hi it is central london but well worth it, go to winter wonderland in Hyde Park. We have gone last few years on my daughters birthday and its fantastic, my daughter loves it. We have always gone mid week and you literally walk straight in to see santa, there is no cost unless you want a photograph but they are happy for you to take your own no pressure to buy theirs. They dont get a present as there is no fee but they do get some chocolate. The best thing is no que,no frustrated parents, no crying toddlers. Its lovely and santa over past years has been in no hurry to rush you out sits and talks to little ones, its lovely. He is also a great looking santa, beautiful santa suit, proper beard. Then you can have fun on a few rides. If you have never been the whole atmosphere from arriving is lovely. It has the feel of a traditional christmas market as there is little wooden huts selling sweets and gifts, mulled wine etc. then there is all the rides for bigger people that are all christmas themed. Christmas songs are playing all around the site. then there is santaland for the littleones with a train, carousel and many other little rides. I cant wait to go in a couple of weeks.

ludoscotts replied to Susan's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
sorry kidkruger but its not just one night, we have been hearing them go off since fri, and last week or week before there was diwali which was another evening of them going off all night. It will stop after tonight though so just have to bear with it for a few more hours susan, It is hard with small children though, I have 3yr and 8 month old who are usually sound asleep by 8pm and have only just gone off, really hard as I work from home in the evenings when they go to bed and ive basically given up trying since fri as i only just seem to get going and some lound bangs disturbs one of them! ive just faced facts that after tonight hopefully order will resume. -
hi our little girl didnt like pooing in the toilet. She didnt mind weeing in the toilet but pooing freaked her out to the point that she would hang on and hang on then have an accident. We got round it by getting her a potty chair that she could take herself off to. she didnt mind doing a poo in there and would still use the toilet for wee's. After a couple of months she either grew out of it of got over it but she started using the toilet for everything and we were able to take the chair away. dont know if its the same with your little girl but might be worth a try.

Hi went to barrys and they had already sold it :( The plough have paid me for it. And I gave them an invoice so maybe they will claim for it don't know, but it was more the fact that it was one of a pair which looked great together. I haven't found anywhere that stills sells them. so although I've got the money back for it it's more the fact that I can't replace it. I'm not angry about it. I know this type of thing is going to happen. ( I did a party a few weeks ago that had a table decoration and table cloth taken) People have a few drinks and think it's a great idea to take items with them. Just thought it was worth putting out an appeal as maybe someone once sobered up dosent want it anymore or might even just throw it away. Thanks for everyones help. Leanne

Hi where and what is barrys?

hi It stands about knee high and its made from polystyrene. You wouldnt miss it if it was out on the street anywhere. just so annoying as it was the first time id used them. searched all morning and cant get another one anywhere online and the shop I bought them from no longer exists. Was just lovely having a matching pair. a link to a pic of them in the plough is here. link to pic thanks leanne

hi over the weekend a giant halloween skull was taken from the plough pub. The skull was actually mine and not the pubs. Im setting up my party decoration company at the moment and I leant the decorations to the plough so it really has been taken from me. Im just starting out so to loose a prop of that size is a big blow to me. As its one of a pair and I can't find a replacement for the one that was taken it's really upsetting. If anyone knows who took it I'd really really like it back please. If you spot one out in the street with the rubbish or anything like that please let me know id be really grateful. thanks so much leanne leannewatts@dreamofatheme.co.uk

How to get a 3 year old to have jabs
ludoscotts replied to kemurf's topic in The Family Room Discussion
with ours I got her to count and told her that by the time she counted to 10 it wouldnt hurt anymore, she got as far as 7 then looked amazed that it no longer hurt then got on with eating her treat. The next set of injections it almost turned into a game and she was saying lets see if we can do it quicker than 7! A friend of mine tried it a few weeks later and it worked with her little boy too. hope it goes ok, so distressing for you too. -
Labour - what to do with older siblings?
ludoscotts replied to Adam's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We went through this earlier this year and I can say that the homebirth option worked wonderfully for us. My sister came down for the week to stay so that there was someone to take care of my daughter, when I felt the contractions were coming on strongly I gave my sister the nod and she took our daughter to the park then out for tea. By the time they finished tea I had our baby boy and was showered and back in bed ready for her to meet her baby brother. if you opt for a home birth and dont have it as an emergency you get 2 midwives so they could take your wife to hospital while you arrange care for your first child. If I had gone more than a week late we had friends on standby and we had packed a bag for our daughter with her ready bed, favourite book, spare teddy, pj's etc and snacks and a list of do's and dont's etc for her incase she had to be rushed off to their house quickly. good luck for it all-if you have any more questions about home birth or places to make mummy friends etc send me a pm leanne -

ludoscotts replied to kerry.finlay's topic in The Family Room Discussion
and just thought a buggy shade, this one from jojo's is brilliant.link to sunshade its got clips in the sides to clip to buggy but we used it in the car on the car seat, and on highchairs whn we wanted to sit out in sun but wanted shade for baby. plus its pop up so it folds down to the side of a side plate so we keep ours in the change bag all the time. -

boots soltan for babies/children suncream is fab as you only have to put on once a day and its waterresistant for up to 6 hours I think. on our hol last year she never got burnt and was in and out of pool all day! id take a baa baa blind as some hotels are very bright. get your wipes, formula etc in boots once you get through security as although more expensive than high street still cheaper than abroad. take a sling/carrier with you as you dont get the buggy back until luggage collection and it can be a long time holding baby waiting for everything to come off plane. can highly recommend the jane sonic buggy from mothercare online, very lightweight, reclines and folds up smaller than maclaren etc, and extendable handles for the hubbies. we have a baby swimseat for sale if anyone needs one send me a pm ?5 def take a sterilizer bag and tablets incase there is no microwave, I have a spare one if you want it, check if your room has a kettle. if not travel kettle for boiling water for bottles. some of those ellas kitchen pouches were great, we used them as pasta sauces when in villa but great for when out and about. some washing tablets and cut down on clothes you are taking, should be hot enough that you can rinse things through and hang out and will be dry in couple of hours. travel washing line- again I have one if you want to borrow it, elastic with hook on each end and lots of clips so clothes dont blow away. hope you have a great hol. send me a pm if you want to borrow anything. -
hi cant offer any real advice as my little girl was pretty good at potty training. she did however hold on to her poo's and wouldnt do them in the potty some weeks after going well on the potty. she would wait until night time after her bath when I would put a nappy on her or insist on having a nappy on then go in it then want it off for the rest of the day. used to drive me mad but she got over it herself after a couple of weeks. I think the fact that we didnt make a big deal about it meant she just one day did it and never looked back, was fine after that. maybe its the potty he dosent like, what is he like on the toilet with a toddler seat on? or could you try the little balls that you can buy? I know my cousin resorted to using those as his son wouldnt use the potty and he completely bypassed the sitting down stage and went straight for standing up to have a wee and aimed on the little balls. hope things come right for him soon.

thanks for posting this, was wondering about this. We couldnt go this year as we had family visiting but was going to consider it for next year. It seemed like a lot of money ?80 for the 4 of us but if it wasnt a great day might give it a miss.

Stopping breast feeding- how long does the pain last?
ludoscotts replied to jollybaby's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi recently went through this too and yes it was so painful. I didn't express to relieve pain but like previous poster I could feel so many limps and bumps all over them and was worried about mastitis so I had very hot showers/baths for a few days and just massaged them to relieve the pressure. After 4/5 days it eased up and wasn't painful within a week. Good luck with it. It does get better. -
