  1. Potentially a strange combo I know, but my sister is a 'Thrive' consultant who works with people who have phobias, obsessive behaviour, SAD, depression in all forms, anxiety, stress, addictions, weight loss problems amongst many other things to help them get control of their lives back! She has been approached by a tv company about filming the progress of someone undertaking Thrive therapy to help them loose weight and is on the hunt for someone! Here's a link to her website for more information on this or any other of the therapy she can offer- http://www.clairegaskellhypnotherapy.co.uk/ Feel free to call her anytime, she is very good at what she does and the Thrive therapy seems to be helping so many people! Here is a link to an article about how Thrive has helped two women cure their phobia of being sick- http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2332213/Meet-emetophobes--people-terrified-VOMIT--discover-lengths-avoid-near-sick.html Sarah
  2. Not a problem!
  3. I used to live on Underhill Road and never had a problem with the water!
  4. I'm an ED nanny who has extensive experience with special needs, if you ever need babysitting- evenings or fri/sat/sun day times too just give me a shout :-) Sarah
  5. Kittens...
  6. Hi, I'm an ED nanny who who also does local babysitting and is experienced with various forms of special needs, feel free to contact me if you're interested at all :-) thanks, Sarah
  7. I'd also like to recommend Celia Hammond, myself and my boyfriend foster kittens for them- the more homes the better! We've got a new litter of newborns and their Mum coming on Monday- so excited!
  8. Hello! I had a very rude man who came to the door yesterday- and was so busy telling him he had been rude that I forgot to ask what charity he was from, all I know is that it was a children's charity. I'd like to complain to their head office and can't do that unless I know who they are...! This is not to be confused with the two men who came to the door at 12:30 ish! Thanks, Sarah
  9. Go with Push, I found it to be excellent!
  10. If you can wait until 4th-6th May, Kentwell Hall in Suffolk is an old moated manor house which will be brought to life for May Day celebrations full of Tudor people acting as though they are in the 1500s! So much to see and do for children, parades, baking, cooking, archery, a forge, may tree, dancing and music. It's in the village of Long Melford and I can recommend the Cock Inn in Glemsford for decent accommodation super close to Kentwell. I'll be there as one of the Tudors!! (I'm an ED nanny in 'real life') so if you have any more questions feel free to ask. Myself and my boyfriend take part in the re enactments at Kentwell all through the year and its a stunning area of the country. The drive should be about 1 hour 45 mins but obviously that's traffic dependant. If you do end up coming, I'll be making waffles over a fire somewhere- let on who you are and I'll let you try one ;-) Www.kentwellhall.co.uk Also if you don't make it this time- the main event for 3 weeks from the end of June to early July is when the most Tudors are there so a must see, there's often 300-400 of us there then or high summer in August, Michaelmas in September or if Victorians are more your thing there the Garden Party in August, Christmas in December or if you like a bit of everything then there's the mad hatters tea party (date tbc) or the multi period event at the end of May! Sarah
  11. They have them for sale at the sugarcraft shop by the harvester too!
  12. We've got it on Abbotswood too with bt!
  13. Hello! If you have any old mobile phones, broken fine but must have batteries, please pm me and I can pick them up or if you're on Facebook join the group and the address is on there! I'm collecting to help a girl who I used to go to school with- she has two young sons, both with special needs- one severely Autistic who is non verbal. They are collecting phones to exchange for an iPad to hopefully help his communication skills. She is a fantastic mum and deserves all the help she can get. If you're on Facebook the group can be found here- http://www.facebook.com/sarah.gaskell.7/posts/237563423053742 If you can ask colleagues/family/friends too, please do! Her address is on the Facebook group if you want to post to her directly! Thanks, Sarah
  14. Ah! Fantastic, glad you liked them! I still have a mum and two boys looking for a new home if anyone's looking! Subject to checks and paperwork by Celia Hammond they're ready to go to their new home right away! Sarah
  15. Thanks to everyone for their kind donations in response to my plea at the end of last week! I managed to take over a lot of stuff which went down really well! I've enclosed a photo from the Celia Hammond website of two cats who are up for adoption making use of the cushion kindly donated by sandnot! Thanks again! Sarah
  16. We've just got this one- http://www.nisbets.co.uk/Kenwood-Major-Pro-Planetary-Mixer/CE379/ProductDetail.raction so far so good! Compared to the (far more beautiful) kitchen aids and k-mix machines it has a stronger motor, larger bowl and was cheaper... We really like it so far! I make quite a lot of very large cakes (wedding cakes etc) and was finding mixing mixing by hand took far too long and too taxing, so it's a massive relief! We got ours from Nisbets too, great price!!
  17. I'm so sorry, have only just seen this! I charge ?11 net per hour, any time of day or night. This includes any extra cooking you may wish to be done while children are sleeping- dinner for the following day or to be frozen, cakes, biscuits etc..! Sarah
  18. I'd like to recommend myself please! (If that's not too cheeky!!) I'm an ED nanny, experienced with SEN and neurotypical children of all ages. Happy to cook meals for the following day or cakes/biscuits etc as long as you provide the ingredients as long as children are sleeping! I've been working with children for about 5 years in total- as a nanny, in schools and as a children's club ref for Neilson Active Holidays (Thomas Cook). Look forward to hearing from you, Sarah
  19. Also make sure you put them on before the coat... Could sew on knee high childrens socks with the toes cut off so they go up the arms...? Sarah
  20. Maybe concentrate on supporting him when he mentions things like 'not wanting people to die', but then moving on to something else, possibly he's continuing to bring it up as he's confused and trying to make sense of it all, so I wonder if just 'me too, but everything's ok, now- shall we get those trains out' might show him that you are happy to converse with him about it, and perhaps a nice cuddle or kiss as you say it, but its not something that people need to worry about too much. If you wanted to give him something else to focus on, perhaps looking at the stars in the sky and thinking of anyone who has died can be a nice way of looking at death in a slightly more abstract way... Not sure, just some thoughts. I guess the ultimate aim is being honest, factual, supportive and appropriate for his age really! Good luck! Sarah
  21. You should check out PUSH studios on Lordship lane, just behind William Rose butchers. I've taken ballet there in the last and their classes area really good, prices competative too! Sarah
  22. I don't come under your radar I'm afraid... But I would like to put myself forwards as a babysitter with extensive experience with neurotypical as well as special needs children particularly those of the Autistic Spectrum. I'm an ABA tutor and experienced in Makaton sign language as well as PECS. I'm also experienced in cooking for children on special diets such as gluten free, egg and dairy free, sesame free etc. I work as a nanny in East Dulwich which is something I've done for nearly 3 years now, on top of previous Childcare experience such as learning support in a special needs school in Cambridgeshire and as a children's club rep for Neilson Active Holidays (Thomas Cook). Please pass on my email to any of the carers you work with as I'm available as a nighttime or daytime (when not working!) babysitter/nanny. My email is [email protected] (gaskellonesixoneone) Sarah x
  23. I would like to second Sally (MelbyG), I've photographed a couple of wedding and done some freelance photography work with Neilson Active holidays in Egypt and the editing process of digital photography is often massively overlooked. Price does not always equal quality but I'd look into what the photographer is offering quite critically first as well as making sure you see the results from a complete photo shoot, not just a general 'best of' type album. Sarah x
  24. I hear IKEA have them for ?1...! :-)
