I sympathise with your plight, I really do.... however, you bought the thing to be a mobile device, so how was using it on the bus stupid....If the only place you are prepared to use it is in the safety of your own home, why buy it in the first place? Yes it is bad when it happens, but seriously... if you are afraid to use it in a public place, what is the point... this stuff happens, and granted it is not nice, but keep your wits about you... dont sit near the door, etc, and avoid this kind of thing.... Dont let these bastards win....

Its called the "Barry Barry Run".... Involves all the competitors meeting in the Plough at a designated time.... on the strting gun, you have to down a pint of larger and then run down to the clockhouse fast as you can - First one there wins.... I believe they also stopped at the "barry off license? to down a can on the way past last year.......
