There was a similar issue with one outside our house, near the junction with Silvester Road. i reported it via here: https://www.fixmystreet.com It took a long time for it to get fully fixed, all the things that IntexasATM mentioned had to happen first, but it's been fine for a good few months now (actually since January, just checked!), so do persevere!

Royal Mail Sorting Office Closure Meeting..
capt_birdseye replied to DulwichFox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If you?re planning on picking up a parcel today bring something to read and a flask of tea. They are incredibly slow and the queue is huge. -
I think it?s meant as a temporary fix. Over the last few months TW periodically leaflet the nearby cars saying they?re about to embark on repairs. What usually then happens is one of their vans parks there for a few hours with little sign of them actually doing anything. They often don?t even leave the van.

I reported the Mulberry Close one to the council recently. They referred it to the Highways agency who tarmaced over it on Wednesday. By Friday the tarmac had completely disintegrated and was strewn all over the road. I have raised it yet again, hopefully they fix it properly this time, I have little confidence that they will.

Football one-to-one coaching
capt_birdseye replied to Ratcliffe's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Can anyone recommend somewhere other than football magic for a 6 year old wanting to get into football? We did the football magic taster and it was a bit of a throwback, very little actual coaching, 20 kids all swarming round the ball at the same time. My son left in tears after being berated by several kids for letting a goal in. I wanted to find somewhere that would foster a bit of enthusiasm but this has sadly had the opposite effect. He hasn't played much before so we're looking for somewhere a bit more hands on and fun where the emphasis is more on developing basic skills, passing etc rather than a disorganised mass-kickabout. -
James Barber, are there any plans to do anything about the Barry Road/Underhill Road junction? Problems seem to me: - Traffic constantly backing up on both sides of Underhill. - Hard to see out from Underhill (Friern Rd side) onto Barry Road as there are usually Church Minibuses blocking the sight-lines. - Difficult for people to cross Underhill at peak times due to volume of traffic crossing or turning in to Barry Rd. - I know of several pedestrians who have had near misses from cars turning right out of Underhill (Friern Rd side) who have not realised the lights at the crossing were red. Thanks!

Is anyone else collecting these?? We've got a bit obsessed with trying to get hold of them all in our house. My son has just unwrapped a Witch (number 4) which he already has and would like to swap it for any of these: 6: Fly Man 8: Zombie Cheerleader 13: Businessman 15: Big Foot Thanks!

Can't believe this thread is still going! Loving the new Blur song, Under the Westway. I wish they would stop teasing us and put out a proper album. So rare for a band that's been around so long to still be producing quality music.

You can download a couple of tracks from the new Sufjan Stevens album for free here: http://sufjanstevens.bandcamp.com/album/the-age-of-adz Well worth a listen if you haven't encountered him before.

David Lynch's singing is something to be heard.

Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse - Dark Night of the Soul: very good The National - High Violet: not sure yet, starting to think it's a bit dirgey for my liking Arcade Fire - The Suburbs: enjoying it more with each listen The Drums: very enjoyable

It works like a standard football league, so you're drawn against another team and your weekly scores are your goals. So you get 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, goal difference etc.

To put the cat amongst the pigeons I've re-created the Fantasy Premier League "EDF Super Liga": http://fantasy.premierleague.com/ You can enter the same team into as many leagues as you want. I have created a normal league and a head-to-head league for added spice: EDF Super Liga: 405920-101900 EDF Head to Head: 405920-101908 Feel free to sign up.

I think it is ready, just that last bit is pending a Health and Safety inspection/sign off. There was lots of litter yesterday, but the bins that were there were full to bursting.

If you get the chance try and watch Charlie Brooker's Newswipe on BBC4. There was an episode recently where they canvassed people on the street about how pointless it was to canvass people on the street.
