untilParents of Year 11 students are invited to join a talk with Counselling Psychologist Anna Jurek on Wednesday 28th February at Copper Beech Cafe in Dulwich. This is a free but ticketed event - book here. How to navigate GCSE exam stress Your children have been preparing for their GCSEs for the last 1.5 of their school life – they know how important these exams are and stress and anxiety are on the rise. At this stage of the school term your child may be presenting with: worries and anxieties, panic attacks being unable to concentrate and revise insomnia loss of appetite or craving only unhealthy foods hopelessness about the future disengagement in activities they previously enjoyed low mood and loneliness risky and self-harming activities Some of these symptoms are a healthy response to exams – we need a bit of motivational stress to be able to perform well. However, the stress response becomes problematic when it has an impact on our physical and emotional health. As parents and carers, we sometimes feel lost in our responses supporting young people; we have been there, we know that our children will go through the exams and will survive them. However, children won’t find this useful – they need support with a variety of approaches, often designed and adjusted just for them. Join us on 28th February at 7.30pm, where Anna will share her ideas and tips on how to support your children while they are preparing and taking GCSE exams. At the end of the talk there will be time for questions.

Ed_ Pete thanks for your messages. Several members of our community want us to stay open for as long as we can, for multiple reasons, and we have therefore decided to allow our members to make their own decisions. We have cancelled all courses and weekend sessions, and have repeatedly highlighted the need for excellent attention to cleanliness and hygiene, both to our members and our staff. In addition, we have heavily publicised government guidelines surrounding self-isolation. For anyone who can't or doesn't want to attend the Club, these home videos will offer another option. We realise that there are lots of different views on this, and appreciate your feedback.

*** Further to government announcements, JAGS Sports Club and CBC is closed, with immediate effect.*** If you are self-isolating, please check out our selection of online workouts that you can try out at home: https://jagssportsclub.co.uk/home-workouts/ There are multiple exercises that include Yoga, Zumba, Pilates and Strength training. In addition, we are working with some of our instructors to record a series of 25 minute workouts that you can also follow. It's really important to maintain a healthy body and mind at this difficult time, and we hope this goes some way to helping you achieve that. All the best, JAGS Sports Club

Jags vs Dulwich Fusion
JAGS Sports Club Team replied to Emily00's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi Emily00, Our rates here at JAGS are very competitive and we feel we have fantastic facilities, why not pop in and have a tour and chat with our membership manager or reception team... no pressure, simply come and have a look.. As mentioned above it all depends on what you are looking for in regards to usage, our new website has all the information on what we offer and times etc... http://www.jagssportsclub.co.uk/ Although as mentioned above Alleyns is closing the club will not see a rise in usage of the pool, due to an already busy pool timetable we are not in a position to offer any of the Alleyns community groups any space. If you would like any further information please do not hesitate to drop me a PM or call the club on 0208 613 6500. Many thanks JAGS -
