Popped in on the way back from work, seems nice and relaxed atmosphere. Large selection on tap from local micro brewery's. Had a chance to see the garden, and its one of the nicest ive seen. Large area covered with a fancy roof and wood fires, i wanted to move in! lol. -

I think theres some value to what you say, and i tend to agree, but its done now. Maybe you can contact the CGS to ensure future projects are given the due process. Although i would be careful what you wish for, too much red tape and things like this may never happen or end up costing 10x as much. A similar project in another borough cost ?50k in artist fees alone.

Things have taken longer than expected and is the only project of this type hes working on. Some aspects are weather dependant, so has slowed things down at times, but he is there at all hours come rain or shine to get it completed asap. There is a hard deadline of late Feb, so not long now. Some additions to the project requiring extra material and heavy moving gear is also required, which all adds to the fun. It will be a striking object, whether you like it or not is of course down to personal taste. Whatever your thoughts, i do think it will become a strong landmark for the area and its influence on the community will only be understood in the years to come. There are other aspects to it which i cant go into yet, but i can tell you the cost of the project is a lot less than you might imagine, and infact has cost Morganico more money to complete than CGS are paying. Will update with more when we know the unveiling date, which is decided by the council.

Do i read that they plan to move the nursery to the Elms? If so that seems an ideal solution to all this, the Elms looks like a perfect place for a nursery.

Mugged on Forest Hill Road on the 25th July at 5pm

Think ive been approached by similar chap youve described, he stopped beside me and gave me a menacing look, before he had a chance to do or say anything i stepped behind him into the road and he nearly jumped out of his skin. Then i just stopped and stood in the road until he decided to walk off empty handed. Traffic wasnt happy, but tough, means you have lots of witness if they try it on again. If this happens to you, the stand in the road trick works quite well if its not in the dead of night. -
The bins are great, ive asked Morgan to paint mine. He has a leaf stencil that looks a bit more subtle than those in the pics. Unique designs with things like bins gives the area a sense of community and should be encouraged. I can see how some might find the sub station design a bit much at first, but it grows on you and its better than over designed colours that some agency charged 10k for and would get graffiti'd up in about 3 seconds. Street design and art is well known for reducing anti social behaviour, so lets be thankful for something different. Bollards im not so keen on either, some small trees would be nice. Been here for 25years and that area was a bit grotty for years, its nice to see it come alive, the co-op and French cafe are a god send, though i do miss the ole 24hr bakery. Smell at 4am was magic.
