  1. What bloody planet are you on. You think a tube driver getting paid 42grand is too much? why is that then? they carried 1.1billion people last year all spending a shed load of money within our economy. When Bob took over a tube driver earnt the same as a bus driver 27grand. now they earn 42grand so good for them. Only some pompous little wally who has probably never done their job or carried out their responsibilites would start lecturing people on what they should be earning. I recently walked from Nunhead to the Lovely new East London line at Brockley in 5mins, then climbed off my lovely new air conditioned train onto the jubilee line in under 15mins. Wow i thought what a wonderful new addition to the brilliant transport links that Nunhead already has. As I shuttled into the West End I thought the guys driving this can have 42grand any day. Reading in the metro on the way in that conservative head of Croydon Council awarded himself a 12% payrise, an extra 12grand a year to go on top of his already 115grand + pay, I thought good luck to them. so wonder on ....who cares
  2. Oh right , calling you a bitch in response to you calling Bob Crow a Moron. As for demeanor dear it was pleasant I even said night night! You gave it out as you have done many times in the past so you got it back. If your mates in admin did not like it i suspect it was because one of their little friends was getting a well deserved and long overdue tickle. Try your attitude out off the blog, maybe next time you are out in ED, and let me know what the response is? Dont be surprised if in the reality outside of this arena someone drops a half chewed olive in your white wine spritzer. Now as for TFL i hope someone from it shuts the bus doors on your sling backs !
  3. Watched Vince 'the hat' Cable today in front of select committee, they were questioning him about banks lending and asked why the chancellor had declined the invitation to attend. After his rather waffling response the Chair of the committee replied that they had the Monkey but the organ grinder had clearly chosen to stay at home!!! I almost fell over my shoes laughing.
  4. Oh sorry Loz think I lost a post. As for reading the Gaurdian i am really not sure what credentials you think that gives you. Judging by your comments, none is the answer. And before you and the rest of silly mates whinge about the use of the word bitch, throwing around the word Moron at people you have never met aint very clever. " term for a person with a mental age between 8 and 12, and a common insult for a person considered stupid " I can only judge you on the ridiculous twaddle u type, so if the cap fits wear it with pride.
  5. oh how you walked into that one you little divy ! Its cause you act like a byyyaattch ! so now you get slapped. night night muppet.
  6. I agree, thank god for some intelligent comments. This woman Loz is clearly an idiot persuaded only by the stupid right wing copy that she reads. If she Knew anything about Bob Crow and what he has achieved she would realise that the only bloody moron is herself and her limited grasp on life. As for run rampant under Labour, what bloody planet is she on? Labour actually rolled back some laws to make it harder. What she is actually banging on about is losing your right to 'withdraw your labour', its fascism dearest whichever way you dress it up. If she can't see the irony in those 3 headlines then that says it all. Some of this lot have had it far too easy on this forum for way to long, its about time some of them got slapped down and hard. If they dont like it, then they should follow their moronic mate Huguenot and switch to invisible. Then finally they can get to exist in their perfect isolation.
  7. Southwark may be the biggest gainer , but its not because of ED dears! And no way are Houseprices anywhere near some of 2007 prices! if anything its 4years of static growth. I think the best specfic indicator is what houses / flats actually achieved. Obviously if a house was on for ?670000 in Crystal Palace Road and acheived ?620000 or ?695000 in Melbourne grve and achieved ?628000 cant see how thats 94% of asking price? These wider figures can be well massaged, the Land Registry can not.
  8. no i think the admin here are pretty strict, often moving all non ED issues to other areas on the blog. Personally I believe in the wider community
  9. nethouseprices is your barometer. Muschamp Road - ?590000 in 2007 - 630000 in 2011. Crystal Palace Road - ?675000 in 2007 - 620000 in 2011.
  10. Dropped, considerably. Don't be fooled by the what's for sale price they are achieving no where near this. 60+ grand below asking price offers and estate agents raising them to counter this. Buyers are not having any of it and are pulling asking prices down before they even offer. Its only serious cash money buyers who are going for the larger properties. Everyone in mid size houses, effected by pay freezes are stuck , they can't make the jump so the market has really shrunk. If Gordon had not ringfenced the Bank of England interest rates at 0% it would be a bloody massacre out there right now.
  11. not as squashed as your little lot james, they have totally had it mate. Now your liberal mates are threatening the unions i see; blue collar workers not your demographic any more then?
  12. They will be fine, u watch. As for the conservatives they will only ever be Dandies.
  13. God that pygmy really did some deal there ! Also only just stopped laughing at the BBC 6 opening headlines. 1. " The IMF says that the Con/Dem plan is 'appropriate' and its not the time to change" 2. " The head of the IMF appears in a New Court to deny charges of attempted rape, sexual assualt + imprisonment. Should he be convicted he faces 25years in prison 3. " Vince Cable warns unions that should they strike over cuts then the Con/Dem's will " further increase anti trade union laws. Already the worst in the western world. its bloody laughable if it were not so serious.
  14. Nice face lift, but surely an absolute joke being made to pay ?4.30 or ?4.00 for an adult lane swim. And in a warm pool, with confused swimmers going in wrong directions creating waves like the beach. Not to mention the inability of some to work out the differences in Fast, medium and slow lane designation. When the Olympic pool at crystal palace is ?2.20 off peak it just defies belief, is the water in ED organic now, or fed from a spring? Bonkers
  15. Oh and Huguenot I know that my comings and goings are somewhat difficult for you to see, but LOOK - Financial titan Terry Smith's opinion is basically that Huguenot, East Dulwich's own financial Phil Gramm, has been talking out of his batty since time ! brap brap brap.
  16. Now as James B is probably not allowed to start a thread that in anyway admonishes members of their new party so I will. Yes they are loving it ....although this cracker below will wipe the smile of their little bloody faces. Financial titan Terry Smith's Tullett Prebon brokerage today issued the most pessimistic forecast for the UK economy from a City institution in months. In a hard-hitting advisory note to clients entitled "No way out? Why the British economy is in very deep trouble", Tullett Prebon warned clients the outlook for growth was "exceptionally bleak" due to Britain's addiction to householders' debt and public spending. Now people are winding down their debts and the taps have been turned off public spending, the economy has little chance of recovering any time soon, the report argues. Tullett claims 58% of economic output is now from sectors dependent on either debt or public spending: property, finance, health, education, construction and public administration. "These sectors are now set to contract rather than expand, which renders economic growth implausible And, without growth, there may be no way of avoiding a debt disaster." Chancellor George Osborne and the Opposition are both basing their policies on the assumption that somehow growth can be restored, writes Tullett economist Dr Tim Morgan. However, he adds: "We see no reason whatever to assume this." Morgan is extremely pessimistic about the Government's debt reduction strategy, not because he is opposed to it - he agrees it is vital to cut Britain's deficit - but because of the "mathematical implausibility" of the economy reaching the 2.8% growth rate that the plan depends upon. "If this doesn't happen - and we are convinced it can't - the deficit reduction plan will come apart at the seams." Morgan said: "There is no such thing as a pain-free recession but people think we've just had one. The only reason we got through it was Government borrowing replaced private borrrowing, but that has now stopped." He said living standards could continue falling for another five years with inflation staying high and pay barely rising. The pain would be worst for pensioners and people in moderately paid work with mortgages. Although Britain might avoid double-dip recession it will "flat-line" for the foreseeable future with feeble growth of 1% a year or less, not enough to generate the taxes needed to cut the deficit. He added: "You don't need to look far between the lines to see that the Government's deficit reduction plans just don't work." Tullett director Michael Fallon is a senior Conservative MP on the Treasury Select Committee.
  17. Ohh how naughty pugwash, very tit for tat this is indeed !
  18. " I'm against sure thing elections and safe seats it leads to complacency a d taking residents for granted which hopefully ill never succumb to. " !!! Oh well that fell on deaf ears, more of the same then....pin the tail on the donkey for me plse. And strafer please get a grip " But of all the local councillors, here he is opening himself up every day. I take my hat off to him for that at least " he is the only one that the moderator has allowed to have his own thread ! ..... Hey guess what >>Simon Cowell only does xfactor becuase he just wants to really discover talented people ???
  19. " A census taker once tried to test me, I ate his liver with an organic mixed seeded flute and some borrlotti beans from East Dulwich Deli, alongside a nice bottle of 2009 Gerard Bouley Sancerre from Green + Blue." mm delicious !
  20. ?Hello there Huguenot and thanks for the response. You?re entitled to disagree with me but you're not entitled to insult me or make unhelpful judgements about who I might be and where I?m from. Because I have a different view point to your own, that I clearly explained without being aggressive (unlike your own conduct) does not make me an idiot. " I completely agree how he has not been banned from posting (sin binned) for a week or 2 is shocking indeed! Maybe he is admin or something?? Not only that but he turned me invisible , I still cant see my hands when I type and its effecting the way I structure sentences, ,much too loz's annoyance.
  21. Hi JB The thing is back at the same time I am sure I could have said "looking at the finances I could have kept it open". The message it sent shutting it down was appalling, especially in relation to that particular area. Cuts to the Arts, need to be resisted for many reasons. ?Livesey Children's Museum - sadly we did need at that time to save ?168k of revenue costs? To me, and know I know its 168k it kind of makes it worse. From a residents perspective, you would have to ask how much did the council spend on that bloody fence running across goose green, to put in and then to remove ? What ever potsthis stuff comes out of it looked really bad. Surely you could have put the same amount of effort raising funds for the Livesey, turning it into a wonderful space, as has been done on the ED gym/pool project. It can not all be about shoring up votes. You were never going to lose ED, no way. Why could your party not have been more altruistic their approach? that?s the kind of politics I want to see; striking a balance between professional politics and politics for the community as a whole. That in a way is the problem with what Nick Clegg has done, he has gone to far one way and not managed to strike a balance. I fear there is no way back for him. I am certainly not saying that Labour gets it right all the time either. Cuts to the scrutiny of the administration seems more than fishy indeed, obviously its political manouvering. But this is the cycle that at some point some one has to be big enough, take the risk, to stop. Otherwise we will always be destined for more of the same. FTP , AV , PR or pin the tail on the donkey.
  22. James you are very very naughty... you know the lib dems only run 4.64% of councils around the country, remember you just lost 747 councillors. So not sure how many libraries you could close anyway? Such a politician?s answer from you I am shocked. As for children?s sure start and libraries, not sure that was aimed at you? But know you have reminded me , can I remind you that before the con/dem cuts began, it was your Liberal run council that shut the Children?s Museum on the Old Kent Road. Remember voting on that? along with the walking undead with eyebrows X council leader Nick Stanton. Funny ?.Nick must have started the cuts early, before the conservatives stole his thunder. As an aside, forget about limiting it to a gym upgrade and a foyer make over, your X Liberal run council managed to find the funds to build a whole new wing for the East Dulwich gym at the same time, very nice. Oh well rob from the poor and give to the....?? Maybe that was the moral question I was chewing over the other day. And don?t get naughty again by talking about different funding pots!
  23. And so are you watercolors TG !
  24. sheesh did I say vast, what i meant to say was... " The first point to make is that Labour's criticisms of the cuts have largely struck home. In terms of whether they are fair, a solid majority now perceive the cuts as unfair....This includes 25% of Conservative supporters and over half (53%) of remaining Liberal Democrat voters.....50% of British people also think the cuts are too deep, compared to only 27% who think they are about right " YouGov (source)..........back at you! So not grabbing wild figures of youtube, just showing BBC news clip where half a million people went on the March for Alternative......note use of word Alternative. It shows the largest mass protest since the anti-iraq war demo in 2003 and the largest trade union organised rally since the end of the 2nd world war. At the time of the anti-iraq war demo opinion was somewhat divided.....but as below polls show it now seems a 'large' majority disagree. YouGov poll - March 20 Start of war 53% For 39% Against 8% Dont know YouGov poll - June 5-7 2007 30% For 55% Against 15% Dont Know All I am saying is that you can not really overlook a March of this size. And as the ED hero Vince 'vinny' Cable or Uncle Vin 'the hat' stated recently, relating to the depth of the cuts. " you aint seen nothin yet " (Source TTilling - OverEgg.Gov) And if the 'dam' Gordon constructed around interest rate rises is finally breached by the tory right, just watch ED mobilise and swell those marching numbers!
