  2. Hello, My husband and I own a garden flat and Southwark is our leaseholder. We are thinking of doing a side return extension. Has anyone ever done this? And can you please share your experience and who at Southwark to contact? I know Southwark has previously approved loft conversions but I haven?t seen anything here about the side returns so any help/information would be much appreciated. Thanks and enjoy the sunshine

  5. Hi Has anyone got any experience with applying for planning permission ( small side extension so we can open downstairs section and put bi folding doors) on a leasehold property? The leaseholder is Southwark Council so I would imagine the application will be very painful :)!! Also, can anyone recommend a good architects that work in East Dulwich and that can draw up plans and apply for such a permission? Many thanks for your help! Lenka
  6. yes that is correct... in my last property on Ivanhoe Road council had a scaffolding on the house next door for almost a year, it was just sitting there and nothing was done... us as a leaseholders were most likely paying for this in and in our service charges it most likely noted as " street repair" or " block repairs" ....they only took it down because we were complaining and James had to get involved!!
  7. Thanks Jeremy.... I would actually sell Blah Blah if someone knocked on my door and gave me a good offer...saves me agents fees as well.... Council could actually use the money to put it into their new investment homes or into their departments to improve their services and procedures, perhaps hire more people so they can deal with everything more efficiently and with better customer service!!
  8. Hmmm that is a shame as we would be happy to rent to our to council for some time....but thank you for your response. If anyone else has any experience with this more comments would be much appreciated!!!
  9. exactly the same happened to us, we told them that they must have the wrong house so they said that they will return later on once we have spoken to a council but 2-3 weeks no response form council, the person who is dealing with it is not even responding to any of our calls or voicemails and no sign of scaffolders either. It is a joke as the works are estimated to cost over 3k which is not cheap!!! Anywhere else when you spend 3k or over would provide you with at least some sort of a good customer service but no... Southwark council do not, they just expect you to pay and pay quickly and if you question it or just make general enquiries they charge you extra for delays and are unresponsive and just ignore you! They are an absolute joke!!
  10. Good afternoon, I hope everyone is well. I have a question to fellow residence has anyone tried to buy a flat that is owned by Southwark council and has a tenant in it but the tenant is not a sitting tenant? Basically we own a maisonette and we would be interested in buying the studio that is above us so once day we can convert the house back. Has anyone done it ? And if, could you please give me any tips etc? As a leaseholder, I know Southwark council has no customer service whatsoever and to get an answers to a simpler questions is very difficult so I thought I'll check with you all first before I approach council. I know it will be very long and painful process :)! thank you for all your help and advice Regards Lenka
  11. I know it was awful. Just shocking to see how some people have no manner and think behaviour like this is acceptable!..It was the top part of Underhill Road just pass the cemetery. I was very surprised as that part of Underhill road is very nice and I would expect that kind of people living there!
  12. Hi has anyone had a problems with aggressive dog (staffie I think?) & neighbour on Underhill road? I saw yesterday an aggressive staffie dog attacking perfectly calm dog ( I think it was English setter) and then the owner of the aggressive dog had a go at the other owner that her dog was not on a leash and not even apologising about his dog biting the other dog. he also attacked another man ( punched him) that tried to help the situation. it was very distressing to see how some people behave!! It was completely unnecessary! has anyone had any previous experience with these people on Underhill road? thx
  13. and I thought it was only me that didn't like them, I visited the surgery the other day and the service was so poor that I couldn't believe it. The doctor didn't even know what was wrong with me, she didn't introduce either so I didn't know whether she was a doctor or a nurse... terrible, so disappointing! any good & helpful doctors in the area?
  14. I'm in.... I think Waitrose would be the best!
