  1. I'm sorry you were mugged, hope you are okay and thank you for sharing.
  2. Long shot but hoping that someone will have been in a similar situation and can shred some light! We are buying a property in another borough but haven't exchanged yet however my daughter will be starting school next year so I have applied for two local schools to where we are moving to. I filled in the new address and have everything crossed that by the time they look through the application and ask for a proof of address we will have moved already. However as purchases can fall through I wanted a back up plan as in to also apply for local schools here just in case things don't go according to plan. But because I signed up with the 'new' address I think she will be turned down straight away for local schools in ED because its like we live in Wallington and are applying for schools in ED. Not sure what to do. I am worried sick that my daughter will end up being sent to a school that I would have never chosen... sigh TIA
  3. 5 stars to this post! I am not a nanny but I was and I totally appreciate what you are saying. Having being on the other side I know that I owe the world to the person who looks after my child and keeps her safe and happy. I buy her xmas, Easter and b'day gifts from my daughter and some of my friends don't get it. I hope those mum read this and feel like they should hide under a rock in embarrassment!
  4. I saw this too, reason why I came here as I thought surely someone would know what the heck happened. First I thought it was a car crash but the car has no marks of a crash except for all windows being smashed and I swear there was a bullet hole through the windscreen but I didn't get close enough to check (was getting some petrol). Had it been a crime scene I would imagine there would be police guarding the scene?? I can only think of perhaps some sort of film being shot in the area. Hopefully someone will know what happened and hopefully not gun crime.
  5. Trying my luck here. Has anyone got the sports section for last monday 17.12? Would love to have it please!
  6. There is a deal on living social ?54 ;-) http://www.livingsocial.com/cities/58-london/deals/507038-brazilian-blow-dry-or-newborn-hair-repair-system
  7. I take my daughter to swimming classes at Crystal Palace Sports centre, it's great and not expensive, I pay ?15 a month. Very hard to get a place though but worth insisting.
  8. I use Gisele who is amazing, I have been waxing with her for nearly 7 years. Only trouble is that she doesn't do home visits but you have to go to her house in between Brixton/Clapham, just off Kings Avenue. It takes me about 12 mins in the car and how prices are super reasonable. Pm if you want her contact.
  9. Hopefully there will be some more people interested, count us in :-)
  10. What a great idea! What are you thinking?
  11. Are you a stay at home or working mum? If you use childcare a good ideia is to have her with someone who only speaks French to her. I speak mostly English to my daughter who is now 15 months but sometimes I switch to Portuguese without realising it. I have her with a childminder who only speaks portuguese to her 3x wk and the other 2 days she goes to an English speaking childminder. She understands instructions in both languages but all her words are in English at the moment. I also play dvd's and music in portuguese to her.
  12. Due to family death I am flying on tuesday and I would appreciate very much if I could borrow a travel bag for the bugaboo bee until sep3rd. I would be happy to buy or borrow a breezy canopy. Please get in touch if you think you can help. TIA
