Pointless question of the day (for cat owners)
Ramble66 replied to supergolden88's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thankfully our cats don't do this. When we have tried to discourage behaviour when they were kittens we used a water spray or pushing their neck down gently but firmly and holding for a second like a mother cat would. They also dislike sudden loud noise. So we re-enforce it by clapping our hands. Eventually you should be able to just clap loudly once to stop behaviour and hopefully prevent further occurrences. Obviously the difficulty is catching them at it! Also cats tend to dislike strong citrus smells and tea tree oil. Maybe add these to the water spray and also spray the sides with it. Hopefully they will relate the smell with being sprayed and also not like the smell so keep away. -
It can help by decompressing the vagus nerve which controls digestion. It can help release the diaphragm which maybe excessively tight affecting the functioning of the sphincters. It can generally relax the baby. It can help free the neck which if restricted could affect feeding and cause excess wind. Structure governs function. If there are structural changes then it will affect function. I know I'd prefer to try this approach before giving my baby medications. It's not massaging the skull exactly. The bones in a babies head are not joined and lie within a sheet of tissue. The bones within the tissue can get compressed or distorted affecting nerves, fluid flow and blood supply. By gentley supporting the bones and with a little encouragement the tissues holding the bones relax and bones readjust to their correct anatomical position allowing everything to function more optimally. This is a simplifed explanation but hope it helps.

Quids you bahave and read mine and other peoples posts! That bit was to spanglysteve who was asking about Manchester from Westmister. I fully agreed M11 for York and sometimes best way for Manchester but not from Westminster. Thanks to Benmorg for pointing it out! And to Townleygreen for apologising. ???? Best route north on a bank hol Friday?
Ramble66 replied to akc74's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Akc74 definitely Rotherhithe, M11 on a Friday night. Spanglysteve - What I have done before is park at westfield, took car there at lunch then got tube back in to work. This way you can get straight on to the M40. Otherwise I'd do M4/M25/M40 route. Definitely M6 toll. I always try and avoid the A5 (Edgeware) and head up/down the A41 (Finchley Road). Less traffic lights. -
Try the Copleston road centre or the old nunshead pub has a room you can hire.

What's the best cycle route to East Ham?

Use cycle streets website. -
Hi littleED family, I keep my hummus recipe simple. Tin of chickpeas, blend with a little if the chickpea water, then add good tablespoon of tahini, juice of a lemon, couple cloves of garlic (less if you're not a garlic fan), good glug of olive oil, salt and pepper. Blend. If too thick add a little more water and/or oil. From there I adjust to taste depending on my mood. More lemon or more tahini. Damzel, you can get tahini in large jars in SMBS or the Greek shop opposite the east dulwich deli. Also although granola will be amazing in a smoothie you can just add a handful of cheap porridge oats and blend into smoothie. Now have a granola craving! I can can't buy the stuff because I'll just eat it all the time out of the box :-). Pebbles - flaxseed is a seed that you can buy ground. Good source of omega oils, fibre and protein. You can probably get it in sainsburys or health matters and SMBS sell it. Ryedalema, I'd forgotten all about coconut milk in porridge. It was a favourite of mine last year with sultanas. Mashed banana stirred into porridge is also good. Or on toast with peanut butter :-)

We've started having homemade smoothies daily for breakfast but can't see why it can't be lunch. Very quick and easy if you have a blender. We keep ours out so don't have to faff. Just keep in bananas, and frozen fruit from Sainsburys, 3 bags for ?5. Our favourite at the moment is banana, mango and raspberries. Add milk, soya milk or yogurt and a handful of oats and whizz. You can also add a little honey if you want. Very quick and healthy. Even better if you add some protein like ground flaxseed. Frozen black forest fruits with yogurt in the summer is also yummy and better for you than ice cream. Another favourite but not to everyones taste is banana and peanut butter smoothie! Also sweet potato wedges. Feels naughty but still good for you. Just add a little olive oil, salt and pepper and roast. We also make a big batch of humous weekly to keep in fridge.

I almost agree but that turning is too soon for the cyclist to have tried to undertake. The chances are the drivers indicator was still on and the cyclist must have got on her inside very quickly. She must have been going quite slowly, and not accelerating away, this should have indicated to him that he should beware and that she might be turing. She had right of way. She should have checked her blind stop agreed and for that she is in the wrong but he shouldn't have been undertaking at that point. Cyclists need to think as well and read the road.
-
Agreed. She should have been aware of the cyclist before exciting the roundabout.
-
I completely agree DJ but that is a very stupid spot to start undertaking, unless you know for a fact the car isn't going to instantly turn left.
-
It's a difficult one. I cycle and drive around goose green roundabout regularly, often turning right onto grove vale from East Dulwich road. As the Tintagel turning is so close to the roundabout, if you've indicated left to come off the roundabout the indicator is usually still on as you leave and pass the turning to Tintagel, unless you manually cancel it. So if the driver had indicated correctly the chances are her indicator would have still been on. However, If the driver had used her mirrors whilst going around and then exciting the roundabout she should have been aware cyclist before he entered her blind spot. But the cyclist must have instantly started to undertake as he left the roundabout which is bad cycling, possibly presuming the left indicator was from her left turing off the roundabout. Hope it make enough sense. I always presume that a car from the roundabout could turn left up Tintagel, whether I'm a cyclist, driver or pedestrian. Edited to say granadaland probably said it better, and to correct spelling.

Have either if you thought about cranial osteopathy? PM me if you want more info. Also put bowls of water by or in all the radiators.

Just under an hour to Camden according to Cycle routes, easily the best site for route planning. It gives you the quickest, balanced and quietest routes. You can also change the speed it uses to calculate journey time if you are a slow, medium or fast cyclist. Also not sure how he commutes at the moment but my preferred way is train from Peckham Rye to St Pancras then a short walk through Mornington Crescent or if to north Camden, get off at Kentish Town and walk or bus down. Edited to say: Thisis what you need to store the bike in a flat. You can also get cheaper ones.

The value differential: ED vs Nunhead & The Oak

3 bed house in Brockley for ?400,000, 5 bed house for ?500,000. Think it all depends on what you're after.
