Hi I used them too and found them great. I didnt use them when I was out and about as due to their sticky nature they are fiddly to put back on discreetly but used them in the house and on evenings out when I wasn't going to be feeding. they were a godsend on these occasions as with the disposable ones I was leaking everywhere if I missed a feed.

ludoscotts replied to ludoscotts's topic in The Family Room Discussion

hi can anyone please tell me what time Goodrich and Heber schools start and finish each day. Im going to be doing childminding from september and need to know if it would be possible to do the after school pick up if the 2 children were at 2 different schools. Has anyone had any experience of this? Looked on the school websites but haven't been able to find the start/finish times. thanks

Help me find a Saturday class PLEASE!!!
ludoscotts replied to mich's topic in The Family Room Discussion
hi there is ballet lessons at dulwich community centre on saturday mornings, depending on age of child its ?50 or ?60 per term. pm me your email address and I will forward you the info if you like. my daughter goes and she loves it. -
have you thought about getting a double maclaren with a carrycot for the baby? I know my friend had a similar age gap so she bought a phil and teds and she regretted it. She didnt like having the baby underneath, missing out on the face time looking down at the baby and when the little one got older she wished they were side by side . she also found it very heary and bulky to move around. they are very popular so she may have been the odd one out but she wished she had got a double maclaren with carrycot.

hi yes rambles is right, ive never had to empty mine while out and about,it holds a third of your total blood loss so you needent worry about having to deal with them in public toilets, and if you did feel you needed to you could just empty and wipe round or use a diabled toilet if in a shopping centre or somewhere like that as they have a sink in the cubicle with them.

Flying with baby and baggage allocation?
ludoscotts replied to minimac's topic in The Family Room Discussion
hi check your airlines website it should have a section in the faq's about travelling with children but generally whenever we have flown we have been able to fly with 2 baby related items so any 2 of the following travel cot, buggy, backpack, pram. but your airlines website should have all the info you need. I would say if you have a sling/carrier to take it with you, although you can take the buggy up to the plane when leaving we have never got the buggy back when getting off the plane, it has always come bac k with the luggage which means holding the baby for a long time. -
hi I have used a moon cup, I suffer from endometriosis so found tampons extremely uncomfortsble to use so was reccommended to use one of these. They do take practice to put in and out but never found it to be as bad as the review makes out. Once its in there you cant tell at all. IT holds a third of your entire blood loss so no worry about making sure its changed every 4 hours, you can do it at your own convenience. pefect for going swimming, exercising etc as no strings to worry about. the only problem I had with it was sizing, I used one in my twenties then after I had my baby I threw the old one out and bought the next size up but found that it was too big. I had to go out and buy another smaller one-big mistake as they are about ?20 should have checked if old one was ok first. But other than that I cant fault them at all. pm me if you want to ask anything else about them.

help - nursery / primary school advice please!
ludoscotts replied to spells's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Our daugther is at dulwich village preschool. They can go there from 2 years old. Term time only. Lovely atmosphere. Surrounded by fields. Massive garden and play area. It is the rugby club house with a big veranda so even if its raining they get to play outside. the staff are lovely, and our daughter has thrived since being there. they are hatching out baby ducklings at the moment and always doing little plays, projects etc. So sweet. -

which Canary Island would you recommend?
ludoscotts replied to bee74's topic in The Family Room Discussion
hi we went to lanzarote and stayed at this villa link to villa it was amazing, the drive way is off road over a big hill and you would need a car as it is about 10 mins drive to the nearest town but its fantastic, amazing views, beautiful villa. the picture of the back of the villa with all of the little walkways is all within the villas land and you cant get out of it its all gated so our daughter loved it and felt so safe letting her play in the grounds. everything you would need, microwave, washer etc. Pool is lovely, lanzarote had a law passed that all buildings had to be under 3 stories high ans painted white so you will find no high rise blocks and has a lovely village feel all over the island. -

The re was know-one else in the park except myself and my children. He was standing by the flats as we approached the park, on seeing us entering the park he then came in too And was watching me and my children only, there wasn't anyone else there. also following up comments that are suggesting he is perhaps special needs/care in the community I of course can't be sure but I don't think so. Ive worked with people with special needs and I didn't get that impression from him.

mfcjoe Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > So Damien, where does it say that he done anything > other than look at the OP, oh yeah ,she bumped > into him a few days later, she may well have > freaked him out. hi mfcjoe, im not going to get into a debate with you on this matter but whats your problem? Would you come and stand in a childrens play area on your own without any children and stare at a woman with young children then follow them down the road and run off if she had noticed you had followed her? I am not paranoid, the police and park wardens are aware of the man as they had other reports from other women on friday so he is obviously freaking out a lot of people. If I had not said anything and Id heard that someone had been attacked Id never forgive myself, I wanted other women to be aware there is someone odd hanging around. I use that alley everyday to take and collect my daughter from nursery I pass men jogging and walking down there all the time and have never felt threatened or worried before by anyone but this man shook me up, his behaviour was not normal. I really think you should think about your comments before posting.

hi jennt thanks for the description, its not the same man though. hope you feel better about things soon. -
HI i have been contacted by a member of the park staff and apparently there have been other reports of the man hanging around and they had police patrolling in the park in the park on Friday because of him. They will keep an eye on Firemans Alley now too. I'm going to contact the police today to let them know about it too. Will let you know if I hear any more. leanne

hi I just felt I had to warn people about the man I encountered on thursday and today. On thursday I was in the little park on firemans alley up by the harvester pub. There was a young man hanging around in front of the flats next to the park, After I went in with the children he came in too and lent against the railings watching us. A few times he wandered close by but when I looked at him to see what he was doing he would pretend to be doing stretches. We were the only ones in there and I got the feeling he was just waiting for the opportunity for me to be distracted. When my friend arrived he walked away down firemans alley but then he came back up 5 mins later and came into the park again but this time started talking on the phone the whole time watching us but if we looked at him he would look away. We left very quickly as it just all felt strange. I didnt think any more about it until today. I had been for a meal with my family and we were walking home I needed to stop at a shop and my family walked on ahead of me slowly. As I was walking along lordship lane I saw the same man standing waiting for a bus at the upland road busstop. He saw me approaching and turned to look at me. I didnt make eye contact and just walked by after a min I glanced behind me and saw that he was following me along the road which is strange as he seemed that he had been waiting for a bus until I had walked past. My family has stood waiting for me to catch up with them so when I met them I started saying the man behind me is following me, he walked past and he must have realised we were talking about him as he looked back and when he saw my father looking at him he ran across the road and went down firemans alley. We walked along but when we passed the top of the alley there was no sign of him. He hasnt done anything but twice he has managed to make me feel very uncomfortable and concerned especially as I have a toddler and a baby in a buggy. I really get the feeling he was waiting to take advantage of a distracted mum. I just want people to be be aware in the park and keep your eyes open. He was early to mid twenties. He was asian looking. Dark short hair. around 5'6 id guess. On thursday he had on a brown leather jacket. Today he had on light coloured trousers and a black t-shirt.

hi so sorry to hear this. would you mind describing the man please?(pm if you dont want to do it publically). I was freaked out in the firemans alley park the other day by a man following me into there and hanging around watching me with the children.I got the feeling he was waiting for a chance for me to be distracted with the children. Didnt think any more of it until today when I was walking along the road from costcutters opposite the library towards the harvester. He was standing waiting for a bus, he spotted me walking past and started following me along the road. Luckily my father and sister were further along the road waiting for me to catch up with them. When I met them he walked past, turned back to look and when he saw us all looking at him as I was explaining that he was following me he ran across the road and went down firemans alley. It really freaked me out as I was def being followed. Im interested to know if this could be the same man with the first instance being in a childs park.
