  6. My child attends swimming lessons at Crystal Palace sports center, I am very happy with the quality of teaching, however I have noticed he does get sick a bit more often, I think is due to the chlorine. I want to change him to a UV treated swimming pool. Does anyone know which swimming pools in Dulwich are UV treated and that provide good quality swimming lessons. Thank you

  10. Thank You Renata and everyone for the information. I know now how the system work and I can plan around it, travelling before year 2 finishes and come back a couple of weeks after they start year 3 seems like the best option, just 10 weeks, so it won't be that disruptive. My son is in state education and we will be back to live in the same place.
  11. Great! Thank you, we've better do some teaching while we are away then.
  12. Sorry, I realized my post was not very clear/specific: My child attends Reception at an infant school at the moment, which just goes until year 2, we will go away when he finishes year two, we wouldn't apply for the junior school for that year, but the following year, when we will be back. We don't need the school to hold a place for us, as it will be a different school. As we are going to be travelling when we go away, my child won't attend school nor will he be home schooled, so he will have to start where he left. He will be just one year older than his peers. He started Reception being 4 years and 4 months old. I believe that is possible? Hope that is better Thanks a lot for the information
  13. Hi, We are planning to go away for part of the school year, from 3 to 6 months; can my child miss that school year? When we come back, the children will still be at school, can I keep my child at home for the rest of that year until the new school year start? Do I need a special permission? I assume we need to apply again for when we come back and he will be a bit older than his classmates, but we don?t mind that. Thank you
  14. Hi, Does anyone know where is the nearest girl guiding rainbow unit to East Dulwich, how much does it cost, when and what time do they meet. Thank you
  15. Yes, the furthest distance offered in the first round and probably how far they went last year to offer a place. I will email the school, if I can't get this information through the forum Thank you
  16. Does anyone know which was the furthest distance for a place offered at the Dulwich Hamlet junior school this year and last one? Thank you,
  17. It was the same with my oldest daughter, she was very determined to dress herself from a very early age. What a nightmare! 20 months seems to be the peak for tantrums, distraction and give her a choice seemed to work sometimes; otherwise just relax and wait until they get over that stage. The positive side is that She is now a very independant girl and very helpful, which helps a lot now that we have a second one (who will be 20 months soon. Awrrrrrrrrrr!.
