  1. Pavel and his team are genuinely lovely guys. Nothing was too much trouble. Pavel gave us a professional and competitive quote and his team were professional, friendly and efficient. We stood around with nothing to do while we watched them pack and move our house into storage. They took care of everything. We felt like we were in good hands and would recommend And Move highly.
  2. Thanks to all for your feedback! We're going to have a look at Howdens but I guess now starts the question of finding a reliable builder and someone who is available soon ish! If you've worked with a reliable builder or kitchen fitter that you would recommend, then please do share their contacts. Thanks a lot!
  3. Hi, We are starting the arduous task of getting a new kitchen and wondering if anyone has any experience of IKEA kitchens? Their website looks quite comprehensive but wondering if it will stand the test of time? We want something midrange I guess, but haven't got a fixed budget yet. Would love to know your thoughts, or any experiences positive or negative. Cheers
  4. Just having this exact same conversation with my husband. We're getting 2.5 year old, second son, superman fancy dress, a Thomas train for their track and some more duplo. He also loves his castle pop up tent so I am sure that the teepee idea will be much loved.
  5. Hi, I am part of a group of parents organising a meet up before the children start in Reception at Dulwich Village Infants next week. We are just trying to get an idea of whether Friday lunchtime, Saturday or Sunday will be the best day. It will likely be Dulwich Park if the weather is dry or the Plough if the weather is dodgy/wet. If your child is starting reception and you would like to join us, then please drop me a PM with your email and I will keep you in the loop. Thanks Clare
  6. My son was quite well potty trained when he started pre school but went through a patch of pooing pants when he was quite constipated. Although staff were happy to deal with it/clean up etc, they pretty much just chucked all his poo pants in the bin - so maybe just a thought to buy loads of primark / cheap pants and send extras in for him? Sorry no advice to add other than waiting it out. You might find he gets better, as at my son's pre school, they used to march the whole class to the loo twice per session. Good luck!
  7. I also came across a website called 2 to 3 days and they are a recruitment agency specialising in part time work for mums. x
  8. I would love a drama type option for my 4 yo son. Agree that in the summer hols tea time can be a bit more flexible and creep later, as I am sure bedtimes will too...
  9. Hi, We received a parcel which was addressed to Daniela O'Sullivan on Glengarry Road. It's come from Germany and seems silly to return to sender when this person probably just lives at another house on the street. If anyone knows them, then tell them to get in touch! (trying this easier route before knocking on 30 different front doors...!) Thanks
  10. St Saviours Church hall on Herne Hill Road, ?33 per hour I think and they have space for bouncy castle, right next to Ruskin park.
  11. Muddy Boots is a lovely outdoor playgroup and I think it's on Monday and Friday at the Devonshire Road Nature Reserve, if you check out facebook I think the page is called Muddy Boots at Devonshire Road. Drop in, run by a lovely mum called Holly and if you have a little chap who likes trains then there is a train line at the bottom of the nature reserve where you see trains every 5-10 mins :) I think I paid ?10 for two kids (maybe ?6 and ?4?) and then Holly also provides a biscuit and squash or hot choc! x
  12. We went to Whippersnappers Grotto in Dulwich Park today and it was great. We had a very nervous 3.5 year old and 18 month old, no issues with a buggy, we just parked it outside (might be an issue if it was raining that day I guess) and they were great with our older one who was quite worried at the thought of meeting Santa. Lots of things to do, making toys, decorating biscuits, colouring, stories, meeting santa and a picture to take home. Recommend.
  13. Thanks Steve! He fixed a blockage in my condenser dryer and also replaced the seal on my washing machine within about 30 mins! Thoroughly recommend the Spin Doctor
  14. Another recommendation needed please.... What is the best type of semi permanent/gel nails are the best for soft nails? I've got really weak nails and don't really ever have manicures but looking to get some gel/shellac style nails done for Xmas, but don't want to have horrible nails when they come off. If anyone can recommend which brand/type that would be amazing Thanks
  15. Thanks guys. The problem is that if I make my own, I will eat them all in a day!!!
  16. Since the closure of ED deli I am desperately missing their rich and delicious brownies. My once a week treat. Anyone know where I can get similar brownies in ED? I know someone sells them on NC road market on Saturdays, but need a mid week pick me up! Thanks!
  17. I have also had great impressions of Bessemer and Goose Green, the only ones that I have seen so far, more to come this month! I would also be really interested to hear what people have thought of the Harris Primary School and also from any parents of this year's cohort, as to what they think so far. If anyone is happy to share their thoughts either here or by PM I would be delighted. Although over the rooftops, this will be our closest school by straight line distance. Thanks
  18. I went to the open morning this morning and one first round, the furthest distance was 359m from gate (Tintagel crescent) and it was further after appeals etc. but head didn't know the figure. Hope that helps.
  19. Hi, I ideally need an instant camera, and wondering if anyone can recommend one? Was thinking something polaroid esque, with an immediate photo, but they don't seem that readily available any more... Thanks
  20. Not sure if I am too late, but we have worked with Mr Fruitcake, who was fantastic. He was really funny, the kids responded immediately to him, he made excellent balloon models and kept around 25 children entertained and engaged for the whole party. He is also very reasonable with this costs. Hope you have a great party!
  21. Hi, my son is starting in the yellow class in September and will be in on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. As he will be new to the nursery we wondered whether any other families would like to meet up over the summer? It would be lovely if he started knowing a couple of faces at least. Looking forward to hearing from you X
  22. You can catch the Little Disco Company at the Goose Green School Carnival on Saturday 5th July, we will be helping to entertain the crowds with some disco antics, in between performances by the school children and other live entertainers. There will be plenty to see and do with food stalls, a beer tent, inflatables and craft stalls, as well as a procession from the school to Goose Green Park and performances from the children. A great local event, so come down and say hi! Sat 5th July, 12-4pm. LDC X
  23. Hi there, If anyone has a child starting in GG pre school class in Sept and would like to meet up over the summer then get in touch. Our son will have a place in the mornings.
  24. Dulwich nursery - bright horizons- have spaces in the pre school (2+) room
  25. Hello, we had an alarm fitted a few years ago and used Aardvark security, I don't have anything to compare him to price wise, but Tony is a lovely chatty guy and very knowledgeable. He's down in Kent but often in this area. we have an alarm panel upstairs and downstairs for that exact reason. Tony Head - 07973 343440
