  1. When you say mentoring due you mean for a PGCE student? Or GTP (graduate teacher programme)?
  2. As far as I'm aware as long as your building insurer are willing to transfer to the new buyer there shouldn't be a problem with the mortgage. We bought a flat with previous subsidence and as long as we could get insurance the mortgage company were happy.
  3. It should be on iplayer for another few weeks but from what I can remember: - Basically dressing - sweet - palm sugar, sour - lime, salty - fish sauce, hot - chilli (green I think). - use pestle and mortar to crush chilli and sugar Salad - cucumber (julienne), mint, coriander, thai basil (try SMBS or thai supermarket in Peckham near Morrisons) shallots, chilli (red I think) Sorry thats all I can do off the top of my head. Sorry Crab and rice noodles!!! Also, this is a lovely recipe for a light meal. We have it with rice noodles. http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3299/vietnamese-pork-salad
  4. Is Franks open again this year then?
  5. Moro on Exmouth market, definitely my favourite restaurant in London (but you have to book well in advance), Kick bars great too for a few beers/cocktails. But smithfield is also one of my favourite places.
  6. Asakusa - Japanese near Mornington crescent station. Highly recommend! Need to book, ask for an upstairs table ideally. http://trustedplaces.com/review/uk/london/restaurant/1g82v7/asakusa

  8. We liked Virgin Media. Have to check you're local broadband speed though. It's bad in some areas.
  9. NB: you can get Mac see below... For Laptop - Apple MacBook, ideally Pro but more ??. 15inch MacBook Pro ~?1500 (sorry just seen you don't want to spend more than 1K. Definitely recommend below - get a lot more for your money! But more ideally the iMac. Bigger screen, cheaper and definitely better for your posture! MacBook Pro iMac Sorry really not reading properly at all today - We have a Mac and parallel desktops. We can run different operating systems simultaneously and then swap between them. I don't understand exactly as my husband sorts it all out but it's easy to do. Found these links: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallels_Desktop_for_Mac#Overview http://www.parallels.com/uk/products/desktop/
  10. They do Meditation classes at the Vale Practice on Grove Vale. I think Monday evenings
  11. We've stayed here. Basicish room but nice breakfast, good price and good location. http://www.kingshotelbrighton.co.uk/
  12. I have appealed to a fine before and got a refund. I had got on at ED to LB without a ticket as the queue was so long. I went to the ticket place at LB and still got fined as I'd traveled without a ticket!! even though I hadn't tried to go past the barriers! Anyway I wrote a letter and got a refund. I think you'll get a fine and a caution. Maybe write them a letter? Don't fret and good luck.
  13. I must say I have encountered more rudeness on Lordship Lane than I ever have on Rye Lane. There is a small portion of EDers who think that manners are beyond them and that their children are more important than anyone else. Thankfully this is not everyone and is the minority. I have never seen any aggressive behavior in Peckham and any that I hear of is confined to gangs and very rarely involves Joe public. LL had it's own stabbing last year or have we forgotten that? The worse fight I have ever seen was in the Bishop a couple of years back and the only people I know who have been mugged were mugged on Camberwell Grove, considered a sought-after prestigious road. Don't get me wrong I love LL but RL doesn't deserve the bad name it gets. Peckham is a culturally amazing place with lots on offer, Khans Bargains is one of my favourite shops with any spice you could possibly want and the Thai supermarket near Morrisons is great. Unfortunately bad things happen and can happen anywhere..... Unless any of you are planning on joining a Peckham gang I think the chances are Peckham's a safe place to explore.

Islington is also a borough...... not just an area within a borough....
  15. We've had a couple of take-aways and always been happy. Although the first time we ordered via the internet and they didn't get the order. Great chicken marinade and they do various levels of spiciness. The rice is lovely (best without veg in it), the chips were a little soggy but they always are with take-aways. The meal deal is very reasonably priced. The chicken beats Nandos but the chips don't. Generally thumbs up.
  16. Thanks zephyr, Having read your post I decided to check my journey history for a journey I was delayed on. I had been charged ?9.30 for a single journey which should have taken 35 miniutes but took 1hour 40!! I hadn't thought to check. Rather than over charging it should refund the cost of the whole journey for such poor service!! Thanks again.
  17. I don't reconcile my accounts but I think I should. I just keep a record of all my earnings and receipts for expenses/costs and put them in a spread sheet. Very basic, I think I should use an accountant. I mean to use one every year but always end up doing it all myself. As a note some internet backing sites let you download your bank statements straight into an excel format. I don't think HSBC does yet but I know Lloyds does or at least used to.
  18. I can't believe what I've just read. Not about your pain I truly sympathise. I would just like to clarify a few things.... As an Osteopath I can safely say that our Anatomy training is way beyond that of any GP. Maybe not a Specialist who should know the specialist area in minute detail. We do a four year intense degree which consists of two years of human dissection and more anatomy exams than I wish to remember. We had to learn the origin, insertion, action and innervation (nerve supply) of every muscle, as well as the names of each tiny bump on every bone. We even had a real skeleton for a year to study from. Leaving the skull hanging around was always fun! We also study pharmacology, paediatrics, pathology, diagnosis, physiology, biochemistry......... A close friend of mine who is a GP said they did 1 term of anatomy in her 5 year degree. I don't mean to sound like we know everything, we don't. We are very effective at diagnosing and treating a lot of musclo-skeletal complaints including headaches and much more but we are also thoroughly trained to know our limits and what needs further investigation. A GP knows very little about a hell of a lot. We are trained musclo-skeletal experts. We use palpation and examination to aid diagnosis and seek further investigation where necessary. I see so many patients who have been diagnosed by their GP as having Sciatic. Sciatica is not a diagnosis, it is a symptom (Leg pain). It can have many different causes, from a disc protrusion/herniation, muscle spasm causing entrapment, a boney growth, vascular problems the list goes on.... I could go on but I think I'd bore you all. It just frustrates me when a patient comes in as a last resort after months/years of pain which they have suffered needlessly. Just remember an Osteo will not make things worse, we can't guarantee we can take the pain away but we are in a better position than a GP to understand what is going on and what is needed. We also know the names of all the muscles that attach to the hip joint and cross the sciatic nerve. I bet your GP doesn't. I sincerely hope you find the treatment you need and get some pain relief. I am not convinced by surgery, it's more likely to lead to scar tissue but then I haven't seen the MRI report. If the nerve sheath has always been there why has it only now started causing problems, if it's moved there ask what has caused it. Remember not to take the pain killers on an empty stomach if they an anti-inflammatory or you'll end up with a poorly tummy too.
  19. Thanks for the correct terms Skidmark. Question, and agian please excuse my incorrect/poor wording. When turning right I usually go into the yellow box and wait for the on coming traffic to eventually stop. As mentioned this is usually once the lights are on Red. This means I am in the yellow box and turning right with the lights on Red. Is this wrong to do? It is virtually impossible to turn right if you are not the first car unless you are willing to 'just go for it'. I feel an indicative arrow is needed or drivers coming from the opposite direction need to stop driving though on amber/red to allow the traffic to turn right. Yes sorry I mean the lights at CPR/Adys road.
  20. Yes a filter light is needed. Esp turning right from East Dulwich road. To do this you have to go in to the yellow box and wait for the on coming traffic to eventually stop going through on amber/red and then turn nearly always once the traffic to the right has started to move. You just can't turn otherwise. Even cyclists go through from Nunhead side to east dulwich side on red, I've nearly caught one when the cars have eventually stopped and I go to finish turning right. There is a right filter on the lights at goose green why not at the rye? It is so tragic about the little girl, I just hope they actually make the junction safer.
  21. 185. 484 is horrible esp during rush hour. As a note, I put a friend on my car insurance and it only cost ?20 for the rest of the insurance year (9 months). Much cheaper than temporary. I've also put a friend on when I renewed and it reduced my premium!
