  1. The Florence in Herne Hill has a play area, haven't been there myself though.
  2. All, thank you very much for the feedback. Great to hear such good feedback for both of them.
  3. Hi, I have :) - thank you. If anyone does have any feedback on the schools, I would appreciate it very much.
  4. Kids starting school next year in East Dulwich (hopefully!) i was wondering what Heber and St John's schools are like and would be grateful if anyone could share their experiences. Thank you
  5. Still supposed to be a Harris primary school, although the admin staff at Harris told us via email it would not now open until january 2016 rather than sep 2015 as originally planned... Not sure why the start of the build is slipping as it was supposed to have started in august (as far as I know)
  6. (Ops, read your post properly now and can see you are looking to sell. Sorry!)
  7. If you are looking to buy rather than sell, then the next Dulwich Twin Club Nearly New Sale is next weekend, 27th, 10-12 at St Faith's at the bottom of Red Post Hill.
  8. I had the same problem. In the end I went to my GP who prescribed Duac. I used it for c2 weeks and it cleared my skin completely. That was a few months ago and it has not come back. Just wish I had gone to my GP sooner!
  9. I was turned away from King's as labour started prematurely and they had no more spaces in their special care unit. Had to go in ambulance to Chertsey (by Heathrow) and later to east Surrey Hospital in Redhill (by Gatwick), to follow where there were empty incubators (long story). Was told in King's I should be happy as someone else had been sent all the way to Scotland (!) once. Needless to say, quite traumatic but luckily all was fine in the end. It's not good though that hospitals have such high demand they have to turn you away.
  10. Thank you, all very helpful.
  11. We have shiny porcelain tiles which I really do not recommend for young children as they are very slippery when wet. (Speaking from experience) If you go for tiled floor, definitely go for a more 'rough' surface.
  12. Thank you all for your suggestions. Will definitely try them out. And Sbot's 'rota' idea sounds good too.
  13. Hi, My children are now 3.5 yrs and they don't enjoy the playgroups that I usually take them too as much any longer. They like the softplay/ ballpark in Peckham but I can't take them there all the time! Does any one have any good tips on where to go with active 3.5 year old boys? I also take them to parks a lot but would like some more alternatives please.....
  14. We paid ?150 ground rent p.a. For our flat. Not sure how often the rent changes though. Part of the service charge we paid went to fund external building works/ maintenance. Definitely find out if there is a service charge, any current funds and if the place has quite a few flats and being looked after by a management company, check the general state of financials, just ask for the annual accounts.
  15. Hi, we have engineered wood throughout our house, including the kitchen, hallway and living room. We are really happy with it. Make sure you buy good quality boards with a thick layer of solid wood as then you can sand it several times during the lifetime of the floor. I think ours was at least 6mm. It does however get scratched, but i do not notice it too much and is just part of normal wear and tear of a wooden floor. We have had ours for 5 years now. We have three young children. The place we bought it has since gone bust unfortunately.
  16. Gumboots on Crystal Palace Road. Usually has long waiting list too though....
  17. Just what we need :). What age group will you be covering do you think? Toddlers / preschooler?
  18. I have one which my granny gave me. It is pretty good, as it keeps all the moisture in. However, saying that i gave not used it for quite some time. Will get it out!
  19. Not sure where your work is, but maybe bike to work instead of public transport?
  20. Seem to be landing at least one per minute right now....
  21. What about a bike shop? I got the tyres of my buggy replaced in the bike shop by goose green playground. Maybe they can help with brakes too?
  22. Hi, we used the book 'Pirate Pete's potty' which my boys really liked. We still use Potette Plus and i find it is a life saver when you are out and about and not close to a toilet.
  23. Not sure if this helps, as I am based in East Dulwich, but http://www.edtots.co.uk/ try this website. I met local mums with babies of the same age as mine through the tea mornings arranged by the local NCT group, so try to contact them maybe? I think the NCT also arrange weekly meet ups for mothers with babies locally, I went to one at the Goose Green Centre on Mondays (listed on the edtots website). There is also sing and sign at Goose Green Centre for babies from 6 months. In Dulwich village there is a playgroup in St Barnabus Hall on Tuesdays. Good luck!
