whishter replied to reren's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I have seen Dr Steven Hurel at London Bridge Hospital for several years now for my underactive thyroid so he may be an option for you. -

A friend of mine wanted me to post on here to see if a man who has caught her eye in Dulwich swimming pool is single - can anyone help? She describes him thus: 'Early/mid forties, grey/black hair, well built, bit of hairy chest, well spoken, southern accent...swims in the mornings, probably most mornings but definitely Fridays, between about 8.30am and 9.30am. Not wearing a wedding ring but he may be in a relationship obviously. Any info greatly appreciated! PS she is not a stalker, I promise.

mugging on Melbourne Grove (3rd November)
whishter replied to sylvie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
That is dreadful - I walk up Mel Grove from the station practically every night around 7/8pm and and shocked to hear this. Not that is really matters but where abouts did it happen - I always feel safe as there as houses lining the footpath. -
New Zebra Crossing on Lordship Lane.
whishter replied to karter's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I can't see where anyone has mentioned that in the option where the least parking spaces are lost the bus lane is interrupted. As a daily bus user but also a resident of Chesterfield Grove I am struggling with which option would be better. I do believe they is a need for a pedestrian crossing but struggle with my options of delayed buses as they have to pull into the main traffic lane particularly during rush hour - anyone who gets the bus in the morning will know the delays involved in Grove Vale where the bus lane ends - or struggling to park on my own street particularly on a Saturday. Anyone got any thoughts? -
Any of the early travellers know if the 40 is going down Lordship Lane this morning or still starting at Grove Vale?
-
It has been a nightmare this week for some reason - this morning I waited for 35 minutes before I could get on a 40 from the post office bus stop on Lordship Lane (from 8am). In that time only 2 40 buses past but both did not stop as they were already full. Yesterday morning it took an hour and half from getting to the bus stop at 8.15am to arriving in work in the city at 9.45am. I think I'll be letting TFL know.

I have been with Melbourne Grove Practice for about 3 years. I think the service was pretty good up until they introduced their new system. My most recent experience was a couple of weeks ago when I phoned up to see if I could see a doctor with my two year old son who I suspected had a chest and possible urine infection. I phoned before 9am and was given a time of between 2pm and 3pm for my telephone consultation. I was called back at about 2.45pm and when I described my sons symthoms the Melbourne Grove representative asked me if I thought he should be seen by a doctor??? I bit my tongue and did not have a rant at them that I would not have called in the first place if I did not think so etc etc. The person who called me did not appear to be able to offer any kind of medical advice. My question really is how can a person check a urine sample and listen to a two year old (or anyone for that matter) chest down the phone. Perhaps we should try to bring this to the attention of the Head of the Practice and if everyone who has taken the time to make their grievence known to the forum could drop in a letter to the practice we might see somthing being done? I agree that most of the reception staff make you feel as if you are causing a great inconvenience by reporting to them when you go to the practice but I have always found the doctors and nurses there great.
