  1. Hi everyone! Just a quick note to say that baby Owen was born late monday night (7 pounds 11 ounces). I had an epically long labour and he ended in a c-section and am only just getting out of the hospital. I'm really glad to be back home with our new addition. It'll be a while before I'm out and about but I look forward to seeing you all soon. Julia
  2. Hi Sal, we were wondering how you were getting on. So happy to hear she is head down! I'm up for another day-time meet up as I too have started maternity leave. Julia
  3. Gonna try to make it too, with bump which shows no signs of becoming baby yet. Julia
  4. This might sound wierd, but I also heard that putting a bag of frozen peas on the top of your belly (where the baby's head is) can coax them to get the heck out of there and head for the warmer bit down below. You might well have already tried that though! Congrats to the latest wave of new moms and babies! Not due for another 3 weeks and waiting patiently...sorta. Julia
  5. Congrats to all the new families and a Merry Christmas to all! Julia
  6. Gonna try to make it this evening but won't be there till 8 if so! Hopefully see some of you later. Julia
  7. I can make it but might be a little late; do folks plan on still being around at 8ish? Julia
  8. Hi All, Would have loved to meet you guys today but for the fact that I'm discovering the joys of having a really bad cold while pregnant. Ah, for decongestants... But I will definitely be coming to the Gowlett on the 3rd, ready to devour a pizza. Welcome Kate! I just moved here from Canada about a year ago and am due on the 13th of February. Perhaps we can compare notes as we figure the British system out! I have a question for the group: how many of you are considering making an epidural part of your birth plan? Has anyone come across some good website or books that present the pros and cons etc about this? Any thoughts, second time or third time mums? Hope no one else gets this nasty cold!!! Julia
  9. Hi All, Congrats everyone on their mid-scans. We had ours last week and all is well with baby and we are having a boy! We are so thrilled! I had hoped to come tonight but am still at work so probably won't make it. See you in a couple weeks (the plan is now the Actress two Thursdays from now, am I right?) I'd also be up for some daytime meets depending on the day, so do let me know if they are happening. Cheers, Julia
  10. Oh also, my partner would perhaps be keen on going to a dad's thing, but is similarly lackadaisical about organizing it! J
  11. Hello all, looking forward to tomorrow night. A regular meet up would really be great as well, and either the Gowlett or the Actress works just fine for me. I'm not sure if I missed someone suggesting a day, but ideally any evening but Tuesday for me, as I work every Tuesday evening (but I realise it's hard to come up with a day that works for everyone). See you tomorrow! Julia the Unpronounceable
  12. Ditto! Lovely to meet everyone and am looking forward to the 27th of September; I'm up for either location. Will also see about changing my unpronounceable name... Julia
  13. Hi Caroline and all, Thursday the 25th works great for me. Keep me updated! Julia
  14. Hello All, Another first timer here, just had my scan and I'm due on the 13th of February. I've just moved to East Dulwich/London/the UK so I'd love to meet up some time for a chat with other local mums-to-be. I'm around most weekdays and evenings. Best wishes to all those who are still awaiting scans! Julia
