  2. Cadets from Dulwich College and Alleyn's schools will march through Dulwich Village for a Remembrance service at the Old College, near Dulwich Park entrance. Please show you support for these young people.
  3. Others gave their lives so that you had the freedom of speech. Rememberance Sunday is one day in the year when we show our respect to those that served and remember all those who died in war. This morning over 300 cadets and officers from Dulwich College and Alleyn's schools, witnessed by their families and the residents of Dulwich, paraded and marched. The young men and women of those schools have shown dignity, integrity and respect this morning. It is poignant that this happens to also be the first Rememberance parade since Dulwich College Army section re badged to the Welsh Guards in recognition of Lt Mark Evison from the Welsh Guards, a former pupil of Dulwich College, who sadly was killed in 2009 from action in Afghanistan. I hope that people will think before they post messages on the forum that may offend others.

  6. Hi Johanna, You would be very welcome to try us out. Our junior section is called the Kings Pirates and we are having an open day on Sunday 6th September. Our sessions run from 1030hrs to 1200hrs every Sunday. Our club is very much about children having fun and is open to girls and boys. A lot of the children that attend have never played rugby before but we ensure that the training is safe and appropriate. If your child likes it then we do ask a membership fee. We really believe in making rugby accessible to all children and therefore have pitched our membership at ?50 for a season, which includes a club T shirt. There is also a reduction for any siblings. Happy to give you any more details, so do contact us if you have any questions. Look forward to seeing you on 6th September. Dieter
  7. Yes, good point regarding chores being part of 'normal family life' we talk a lot about team work, so can see where there would be a conflict with pocket money for jobs done. Love the idea of the 'Hard work jar'. My 5 year old nags me a lot for sweets these days and I hate it, and of course the little one has cottoned on already at 16 months, where as her big sister had no idea about sweets until a lot older. Sigh. Sillywoman - thanks for the 10p per week for each year of their life, that's a good way of setting an amount. So, do you let them spend in on whatever - e.g. if my big girl wants to buy 50p worth of sweets each week do I let her (eek?). Molly
