  1. Im not sure how DMC has become so oversubscribed. Two years ago it was bad, but recently it's becoming dangerous. Yesterday i couldn't get an appointment for my 3 year old so spent half an hour waiting on the phone this morning and i am almost entirely sure that he got an appointment very late today purely because of his age. It does concern me that other people are not able to be seen, and conversely we would be going to the walk-in centre today if i wasn't able to secure a spot for him today.
  2. Ditto for Hollie Stroud. I am a personal friend of hers and despite not having a hynobirth myself (I wish i had met her prior to my sons birth!) she is a wonderfully calm, personable and deep thinking person. She genuinely cares and talks very fondly of her "couples" that she tutors - annonymously of course :)
  3. Saw him - and the thief who dashed down the road right past me sniggering in broad daylight!! Sadly on my way back from yoga tonight perhaps an hour later there was a chap standing looking rather despondent over his bike chain that had been cut and bike stolen from around a tree outside the cook shop - so I fear the thief may have passed his misfortune onto someone else in quick succession :(
  4. Hi James, I wholeheartedly object to the proposal for a few reasons. Number one being - why on earth would we need another shop open through the night when you have the Costcutter and Londis open both either side of the coop?!??? Also, i live on Ashbourne Grove - the Lordship Lane end, and the disruption during the day is fine/acceptable, but to have it throughout night as well would make our living environment much less comfortable. I assume that they would have deliverys throughout the night - or perhaps later than normal and that would be the main problem for us (noise). Parking is always an issue - and always has been - but you accept that living so close to a busy high street. Thank you for objecting.
  5. Can't remember if Bea does a Monday - but check her out: Beas baby bop and she is fabulous.
  6. Me too! I have a 2 year old tornado so would need to be a venue where the doors lock! I'm a sewer (new machine for Xmas) but knit, make jewellery and would love to improve on crochet and learn how to quilt. Jooles
  7. Single mother of one here on a very tight budget. But yet i find that William Rose, not only are they a pleasure to deal with and knowledgable, but their meat is consistently cheaper than the supermarkets. And far superior in quality. The only reason why the rest of my shop is supermarket based is they accept the government vouchers that i am given for milk and veg for my son each week - otherwise i would no doubt rather spend my money locally, and like you all say - get the right quantity etc and quality.
  8. My vote would be for pie!!
  9. I got 51 out of my garden one night a month ago. Been under control since...
  10. I too feel more miffed with the chuggers on LL, and everytime I have offered the red haired chap who sits outside the co-op food as I too am short on change - he has refused. :(
  11. I thought that it must have been everyone getting their stinky last-years sandals out of the cupboard for an airing in liew of this weeks weather forecast...
  12. Attention Razors: I was sending a box of chocolates and a card to my father in New Zealand for his birthday. Yeah - I'm so middle-class for doing that! The horror! Grow up and try to get that chip off your shoulder. Life is better when your happy.
  13. I was one of the mums standing in the queue and waited 45 mins to be served. There were only 2 people serving for the majority of the time I was waiting. Since moving to ED 10 months ago, I have yet to have a good experience in that office :(
  14. I think the chap who sponsors this site and has a stall on north x rd market does them. He mainly does bikes - but have a feeling I've seen a sign advertising.....
  15. Ahh - thanks Sanity girl... Will try
  16. Ahhhh - know your troubles... My son is slim and very active too and we often have accidents. During the day - the best ones i've found are the Sainsbury's own brand Eco nappies. But at night we only use the Huggies now as they have a bigger absorbency (we've found) and got it down to maybe one accident per week now. But not a guarantee... Hope that helps??
  17. Your doing the right thing - take her to the GP to check it out. But i would also take her to the Townley Rd clinic on the drop in morning as they are the experts (more than a GP) when it comes to mothering/feeding etc. As far as i know though - tounge-tie does affect feeding but haven't had experience myself.
  18. Hey Belle, So how is the little one and yourselves going? Any improvement?
  19. Our little one only slept on me but at night was ok propped up in his bassinette. I have however got a friend who's little one slept in a baby car seat (not toddler one - like a stage 0) as they were so much more upright and the child was comfy in that position. I know spinal development is an issue, but maybe that is something you can address soon when you've found the right medication if you decided to try that option.
  20. Don't feel annoyed - it is a slow process of elimination and every doctor would be doing the same. You've done nothing wrong and in my opinion infacol is pretty mild and I would have thought it shouldn't have made it worse. Having said that - stop it if you feel it's not working and trust your gut instinct. Infacol i thought was given for colic babies and not reflux babies? Hang in there and keep asking until your little one is happier. Also don't forget to ask a friend or mum to come round and help - it is very stressful and just because your second time mum - don't feel that you can't say help! X
  21. Oh no! That's not quite what i meant - I would be very sad ifwe lost our boys hippo - as would he! I anthropomorphises everything so was hoping that if you'd known he was off on a journey it might make you smile... Or, you could also pop into the optometrists and see if anyone took him in there? ;)
  22. I saw him! He said hi and he was hanging out on the wierdy fold-out table that is chaned to the lamp-post outside the new optometrists - but this was two days ago i think??? He did have a small red spotted handkerchief tied to a stick slung over his shoulder and said that he was off to find his destiny and that he had had a great time with you guys...
  23. Our boy is on Omeprazole (Losec) after going down the gaviscon, domperidone renitidine line too. Gaviscon and domperidone made him constipated and the renitidine just didn't work. Losec was literally a shining light that came after battling for 2 months with everything else. We too were prescribed everything through our amazing GP at the time - but we did all our own research and kept pushing for change. So with your experience - hopefully you should be able to do the same :) Obviously you know to prop him up at all times - not only after feeding and during feeding... We had a book underneath his bassinette and still have a book underneath his cot! Keep us posted - we all know how upsetting it is for everyone (poor ol baby included!) going through this. And don't forget to ask for help and support if you need it too. :)
  24. Ooh - will do! Thanks Maria :)
  25. I think that we need a take-away cup-cake shop.
