My gorgeous daughter needs play mates at weekends. As much as I can entertain her I know that she needs to spend time with children of her own age during weekends and holiday periods as I did at her age. I would love her to expand her social group. I am more than Happy to look after her and any potential friends and likewise if suitable parents are good and safe for her to be looked after by them. She is very bright and confident and participates in gymnastics, horse riding,swimming, learning skate board and general activities that one would expect. If there are any good, educated nice potential matches out there I would love to hear from you. Obviously we would need to meet to make sure of suitability. Regards Nic

Hi all Over the last few weeks I have spotted a few small (abouy 3.5 inches long) lizard, gheko type things, in my garden at the top of Sydenham Hill. I have seen similar creatures in warmer climates like the Med and North Africa. The lizards are a pale yellowish brown. Has anyone else seen these? Nic

Hi all Did any one see the large contingent of heavy metalists converging on Overhill Road this morning? This was obviously a pilgrimage to Bon Scott who died of overdoing it on the 19th of Feb 1980. I think it is his birthday today. It was great!! Lots of long haired head bangers all wearing sleeveless denim jackets festooned with AC/DC badges and middle aged women with tatoos of the man on thier thighs and calves. It was pissing down with rain and I quessed by the flags they were wearing that they may have been German. A colourful spectacle it was. I saw I think the bands first gig at the Marquee in the late to mid 70's There you go.

Rachel and Julian were good friends and will always be missed by friends and family. They had a joint funeral in the chapel in Dulwich village which had to be one of the saddest experienced I and many others had to endure. They were a lovely couple.

Hi The Gala Bingo hall in Camberwell has just been sold to an African church franchise much to the annoyance of many. It is said that there is a proliferation of these kind of establishments in the area. Many feel that it would better serve a wider section of the community as local hubs are being decimated at a rate of knots. There is no planning permission for this type of use. There is a group of community minded people who have this to say. Friends If you love Camberwell, if you care about Camberwell, read this. And, if you agree with it, pass it on to everyone you know who also cares about the future of this marvellous, unkempt, sadly run down part of London. WE might just be able to make it change for once and for all. There are links below which provide a lot of useful information. The people who got this work together are all people like you - who care - who came together in the space of a week. We just CARE and we desperately want to see Camberwell improve! The former Gala Bingo hall is a 2000 seater grade 2 listed building with fabulous art deco interiors a stone's throw from Camberwell Green, the centre of population to 40,000 people who have no substantial space for entertainment or civic congregation local to them. Last week Gala vacated the site and sold it, without notice, to an evangelical church group. This is a private sale. If, by some extraordinary turn of events driven by widespread consensus on the most desirable outcome for its future, the Gala site were to come under direct community control through the auspices of a Camberwell Community Development Trust, Camberwell's current forlorn, downtrodden and sorely neglected position could change dramatically for the better, for ever.
