  1. I know someone who expressed an interest some time ago. He is not on this forum. If someone will very kindly PM me I'll let you have his details or ask him to contact you if you can give me a phone no.
  2. Revolver website, endorsed by Martin Lewis, sets out the procedure in detail and is also a vehicle for claiming. The whole process can be done through their website and is absolutely free.
  3. My post above was in reply to a post saying everyone should respect each other. Can't understand why that post has gone.
  4. Completely agree. People should not be using this forum to attack people who they know cannot defend themselves on the forum.
  5. Sue, were the tests conclusive and what is the diagnosis?
  6. Have you been tested for visual vertigo? It is not commonly diagnosed as the symptoms are rather vague and it was recognised as a medical condition only in 1995. Your comment that it affected you when moving struck a cord. I am not qualified to explain the condition competently, but its basically an imbalance between ears eyes and brain causes excess strain on the eyes causing the dizziness. It is not Menieres or labyrinthitis. Much of my life has been spent consulting GPs, neurologists, psychiatrists, neurosurgeons, eye specialists and others with no success, until around 6 months ago I had two falls, resulting in my being referred to the Bromley Falls and Fracture Clinic, which, after extensive tests lasting around 2 hours, diagnosed me with the condition. It may be worth your while asking to be referred to a physiotherapist with specialist knowledge of this condition, if you haven't already, if only to rule it out.
  7. Ghurkhas in Sydenham. Nepalese owner and family. First rate food and service.
  8. Can recommend Lugana in Eden Park Avenue. They do Sunday roasts as well as offering an extensive menu of European and Italian dishes.
  9. Otta posts from time to time on Penge Tourist Board's Facebook page.
  10. There are also the Hibagon sushi and grill and On the Hoof bistro in Sydenham.
  11. Selsdon Park golf course is very popular.
  12. Was there on Saturday Excellent gamberoni and mussels. Chef is ex Trattoria Rafael in Sydenham, fairly recently rated No 1 on Trip Advisor. A problem with the booking was sorted courteously and with complimentary drinks by way of apology.
  13. Went there yesterday for lunch. Excellent turkey and leek pie with peas and broccoli ?8. Very friendly and helpful staff. Double gin and tonic slightly more expensive than at the Herne but cheaper than the Dartmouth Arms. Lunch time food menu small but very reasonably priced. Lunch served until 4pm with an hours break until 5pm when they start serving evening menu.
  14. I second the All Inn One, Perry Vale. It is child friendly with an outdoor play area.
  15. Wickham Security in West Wickham is a family run business with the relevant accreditations. Haven't used them but believe they are good.
  16. Time Out was interviewed on London Live this evening.
  17. All establishments in ED and surrounding environs worthy winners - The Perry Vale, Forest Hill, On The Hoof with Trattoria Raffaele, runner up in Sydenham, and Friends of Flavours in Penge (although included in Crystal Palace section)
  18. Late Knights could be approached. Their brewery is in Penge and they have recently set up a highly successful pop up in Sydenham High Street.
  19. I have known very wealthy people with no need to shop lift do this. Something psychological I guess.
  20. Le Body in Castries in Castries/St Lucia if you are after a luxurious holiday.
  21. Si Mangia will cook steak rare if you ask them.I usually have it pink and just with spinach. No sauce. The All Inn One in Perry Vale behind Forest Hill does excellent steaks and wonderful roast beef and Welsh rack of lamb. The owner chef will not serve well done beef. The Perry Vale also does excellent steaks cooked to your preference.
  22. Si Mangia fillet.
  23. Agree about the Thurlestone Apartments Canadian Avenue. I stayed in the next door apartments (all owned by the same family) in btween selling one property and buying another. Lovely garden apartment with own patio. Only drawback was communal washing machines. Not sure whether they still do short lets though.
  24. Reproduced on BBC London Live website today.Mentions Franks, the Refreshment Rooms and Rye Lane among others.
