Hope & Greenwood Roullier White The Card/Stationery shop on the same side of the road as Somerfield Grace and Favour Walsh Glazing Bells of Dulwich All friendly and lovely and very helpful! Great thread *Bob*! spymum (Blog: Posh Mum) -
Thank you Talisman!

Another latecomer! Please, please can I come too? If there is still room? (I am a rabid Grand Designs Watcher by the way, especially now it's on the other cable channels. I must confess that I also have my moments of shouting things at the telly along the lines of 'more money than sense!!' and 'are they mad!? - but also 'WOW! Look at that!!') spymum (Blog: Posh Mum)

Agreed!

Well done Katiesa!! I'd be happy to help out! I am sure that a funky East Dulwich WI would be hugely popular. spymum (Blog: Posh Mum)

Snowboarder, their website does look cool. And BawdyNan, surely you can like food, chat and style without being a 'surrendered wife'! Ye Gods, the very thought! Journos India Knight and Caitlin Moran like cakes, chat and fashion - they are not 'surrendered' or Stepfordy' in any way - life doesn't have to be deep and serious all the time! The WI was a bit 60ish and blue-rinsey but the newer London ones are young and fun. And Huguenot - if there is ever a trendy WI in East Dulwich I am sure that your shopping+cake appreciating self would be more than welcome!! :) spymum (Blog: Posh Mum)

Egg based outrage at EDD...now quite scared
spymum replied to bawdy-nan's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
They sell a mean Harissa paste! It compliments my cous cous a treat. Ya gotta love harissa so ya gotta love EDD! That's my (rather frivolous) two cents anyway. spymum (Blog: Posh Mum) -

Mikewbate - 'Oooh you are naughty; but I like it!' A Calendar would be fun! Cupcakes would suffice for me, I think!

And she's back..... Katiesa - there is one for Dulwich; Kingswood Dulwich WI (Kent West Kent Federation): St Margaret Clitheroe Church Hall, Dulwich Wood Park, Dulwich SE21; 3rd Wed, 10.00am Hmmm. What's it like? Does anyone know about it or have friends that go? It doesn't sound very 'Islingtony', and it is a morning group which makes it a problem for worker bees! spymum (Blog: Posh Mum)

I read about that too; it sounds like fun! The W.I is pretty hip and trendy these days - not just jam and Jerusalem. Is there a W.I around here? (disappears off to trawl the internet). spymum (Blog: Posh Mum)

You are correct, sir - but sadly that is me to a T! spymum (Blog: Posh Mum)

Old Alleynians is a great club and very friendly! The Mini Alleynians tag rugby is brilliant too - a real labour of love for the coaches. The season is about to end, but I believe there is a end-of-barbeque this weekend sometime, if you want to have a look. spymum (Blog: Posh Mum)

Happy St George's Day! I just wish that I could go down to Trafalgar Square at 7.30 this evening and be a part of the Spamalot coconut shell orchestra! spymum (B;og: Posh Mum)

Arrgh! Get thee behind me you 5' 2" Satan! And the coolest mum at the school gate had hers on this morning as well! OK - I give in; I'm going to get myself a pair. The only question is, what colour..... (heh heh). spymum (Blog: Posh Mum) PS: Hope the toe is healing up nicely - I last broke a toe falling out of a cab somewhat worse for the wear. OK - very worse for the wear. How embarrassing. ;-)

MightyRoar, what a good test! And we don't have to limit it to our wonderful Lordship Lane; no! We can take our weeing toddlers to Heals, Fenwicks and Harvey Nicks too and see how graciously they cope. Eventually we could compile a guide, like the Michellin! This is a great idea - any publishers out there?! spymum (Blog: Posh Mum)

My boys have them and all my friends have them but I have yet to take the plunge! They are so comfy and pretty that I wrote a whole post about them ;-) - but this still hasn't helped me to make up my mind! I worry that short women of 5' 2" cannot get away with flat, orthopaedic shoes, no matter how pretty are! spymum (Blog: Posh Mum)

Cat poo is awful but fox poo is truly appalling! I have my tomatoes out and they are ramping away! I'm more worried about lack of rain than the danger of frost - last years hose pipe ban was murder on my arms (desperately watering my brand new lawn with buckets of water from my water butt)! My magnificent muscles now rival those of The Rock - so not a good look when you are a 5' 2" middle aged mum! spymum (Blog: Posh Mum)

How funny! I wonder how many guineas my 'Oh My God' would be worth?! Hey journalist guys! I'm available for outraged quotes and general chuntering at a reasonable price! spymum (Blog: Posh Mum)

I have been looking at that cactus for years (almost crashing into parked cars as I drive by!). I think it is really wonderful how he takes care of it and packs it up for the winter in its little 'house' - a real sign that autumn is nearly here. it is now almost too big, the owner needs to make a bigger one! spymum (Blog: Posh Mum)

Me too. Don't be sorry Mockney! spymum (Blog: Posh Mum)

Scruffy, Dulwich and I are very desirable and yummy too Mr Mikewbate! And we can certainly give Clapham-Mum a run for her money - I know as I was there this morning, and the competition was quite below par. Aren't you the cheeky one! spymum (Blog: Posh Mum)

I concur! The pretty little cottages just down from the Old Nuns Head pub are supposed to be where the convent was, and it is rumored that there are underground escape passages below the Green. The Abbottess's head was allegedly chopped off during the reformation, poor soul. Nunhead is one of my favourite places, especially the fabulous cemetery. spymum (Blog; Posh Mum)

Ok, so we have full ID on Clapham Man/Woman. Good. Avoidance measures may be taken as appropriate. But how to ID East Dulwich Man! What are he be mostly wearing?! (I'm not a cross-dresser, this is for the benefit of my fashion-challenged husband!) spymum (Blog: Posh Mum)
