Forest Hill Road Practice - in Meltdown ?
gerritsmith replied to George Orwell's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Phoned last week to make an appointment. I was told that they are not making any appointments because they are changing the system and the system would start on 1st of April, so have to phone in April to make an appointment. I suggested you only need a diary and a pen and is not complicated to make a list of appointments. I insisted that I needed to see a doctor. The receptionist then asks me what my symptoms were? receptionist started to play doctor's role. -
Forest Hill Road Practice - in Meltdown ?

There was not a single person in the waiting room when I went to the surgery this morning to collect a prescription. Seems doctors in this surgery don't see patients any more. I checked their website to see if appointments are available. To my surprise I can't make an appointment unless i have chest pains. -

Forest Hill Road Practice - in Meltdown ?

Just look at their website for making appointments. One dr appears to be seeing patients for just two hours a day. And only upto four are on duty for two hours a day. When you phone to make an appointment to see a doctor you have previously seen s/he is never available. Eight doctors are sharing the work of a couple doctors. A scandal. -

No wonder you can't get appointments to see a dr in this surgery. Looking at their website for making appointments, it appears that out of eight doctors at the surgery, only four are seeing patients for two hours a day at the most. Sometimes only two or three are on duty working just two hours a day. On average eight doctors work eight hours in total in a day, at the most. This is scandalous. Doctors are hardly there in the surgery to see patients. They get paid to work full time but on average it seems each one to be working less than an hour a day. Does Jeremy Hunt know that GPs in this surgery are getting full time wages for doing hardly any work? -
last week I had phoned Nationwide to cancel my building insurance. Today, I received a letter thanking me for renewing the insurance with them and direct debit payments will start on 1st of Nov. I cannot believe this.
-
How much do you pay for your building Insurance? I received a renewal notice from the Nationwide with a quote of ?556 and I have been with them for several years and paying similar amounts each year. I went on the net and got it for ?210 from M&S. When I phoned the Nationwide they said they would do it for ?349.80 but would not send me the revised quote and had to renew it then over the phone to get the revised rate. Loyalty with finance companies does not pay.

First day of the new Dulwich Swimming Pool
gerritsmith replied to Weegee's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I went for a swim in the new pool and I don't like people walking around the pool in their shoes. Where the women come into the pool from the changing room there are no showers, so women just get into the pool without showering. The attendant is not bothered. -

Is it true that if you drive into the congestion charge zone before 7 am and stay in the zone until 6 pm then you do not incur the charge?

former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?

Glass walls reflect sound more than the brick walls. Lending area and reading area are in the same hall. They should be seperated. They have four floors in the building and don't know what they use other floors for? They have enough space there to seperate reading and lending sections. -

I see palm trees and exotic shrubs have sprung up all over Southwark. Whose idea was it to plant palm trees? May we please have indigenous plants and tree which are beneficial to birds, bees and other insects and wild life. Birds and insects rely on local indigenous plans for their food and well being. Planting these exotic trees would reduce food source for the birds and could result in reduction of bird population. Local plants are cheaper and beneficial, exotic tropical plants are expensive and environmentally damaging. On Peckham High Street, outside Peckham Pulse there are six or seven huge pots with large olive trees. What is the point of them and how much did they cost? Looking forward to your reply. -
The empty 'luxury' flats on Overhill Road

Few years ago, a planning officer said this to me when we applied for conversion of a house into flats. -

According to planning requirements, off street parking spaces is a requirement when more than two flats are built in one building. There is something dodgy about planning for those flats. -

Ah yes, the community officers. Have you ever seen one patrolling the streets at night? I suppose, crime and antisocial behaviour don't occur at night. -

I was there in the morning and the machine was out of order but did not say "no Parking till 19th May" so I just parked normal and luckily did not get clamped. If I were you I would appeal. -
