Poor thing! it is not nice when you have to go to A&E as they make you wait 3 to 4 hours; hope your little one is better now. I am dissapointed as I really like my doctor at Elm Lodge Surgery

I had similar problems when my child was nearly 3; waking up every 2 hours with separation anxiety; I moved to her room for a month but it dint changed much as she wanted me to stay awake looking after her; we had to do sleep training again and let her cry. She improved but later on we moved her with her older sister as she also started waking at night; we decided they didn't want to sleep alone and now they are sharing a room and we have full night sleeps again; one year ago was a night mare though

However I do know a child who moved there from another local school and it took him a long time to settle; he missed his friends from the other school a lot; school helped him and he made new friends but I don't think it was the same for him; it depends a lot on your children and how adaptable they are; DHJS is very good but the majority of the kids will come from the infant school with friendships already established; go with your children if you can and consider their opinion

Yes. They did give me an app for Peckham but it is not convenient when you don't drive and have a child with an ear infection as it is not walking distance

Agree with Sanity girl; I don't feel is that privilege; very normal people to me; some middle class people, some people in lower income; some teachers and part time workers, some stay at home mums. My child goes there and is happy; I do not have anything else to compare it with so it is difficult to give an oppinion. I did go to Heber for a tour and had the feeling it still needs to improve a lot in terms of sports and other activities; children there seem happy though.

Have anybody has similar experiences lately with them? I just find it unbelievable that within 15min all the appointments for 3 doctors were booked for the full day or maybe there is some sort of advance booking I am not aware of. I was always happy with this surgery so am a bit disappointed as it is 2 days in a row and I started calling at 8am. Yesterday was understandable as the surgery closes at 1pm and maybe some doctors take the day off.

Exactly the same is happening at Elm lodge surgery in herne hill; even though when I went there this week it was empty which is very unusual; I think it was one of the best surgeries around

I have been unable to get an app. In the last two days; by 8.15am they are fully booked; there are 3 doctors there. I Went there on Wednesday to see the nurse and it was empty; how can they be fully booked? It used to be a very good surgery and I was very proud of it; never had a problem in the past; is this some sort of strike because of NHS Cuts? They want to send me to Peckham; according to the lady in reception all the surgeries in London are fully booked today??????? Is people getting app online? What do I have to make so much NHS contributions if I can't see a doctor when my child is sick?

Yes; distance is the main problem for most of the good states around Dulwich; we live in East Dulwich and are probably 1000 meters from the Charter, and a big further from Prendergast Hilly Fields and Haberdashers Aske's Academies Federation. I heard they are planning to open at Haberdashers Aske's in East Dulwich though.

Thank you. We are considering all the options: What's the charter like socially? do they do any languages? extra curricular activities/sports? do kids go to university after they finish secondary school?

Ideally we want a state school; plan C is because we don't know nor have visited any girls state schools in the area; didn't know about Sydenham School and I think it is worth to look at for what you say. Thank you.

Not responses; my guess is that there are no many good state secondary schools for girls around Dulwich. Our plan B will be The Charter School but I am still not convinced it is for our Daughter; What is your opinion about the Charter? Plan C will be going private, e.g. Sydenham high? any families with kids at any of those schools who can give us an opinion.

Hi, my daughter is in year 4th now and I have started looking at secondary schools; Ideally we would like her to attend a good girls state school within reasonable commute/travelling distance from Dulwich; we are considering the Grey Coat school but don't know what the other options are? Are there any other good state schools for girls not too far from Dulwich; e.g. in Bromley, Beckhenham. Thank you
