  1. We had a pirate party with Lucy sparkles this weekend for my so. Who was 4 but there was childre there aged 4-7 and she kept them all engaged and very happy with how much the children enjoyed themselves. It was ?80 for 45 mins which was more than enough as they were sweaty messes and desperate for a drink and rest after that.
  2. There is no assistance in crossing for Goodrich school. I know it is not situated on particularly busy streets itself but the amount of children and adults with small children trying to cross lordship lane from the junction of upland road is vast. It's really difficult trying to cross here as it's extremely busy and there is a traffic island but I've personally seen 3 crashes in the last 2.5 years on that junction and a child hit by a car. I don't understand why there isn't assistance here with a crossing guard yes there is one on barry road who stands on the zebra crossing!
  3. My 2 love it too (4&7) but they do switch between tiny pop and Pop depending on the programme being shown. If it's too young they switch over. It's a strange mix on there though and makes a nice change from CBeebies.
  4. Hello I don't quite fit to your time scale but if you had flexibility I will have a space from the beginning of June. I'm a registered childminder, married, with 2 children of my own. ( 7 year old girl and nearly 4 year old boy)I have other children in my care too. I live on Overhill road, the lordship lane end of the street in a house with a garden and a covered side yard for outdoor play in wet weather. We attend lots of groups, parks, classes. At the moment I am fully booked but from June one of my parents is going back onto maternity leave so will no longer need his space. So I will have availability Monday,Tuesday and Wednesdays from early June. If this is of any use to you let me know and we can meet for a coffee and a chat, Leanne
  5. We just booked for August and when we confirmed everything we were told(from the booking agent) that we would recieve a refund for the children's reduced fare once it goes through.
  6. Hi I'm a childminder( one of the ones pickle knows) and I will have a space coming up in June. Probably no good to you due to location ( im on overhill road in Dulwich ) but send me a pm if you get desperate. Leanne
  7. Hi how soon do you need care? I'm a registered childminder and just found out I will have availability from the start of June on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday due to the mother going back on maternity leave. Leanne
  8. I got sent a voucher for food from stone gates pubs this week to use I'm the grove! Got very excited for a moment thinking it was a sign that it was re opening but having walked past today- obviously not. Can't believe they are still advertising it when it's been closed for so long.
  9. We love the Santa trap, the dinosaur that pooped Christmas,
  10. Christmas tree grotto set up selling Christmas trees opposite the grove pub. Trees been there fora few days now so might have some off cuts?
  11. Portable North Pole is great, we have done it the last couple of,years and my daughter loved it
  12. My daughter went to the pre-school and my son is currently there. In both cases I turned down school nursery places so my children could carry on attending the pre-school. It's a beautiful setting, great outdoor play areas in the garden and on the veranda. The staff are great, brilliant with the children. The lady who is in charge comes across as being a bit brisk and snappy but she is great with the kids and keeping everything organised. The staff have been great with my son especially who has been a bit slow in speaking and are really doing all they can to help and improve his learning skills. They organise lovely events, lots of crafts and cooking and gardening etc. The came up with a new initiative to tach rugby to the children and it's been so successful that southwark council is rolling it out across nurseries throughout southwark. If there is anything in particular that you would like to ask send me a pm.
  13. Can second all in one, our kids love the play area in the garden.
  14. I've had my hair cut by Linda a few times and been really happy with it. My daughter too. She has been there for quite a few years previously as heavenly hair and nails but had a refit and rename in the summer but still the same staff just nicer facilities. The treatment room at the back looks nice but not had anything done yet.
  15. We go to the Santa at winter wonderland in Hyde park. It is free and if you arrive for it opening at 10am the qui isn't too long, lovely grotto, great Santa in really lovely suit ( real beard) really does loom the part and it's free. They don't get a present but usually a bag of coins or some choc. They take a pic which you can buy but they don't stop you taking your own so no obligation to buy the lovely morning on the kiddies Christmas rides.
  16. Hi where is Emmanuel marshal? Had bad experiences at Barnett too so be good to know of somewhere else local.
  17. Hi he died outside 67 overhill road. Who puts up the blue plaques is it the council or someone local?
  18. I had mirena coil fitted and I bled heavily for 8'weeks straight but then nothing after that everything stopped which was great but after 2 years had it removed as I put on lots of weight, bad skin and bad mood swings when period should have been due, but know friends who had it with no problems at all .
  19. Can recommend the one in crystal palace, don't know if we were really unlucky but when we have got fish from peckham they have died within a month or 2. Switched to crystal palace and didn't so anything different and they lasted a few years! If you want a tank I was about to throw ours out. It will need a bit of scrubbing as it's got a lot of alge inside from having to keep it in direct sunlight for, last couple of months. But when our last fish died we decided not to restock. If you want it you are more than welcome just sen me a pm for address. It's a nice size tank with light( bulb just replaced last month) and filter etc. Be fine with a good clean out.
  20. Him can second mason and green good taxi service and god car seat every time we have booked them
  21. Mine began to find themselves once I showed them the dummy corner at about 6 months I think
  22. Hi both of mine had dummies but we were strict and kept it to only sleeping/ falling asleep. Only exception to the rule was if they were sick and needed comfort. We had the same problem and we used cot bumpers to stop them falling between the bars and also I tied a muslin square into a little pouch into the corner of the cot and put a few spares in there. Then when when cried instead of just giving the dummy back I would take their hand and lead them to the dummy store in the corner to get one themselves. After a couple of nights it was solved and they had got used to just reaching into the same place each time they needed one.it did mean they needed about 5 in there before I went to bed but it meant that I got some sleep. My friend used this trick after our success and it worked for her too. We allowed them to have the dummies until they were 2 and 3/4 then did cold turkey, got them to gather up all their dummies and put them in a bag for the dummy fairy which we hung on their bedroom door and in the morning there was a present waiting, they went to sleep the first night fine, think one of them woke once and had a bit if a cry but was fine once we reminded them the dummy fairy had taken them, it's not as bad as you expect once they are old enough to understand. Think it would be harder with younger children. Good luck
  23. Whs in forest hill had it at one point not been up recently though.
  24. Can highly recommend Linda at heavenly hair and nails near barsolona and opposite what was the grove pub. She cut my daughters hair and it was the best cut that my dauGhter has had from all the local, salons, layered it to look thicker and really spent time on her rather than just combing it through then snipping a cm off the bottom as she has had elsewhere. They are closed this week for a refurb but def worth giving them a try next week when they re open.
  25. They will love it. My daughter went there and my son is there at the moment. We were offered a nursery place at our daughters school but we turned it down so my son could go to dvps. Even though it means an extra hour walking for me each day! It's lovely, the staff are fantastic with the kids, they are out playing all the time and always have projects on the go and visitors coming in to see the children. This term alone my son has been in a fire engine, met police dogs, had a rugby session, and took part with theatre tots and art sessions. It's a great nursery.
