  1. thanks for all your constructive feedback..... its always been a policy of mine to not spend money i havn't got, ive been in business for 11 years and become imune to the fact this game in is fickle- and rightly so, we all work hard for leisure time and we want to enjoy our creature comforts. its never been my style to get the violin out and seek pity, i actually thrive on the process in building something up on a shoestring...yep i hold my hands up i cant please everyone at the mo .... it is my intention to have draught ale immently - but at present i just cannot aford to have wastage...for the short term i have a selection of 5 bottled ales. Bishop finger, spitfire, old empire e.t.c the evening tapas & sunday lunch is up and running..together with the thursday quiz, live music on friday and diffrent djs on saturday... all i can say for now now bare with us were making improvements from week to week.... all the best jason

  3. hi all...... we will be re-opening this friday 7th december from 5pm..... regarding food please bare with us for a couple of weeks, essentail works need to be completed i plan to have a tapas sample night...some time next week, i'll will keep you posted.. all the best jason
  4. hi folks, thanks for your recent posts & apologies for not keeping you up to date..... i will make a descision early part of next week when i'm opening....i have learned from past experiences not to open the doors pre-maturely, its neccasary for a good foundation to be put in place..i.e - a proper running kitchen, clean toilets, electrics that are not going to trip every 5 minutes e.t.c.......... what i have noticed since being down nunhead lane day in day out for the past few weeks, how sucsesful & friendly all the local shops are, that in itself gives me alot of confidence... in particular sopers fishmongers on on my doorstep - ive always liked keeping it local with my purchases...its also inspired me to restructure my menu....you'll have to cross the line and pop in to see what i have up my sleeve... i might have to sue ayers the bakers mind!! there fantastic sausage roll offer is giving me extra winter body blabber... it was a pleasure also to chat to john from old nuns head & the gowlet the other day, i think there 2 lovely pubs that make me feel as a customer relaxed and safe with friendly staff...ive said it before it's not about competing- flexible choice is my moto, you will have no execuse locals for a decent pub crawl in 2008... all the best jason
  5. thanks for all your feedback.... ive already opened the bar up its amazing how bigger it looks..... i have noted all your requests, but without sounding like a politician i will do my upmost to cater for all walks.. most important i want people to feel safe when they come to the page, i applaud what's been done at the rye, gowlet, old nunshead & the herne tavern e.tc as a local myself it's good to have choice...therefore for starters the day of it being a late drinking hole is gone, no bar tabs(sure you like to see it still open this time next year)... i will operate pub hours which is 11- 11 mon - thur.. fri & Sat will keep open till 12.30 - 1am... i had the brewery down today... i am looking at starting with 4/5 draughts with a guest ale to start of with, i will see what the demand is like for bitter and make my judgement. wifi is defo on the list, with the brunch style menu it be good to atract yummy mums, business meetings, or even a city slicker on a sicky skive... e.t.c by the way the pub will be child friendly, which means it wont be an indoor adventure playground...i feel a 7.30 pm curfew sounds fair....let us know what you think?? not decided on the livesport dilema- i feel that one is a no win situation for me...any one got any ideas?? and gidogecko of coarse the pub will be gay friendly..... thanks again for your imput.... will keep you all informed about the opening...and dont worry it will be immenent cos i'm brasic!!!! all the best jason
  6. hi all i like to introduce myself to your forum, i'm jason and have just signed a new lease on the page 2 pub. the pub will close on monday november 5th for a cosmetic revamp. i already have 2 well established eateries in honor oak park - mclarens contintental cafe & tapastry. my intention is to conjule both affordable food concepts into the pub, which means a daytime cafe style brunch operating 11- 5pm (MON-SAT)......... evening tapas - 5- 10pm (see my reviews on www.toptable.co.uk) traditional sunday roast 12- 5pm............. with live music every sunday evening. the building in itself has so much character which is what has atracted me to taking the pub on. what i dont know is the history of the pub?? i would welcome any comments or suggestions on what you folks would like in improving the pub?? look forward to hearing from you regards jason
