Sorry misread original post. Late night!

Am inclined to agree with Red Devil. Went into EDT only once but somehow didn't feel comfortable. Clientele seemed to be in around 25 - 45 age group on this one visit. So, yes, perhaps not representative of the older generation/s

I was told the owner had gone to the Golden Lion in Sydenham on a temporary basis but in accordance with such temporary agreement has now left.

Has anyone tried the fairly recently opened bistro in Sydenham owned by the owner of the coffee kiosks at Forest Hill, Honor Oak and Sydenham stations? Open all day 9 am to 11 pm, first class quality food, competitive prices and extensive wine list. Dogs and children welcome, but I have seen no dogs and only well behaved children. Place for buggies at rear of restaurant.

Philip Bretherton is appearing in Tony''s Last Tape at Bridge House Theatre in Penge. 75 minute one man show with Tony Benn brilliantly portrayed.

You could go and see Tony's Last Tapes at the Bridge House Theatre at the Bridge House Tavern in Penge. It has just transferred from Nottingham and previewed last night. Philip Bretherton (Alastair in As Time Goes By) plays the part of Tony Benn brilliantly.

Sami and Ann are still around in East Dulwich. It is rumoured that French Cafe are moving into the old Two Trees and will have longer opening hours.

Thank you Applespider and mynamehere. I did contact the Solicitors mentioned by Laddy Muck - Levenes. Spoke to a very helpful person, the partner in charge, I think, who confirmed that I should wait for the Police report. Thank you for your concern and advice.
-
Thank you for this, Laddy Muck. Yes, I am contemplating consulting a Solicitor, but it would probably be more appropriate to do so after the Police have completed their investigations and we have been furnished with their report.

As some of you know, my son, Roger, was one of the cyclists killed last year (in Croydon on 12 November). Although the police investigations are still continuing, they have advised that the CCTV showed Roger completely innocent of any wrongdoing - he was in the correct protective clothing ; an HGV, a bus, and Roger had all stopped at a red traffic light and all started moving when the light changed to green. Roger fell of his bicycle, for reasons not yet known to us, and was hit by the bus. He was fanatical about safety, both his own and others, contrary to some untrue, unverified and highly upsetting articles in some sections of the press. The Police have told us that Croydon have denied that that stretch of road,(which is recognised as confusing and dangerous with its tramlines, trams, lorries, buses, cars and cyclists by even drivers of cars travelling on it)needs any attention, because there has been only one previous serious accident involving a cyclist, and that was apparently the cyclist's fault. There is also a pavement and some confusing signage so pedestrians could also be at risk. Croydon have suggested merely that they remove a bush - not close to the incident. Apparently our only remedy, as far as Croydon doing anything about this dangerous stretch of road is concerned, is to write to them. Very recently I received a circular email signed on behalf of Boris Johnson asking me to donate to/vote for (don't remember which) the Conservative Party. I replied in similar vein as this post. No reply has been received. Due to my age, a mobility problem and because it would be too upsetting, I am not able to attend the event, but I should like you to know that I appreciate and support your campaign.

Accident on Lordship Lane this morning (November 20)

Donaldduck, I wish I were in your shoes. My son did not survive a horrific accident on Tuesday 12 November and I have drawn immense comfort from many people, including many on this forum, none of whom have shown any curiosity, only genuine sympathy and concern. -
Thank you all again for your messages of condolence and support. As requested, here are the arrangements for the services for my son, Roger de Klerk. Thursday 28 November 1.45 p.m. funeral service at St Bartholomews Church, Sydenham. 3.15 p.m. Cremation service at Honor Oak Crematorium, Brenchley Gardens. Thereafter gathering at a nearby venue (pub) to be arranged and notified. If any reporters are reading this, please could I ask them to respect the family's wishes and to stay away?

Thank you all so much for your messages of condolence, which are a great source of comfort to Roger's brother and me. Roger's funeral service will be held at St Bartholomew's Church, Sydenham, the week after next, either on the Tuesday or the Friday, followed by his cremation service at Honor Oak Crematorium, Brenchley Gardens, after which there will be a celebration of his life at a nearby venue. I will post more precise details as soon as arrangements are finalised, early next week. All are welcome to either or both services and to the gathering afterwards. I look forward to meeting you all. Applespider - thank you for your suggestion of donations in Roger's name. I have discussed this with family and we will be setting up something in Roger's name with the aim of benefiting cyclists' safety. Any suggestions in this regard would be most welcome.

The cyclist killed in Croydon was my son. I understand it is thought that, for some reason, he lost control and fell off his bicycle, then was hit. One paper appears to have given a misleading account, based, I understand, on the statement of some-one who phoned that paper, which has upset me a great deal. My son, Roger, was fanatical about safety and could never be described by anyone who knew him as an aggressive cyclist.

Is anyone else having problems with Talk Talk phone and broadband?

When the Hurricane hit East Dulwich
annabel42 replied to Muttley's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I am surrounded by woodland. The only tree that seems to have fallen so far is the single tree in my minute garden which has fallen on to a private footpath.
