Weve been with DMC for 17 years..gone downhill over the last few years and now virtually impossible to get an appointment. My 21 year old changed to The Gardens recently and think the rest of the family will probably follow.
  2. I have some texts and York notes that my daughter used for A level. Might be of use to someone. They are: Frankenstein - Mary Shelley,Dr Faustas- Christopher Marlowe,Making History - Brian Friel + York notes advanced, the First Detective - Edgar Allan Poe, York notes Advanced for The Handmaids Tale - Margaret Atwood.
  3. When we got our loft done we had to get a written agreement from the neighbours with the adjoining wall and there was a clause in the contract saying they the builders were responsible and would rectify any damage. the work couldnt go ahead without it.Luckily there were no problems but surely they should have contacted you first to discuss this and get your ok before they started knocking your property about. Hopefully they'll be reasonable when you meet with them. I'd contact The Master Builders Federation or Southwark Councils Building and planning dept for some advice. they should be able to tell you what your options are.Good luck.
  4. Brilliant, go for it. would definately be a regular

Same method, approached from behind in the early hours, hand across mouth and told if she didnt give him her bag he'd hurt her. Sounds like the same guy..same description. > http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5 > ,862611,page=1
  6. Professor Sir Michael Marmot, the Director of the Institute of Health equity was asked by the govt to do a report on this in Feb 2010. Its called 'Fair Society, Healthy Lives' ...worth a look. Why they commissioned it but dont act on it is beyond me!
  7. My partner witnessed an attack around Christmas, similar to yours but the woman's had her child in the back seat too! she was dragged for a while as she tried to hold onto the bag. When police were called they were aware of a spate of attacks. This attack happened at the back by the recycling bins. Police said its not covered by the cctv that end.
  8. Just called thames,,theyve had trouble with a burst mains all day and have tried turning it on a few times which is why theres been a little water in the taps. She said theyre working on it as we speak" Worst case scenario- off till 9:30pm!"

Well weve lived on the East Dulwich/ Peckham borders for 14 years...My kids, now 18&15, have grown up here. We were burgled once, years ago and he was a young drug user who was promptly caught by his DNA. weve had any trouble since!!I dont know where all this doom and gloom is coming from..~If you're gonna live in London then East Dulwich far outweighs a lot of other areas. I've got relatives living in Devon who daren't go out at night as the kids are anti social and making everyone's life a misery..Get a grip!we got it pretty good
  11. I agree with Peckham rose..It seems no worse than anywhere else and Rye Oak children's Centre is a great facility for your young family
  12. Home=Start Southwark run a multiple birth drop-in called 'Two tots or more' at Ivydale childrens centre on Thursdays 9:30=11:30.Its a lovely room and they are very welcoming to newcomers xx
  13. You could try Home-Start Southwark.A children's charity based in Camberwell who recruit and train volunteers to support families with young children who are under stress. They cover the whole of southwark and could match you with a family in this area. Their number is 0207 358 6698
  14. We have 2 daughters 13 & 16. Both go to Sydenham girlswhich is a 15 min bus ride away in Lewisham. A lot of the local girls go there and the boys go to forest hill boys. Both are community schools and allthe families we know are happy with them. Of course they dont have the money for trips abroad so we do our best to give them that experience We tried for Southwark schools but we have no special needs so not much chance there! Its easy to get to victoria too so theres Pimlico which is mixed and has a brill music dept and theresGrey coat hospital for girls.185 bus straight there. If you're supportive parents your kids will do well wherever they go.
