  1. Hello, My 2 yr old nephew is visiting me and I have just realised there are plenty of sharp table corners in my house. Is there any place in East Dulwich where I can buy something to protect the sharp corners? Many thanks, Sue
  2. UncleBen, that was a very rasict thing to say. Disgusting!!
  3. Hi guys thanks very much for all the info and suggestions. I will use the price comparison sites first and then start tracking my meter reaings every month. Its mainly Gas thats very expensive. It was about ?200 for gas pm these last 3 months. The high VAT on the total bill does not help either.
  4. JohnL, yes we are with NPower as well, will chk tonight how they've added the bill and will probably speak to them. CocoC, who is your supplier? probably its time to switch!? Sue
  5. Hello, We just received our bill for gas and electricity for last 3 months and it was around ?900!! This sounds ridiculous to me so was wondering if anyone has had a similar bill at all. It was a particularly cold winter and the prices are rising, but ?300 per month does sound excessive. We, my husband and I, live in a 3 bed semi and work during the day, so use up gas and elec only in the evenings/ weekends. Hence a bit surprised. Would love to hear from any of you. many thanks, Sue
  6. Sounds like a really good idea, I'm in too.
  7. We went to Vietnam for 2 weeks. Loads of culture in Hanoi, Saigon, Hue and Hoi An, lovely cruising in Halong Bay. The beaches there are lovely and you can afford so much more luxury for less. The food is lovely and cheap too. Wld highly recommend it. Sue
  8. Thats a brilliant idea. I've always thought such a cinema will do very well in ED. I miss having a cinema in ED and will def use it at least once a week if not more. Sue
  9. Not just appointments, I'm having issues just getting a doctor's reference for my Life Insurance application. Zurich sent them the first request in Nov last year and have been following up every week since then. Y'day I called up and they still said that they cldn't tell me when they can send the reference. Is this the acceptable level of service? Can the PCT help me with this?
  10. Hi guys, thanks very much for all your suggestions. Panic over, we asked the builder to "punch" the nails. The floor looks fabulous now. Thanks again Sue
  11. Hello need some advice. Our builder is putting down reclaimed wooden floor in our house over floor joists. But I can see parallel rows of nail heads on our lovely floors. Is it coomon to nail reclaimed floor boads? I don't remember seeing nails on any wooden floors I have seen. I'm on a major panic mode now, dont like the look of rows of silvery nail heads on otherwise lovely dark wood floors. Sue
  12. Hi Reren, I'm running out of my patient nerves with the building and decorating in my property. Like Sue above mentioned, would your services also include minding builders to ensure they do what they promise to do? If so then Yes would love to have someone like you around. So yes, great idea. Happy to be a guniea pig as well. Sue x

  15. Hey, Would any of you know, if we do go for rigid insulation, does it needs to be treated to protect from termites? Sue
  16. Thanks all for yoru useful suggestions, have discussed tehm with our builder. We have decided to go with the Rigid insulation as we are planning to stay heer for the next 10 to 15 years. Sue

  18. Hello, We are putting in new joists and wooden flooring in our living/ dining area. We are not sure which underfloor insulation to go for - eco wool blanket or rigid (more expensive). Anyone has any experience of these? Thanks Sue
