  1. I have seen joggers but I think it's supposed be trousers. Don't bother with the branded official uniform though(jumpers) they cost a lot and they loose them so easily and I don't think they wash and last well. Sainsburys and George at asda do the right colour blue jumpers and just buy polo shirts rather than proper shirts as they don't get a lot of time for pe changes so it's tricky with all the buttons for them. Much easier to pull a polo shirt on instead.
  2. Highly recommend Dulwich village pre school. Great location 5 mins walk from the old grove pub on l lane. Surrounded by green fields, outside access in all weather on the covered veranda, staff are great. Lovely garden and veg patch for growing etc. Both my children went there and loved it. And ?10 per morning or afternoon session as its a charity based non profit nursery. Also great that they can do full days if you pay for 2 sessions so no such a big leap for them when they start school.
  3. The house is ok just a few tiles broken. The lady who lives there said they were all ok and no one hurt. Just the wind over the weekend.
  4. I know you can get a boat from little Venice if you want to add another element to the day, you get on at little Venice and it comes down to a back gate into London zoo apparently beats ques at main entrance.

  6. Yes unfortunately it's not jb1881 cat. I found that thread and rang him but after discussing the little one outside our house we realised it wasn't the same cat. I'm really Hoping we just have new neighbours and it just wanted to play with my children/wanted attention. It hung around till Our children went to bed and then there was no sign. Hoping it's gone home.
  7. Here is a pic of the cat.
  8. Hi a small black and white cat has followed our children home from school today. Has tried numerous times to get in the house when the children were playing in the garden. Very friendly and not seen her in the street Before. Concerned it could be lost. Quite small and thin and I think very young as it was chasing a ribbon around with my daughter. If it's yours and its lost rather than a new neighbour give me a ring and I can bring it in until you get here.07966082631 I've got pictures but can't seem to attach them. Will Keep trying.
  9. Hi do you still need towels? About To post that I have some if anyone wanted them before I throw them out. Will send you a pm.
  10. The lilac door is fab. In laws stayed there a fe times.
  11. Hi yes unfortunately due to number restrictions nurseries tend to have long waiting lists for under 3 years old children. Nurseries and childminders are not allowed as many younger children. I'm not sure what the allowance for nurseries is but I'm a childminder and we are only allowed 3 under 5 years old and only 1 or these can be under 1. But we are allowed more older children. This results in long waiting lists for the younger children and why a lot of people end up using us childminders until the children turn between 2-3 when more places are available. You really don't get an idea of how the nurseries are run from websites which is why many don't bother. You will know if a nursey or childminders setting is the one for you when you go and visit. I can highly reccomend dulwich village preschol but the youngest they accept is 2 years old but really worth a visit and see if you like it. good luck in your search.
  12. Hi Dulwich village pre school does. Fantastic nursery. Few mins walk along grove te old grove pub on lordship lane.
  13. It's up to the childminder to decide. Some offer a lower hourly rate but get paid time off. Some charge half pay and some nothing at all. I don't charge anything for my time off but that is purely my descision as I don't want any negotations on when I take my holiday.
  14. We did a build a bear party for my daughter. Really good value for money and bought Tshirts for the children to decorate for their bears. A few party games and food and it was finished. Worth a look www.bemybear.co.uk
  15. I'm doing the adult classes at the prep on a Monday night and they are brilliant. 5 weeks we have been doing it now and I'm really enjoying it. We have learned waltz, quickstep, cha cha cha and just started jive. It's the same teacher doing all 3 sessions and he is lovely, very good at going through anything you don't understand and makes it fun. Def reccomend giving it a try.
  16. Both of my children went to Dulwich village preschool u til they started in reception and loved it, very sad to leave and the staff are brilliant. Highly recommend it.
  17. There was police tape blocking off the pavement at 11am when I walked past with no sign of ambulance etc and police searching the road so maybe 2 incidents not related?
  18. Hi mason and green are very helpful and really nice cars. Just going to say though that depending on where the venue is in central London they may have to take a large detour to come back for 11pm as they close all the bridges near central London at 8.15 pm for the fireworks on nye. Been caught out by this ourselves and paid a fortune in a black cab as they had to go round all of the closures to better to have a pre booked and quoted price taxi.
  19. Considering this is such a famoly friendly area this forum has always been quite negative when any thread mentions children in pubs. Used to get me down too but I started to notice it was the same names cropping up again and Again being negative about lots of threads not just children in pubs so came to the conclusion that there is a lot of bitter people who like coming on here to stir up trouble rather than offer support and advice. I don't generally now read any sections other than the family bits because of this. Please don't take it personally people haven't been nice on this subject for years.
  20. Hi depending on where you are there is a lovely group on a Tuesday morning at the ivy house 10.30-11.15 Margaret's music. Lots of drumming using instruments New songs that we hadn't heard before going there. ?5.50 per session and ?1 for every extra child. She has a Facebook page search for Margaret's music ltd for timetables and locations.
  21. They really need to do something with it soon as it looks like squatters are in there again. Writing has appeared in the upstairs windows in last couple of weeks despite it all being boarded up.
  22. Another thumbs up for goodrich, my daughter has thrived there, loves going to school and is very happy, my son will also be starting in September in reception. If you don't know any other children who will be starting in reception and wanted to do a few meet ups so the children have some familiar faces when they start let me know, leanne
