  2. Honor Oak pre school is lovely.
  3. stillness look lovely and what a wonderful name for a school . Would just be such a mission to get to without a car I think. My choices would be - Horniman, Fairlawn, Goodrich , Heber, Elliot Bank and not sure about the 6th. But all of these seem very hard to get a place. will see what happens. Thank you advice everyone. So helpful x
  4. The problem I am hearing is that due to bulge classes I maybe not get into the closest schools - Horniman, Fairlawn and Goodrich. Feel that my 6 choices are very popular schools but they are my closest. Thinking I might have to put a faith school (st Antony's) down but we are not Catholics. Feels a bit of a worry. Fingers crossed we will get one of our 6 !
  5. Hi, can anyone recommend a good place to get a good , reasonably priced all-in-one waterproof. And if ordering on line how to judge the size?
  6. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good place for me and my husband to go for a massage in Dulwich. It needs to be in Dulwich and they have to have a good knowledge about what oils etc are okay to use whilst breast feeding. We are celebrating our wedding anniversary and as our children are young and I am feeding still) we can only leave them with grandparents for a short time but would love an hours relaxation !! Many Thanks anyone who can help !
  7. Thank you very much. I better start looking at some school!!!
  8. Hi, could somebody help me. How and when do I apply to schools for my son who will be 4 next August. Do I apply now? do I do it on line? can I apply in two different boroughs as I am close to schools in both? I was too late applying to nurseries for him this year so want to get the school application right! Much Thanks to anyone who can help!
  9. thank you very much . will give them a call now .
  10. do you have their number? I can't seem to find it on the internet?
  11. I think you are right anydown. I have discovered today that I think she is tired and not hungry sometimes and the sling calms her down and then she wakes 2 hours later and does a better feed. Thank you all for advise. I still thin breast feeding is tough but hope it gets more enjoyable soon. All worth it x
  12. yeah I will give it another week and see if it settles down . People just seem to say that 6 weeks is when it gets easier and maybe it has a little . The snacking seems to be more every other day . Thrush has only just cleared - it was very bad . Will keep trying. She has put on weight so guess that's good -from 7.5lbs to 11.5lbs in just under 7 weeks (and she was 5 days early), Thank you for your help x
  13. Hi, I saw a consultant from Kings and one from Croydon - Katie Fisher and she checked for tongue tie and have the all clear. She is pooing and weeing and putting on weight. Just feels like she should be doing bigger feeds. x
  14. Hi, sorry for yet another post about breast feeding . I am just in a bit of a pickle and about to give up. I have been feeding my daughter for 7 weeks and still seem to be finding it very, very hard indeed - is this normal ? On week 3 I saw 2 different breast feeding consultants and both told me that attachment was fine and no problems. They were very helpful. But I then developed thrush in my breast and it was very painful. After 3 weeks of treatment it finally went. Now the problem I have is that my daughter seems to snack all the time and I am always worried that she hasn't taken enough milk. She seems to take an okay feed from one side, then falls asleep. When I wake her by changing her nappy etc she will feed for a short time but stop. She also gets very windy when on the breast so pull off a lot. Also sometimes it feels like I am forcing her on the breast as I think she is hungry and she will cry and cry but not attach but if I offer her a finger or dummy to suck she sucks like mad - so assume she is hungry. I also have a 2 year old so trips to the park etc are so hard as she seems to need to snack all the time and this makes things hard when running after a 2 year old. I was unable to feed my first child so felt so happy when I could feed my daughter but at least with the bottle I knew how much my son was getting. Just feeling it's all getting too much but really want to carry on breast feeding but also close to giving up. Hope this make sense and any tip/advise will be very appreciated. Many Thanks
  15. Thank you so much for all of this - what lovely helpful people. xx:))
  16. Hi, I am trying to find out where and when the breast feeding cafes are in my area (SE22) but all the info on the internet is very dated and not sure it is the right information. Also I need to take my 2 year old with me if that is possible?? I was unable to feed my first child but my second (only 6 weeks old) seems to be attaching okay. Just not feeling very confident and so far the breast feeding experience is painful, emotional and sometimes feels impossible with 2 year old but I really want to continue if possible. A breast feeding cafe might help? Can anyone help? Also does anyone have any tips on how to help with bad wind - she seem to pull on my breast, go red in the face and cry lots when feding. This is then usual followed by a huge burp on massive poo!! Many Thanks :))
  17. Hi just to say I have Coeliac disease and have a 2 year old and a week old. KBN is spot on in what she is saying. Also in New Scientist recently I read that they might have a cure in 5 years time !! I might be able to have yummy fresh bread again!! A gluten free diet is fine but there is no such thing as nice gluten free bread!!
  18. Thank you so much for all advice. It seems to be lots worst in the evening and just done a feed in tears. I really want to continue feeding but horrible at the mo even harder with a 2 year old about too. off to docs first thing and hope they will give me something to sort it out!! I have read somewhere that if you are a sufferer of Thrush generally then treatment might not work I am hoping that isn't right!!. Fingers crossed it does!! Thank you again everyone .:)-D
  19. Thank you so much reassuring me. Did you have pain deep in your breast? wondering if the gel will get rid of that? Hoping to see a doctor first thing tomorrow. So painful at the mo !! :(
  20. Hi , was wondering if anyone could help. I have just had my second baby ( born 6 days ago) She is lovely and doing very well. I didn't manage to establish breast feeding with my son but my little girl seem to be taking to the breast really well. The problem is that I had thrush during delivery and now suffering with feeding as I am experiencing pain inside my breast and from the back. She doesn't seem to have any symptoms yet but maybe it is early days. Just wondering if anyone else experienced the same and what magic cures there are. I really want to continue feeding her.
