  1. Agree. It's absolutely not OK for children to be outside shrieking at 6am on a weekend. My nextdoor neighbour had 3 boys and a girl who all played loud shouty games in the garden every single saturday and sunday early morning. If the parents want to lie in in peace, what gives them the right, and not the childless neighbours who have to listen to it? Totally get my sympathy.

I don't know where you get 3 weeks from....went up Wed/Thurs prior Festival, was mostly gone by Friday pm last week. My friends and I have managed to use the park every single day during without incident.
  3. I was in the park on Friday - it doesn't look much different than it did before.
  4. Thanks to your full description, Lee, I know who exactly you're talking about. They often walk their dog in Nunhead cemetery and have been offensively rude to a friend of mine. They are ridiculously over-protective of their dog. Thank goodness they're in the minority.
  5. perhaps Abe would like all the dogs to form an orderly queue by the 'more than adequate' water provision thereby blocking the way in to the loos. What a silly post.
  6. Perhaps if Peckhamguy got an earlier night rather than posting his incoherent nonsense, he might have a better grasp of the English language.
  7. I would, too. There was an article in the Guardian about waste and it mentioned places where you can refill detergents etc, but I never knew they existed.
  8. Ditto from Crystal Palace to SE22 - are the roads better today? Thankyou
  9. Agreed - they're utterly useless.
  10. Couldn't agree more: As I said, No problems here (Croydon council) until I get to Sydenham / Dulwich: absolute chaos. Let's hope it's better tomorrow. I notice no Southwark Councillors have been on to explain.
  11. Thanks so much
  12. Croydon Council had no problems, either.
  13. no grit on Sydenham Hill earlier either - just flat out ice.
  14. I wanted to ask the same questions - I have an appointment for free installation (I know nothing comes for free) and I will certainly not be living here another 10-20 years so any advice greatly appreciated.

His name is Padraig. (pronounced pawrick) but he's known as Paddy. How you;ve missed his name, I've no idea.
  16. Crystal Palace has plain candle-white lights twisted around the posts - Very understated, inexpensive and difficult to offend. I agree that you can't please all the people all the time but the LL lights are dated and (IMO) a bit naff which is a bit incongruous with the very un-naff shops.
  17. How awful, but good of you to think of this. Agree a list is best - sure I have things I can contribute.
  18. Agree with Sue and edcam
  19. ED wrong place to wage a war against drivers: how will all the lorries with skips get in to do all the loft conversions? I did actually wonder (in a moment of minor rage) if this was some kind of anti-traffic plot! Seriously though; loads of people drive as part of their job - it's ludicrous to say "cars, who needs 'em?"
  20. Agree with both of the above: Unfortunately there's a lot of unseen "dropping" that goes on - particularly when they're jogging in pairs, or chatting on their phones sublimely unawares...It's precisely this sort of behaviour which gets ALL dog-owners in trouble, and results in unnecessary and ill-thought out blanket rules affecting everyone.
  21. Added to this there are works with 3-way lights halfway up Sydenham Hill so all access in and out of ED is a total nightmare - Genius timing.
  22. Charming, Ollieloudon. Some people work from home, work nights, or are retired - should they "get over themselves", too?
