about twice a week, and almost without fail used that junction to get wherever I was going. Surprise surprise the closure has made my car trips faaaar longer, like, to the point of being inane. In fact, after driving just a few times, always a circuitous way around, I could't be asked so started riding my bike, or walking. So, yeah, the closure did exactly what it's meant to do. I hated it at first but now I love it. Go figure. Even this old dog can learn new tricks (like how to enjoy cycling in London). Think I'll get rid of my car (which is a piece of junk anyway) as don't really see the point of it anymore. I'm looking forward to going car-free. Having said all this, I suspect I would feel differently if I had small children or if I was in any way physically challenged or disabled. (Just profoundly out of shape, but even that's improving now thanks to the road closures). Just my personal story. Totally get others will have different experiences, and different views. I don't know what the overall solution is, but there is now at least one less car on the roads.
  13. Anyone know what's up with all the helicopters flying overhead tonight?
  14. The OP just asked politely for some help with a situation that was bothering her. Whether or not you agree with it bothering her, there is no need at all to be unkind. Springer, are you okay? I am now wondering if you need some help?
  15. Hello We have a traditional unwired thermostat for our central heating, but unfortunately the timer function on it is no longer working. We are planning to replace it with a digital programmable thermostat, but I really know very little about this. So questions I have are: * Any recommendations on which brand (we don't need a "smart" one) * Is this something I can (in theory) install myself? * If not, who would I call to get one installed? Thanks so much!
