Walking along East Dulwich Grove, northside of Goose Green, I've noticed a water leak in the front garden of a house half-way along. It has been running across the pavement and trickling down the drain for a few weeks. Is this a matter for Thames Water?

As you live on Heber Road it seems a no brainer to me! My grandson did all his primary schooling there and I spent many hours at Heber gete and on school outings in the early years. A really happy experience for all the family. To this day my daughter has a circle of good friends among the Mums from Heber.

Sue Klein [email protected] is a very experienced piano and recorder teacher. My grandson took piano lessons with her for about 6 years, doing Grade exams and taking part in her concerts for her pupils - she is extremely supportive of all the age groups and very especially kindly to little ones.

Spotted these on the grass by the mural this am. I left them on a bench. Hope that the owner finds them as it would be maddening to lose school shoes so late in the year! Boys regularly play football there and use garments, bags etc as goalposts.

They have also been plagued by blatant shop-lifting, which has kept the sole secrurity guard extremely busy.

My original and subsequent posts concerned the car-washers on Sainsbury's car park, who have disappeared. I did hear a rumour that they might have had visa problems, but I don't know any more than that. Must say I found them very good and I'm sorry to see them go.

I should have made myself clearer - it was the Russian ?5 chaps in the car park I meant. I have been there a couple of times during the last week and there was no sign of them.

Sorry if I have missed a thread, but what has become of the car wash brigade?

Southwark told me this morning that unless these vehicles are in a CPZ it's not their problem. I have emailed the Mayor's office to ask for advice. I suspect though that, under current traffic laws, unless the vehicles are untaxed or uninsured they probably cannot be removed. Tough on parents taking their kids to the playground or doing some shopping, but there we are.

We reported the East Dulwich Road advertising vehicles to Southwark a year or more ago. No reply as yet. Time to return to the charge.

Recently discovered the delicious challah bread in the deli near Chenor's bookshop by the Goose Green bus stop. Can't think of its name. Has a lovely fruit and veg display outside and is several cuts above a 'corner shop'. Stays open late. Nice staff too.

Quite a number of recommendations for "Books set in America" as requested though!

I had lunch at the White Horse recently - my first visit - and really enjoyed it. Friendly staff as Jeremy says, good ales and very nice food, reasonably priced. A find, for me anyway.

Loved Carol Shields's Larry's Party. It was the book of the year for many critics back in whenever it was, and re-reading it the other day I was as mesmerised as ever.

Tyler, Shields and Moore are wonderful. But add Alison Lurie to the list. Foreign Affairs is terrific.

Dog poo on Keston road is quite rare, but fox poo is more frequent. Nothing to be done about the little blighters though...
