  1. They are great results - especially pleasing is the Harris Girls results - well done to them!
  2. @Otta - these are 2010 results @renata - do these include english and maths - from research schools can manipulate the data to suit/exclude/include certain subjects so I never believe what the individual schools state - only go on an across the board site like the bbc but as yet only ind schools have been published in the telegraph...anyway another reason southwark falls behind with other boroughs....
  3. I can find results for Lewisham schools but nothing for Southwark schools - can anyone advise? % pass rate (A*-C inc English and maths Borough average 56% Addey and Stanhope 70 Bonus Pastor Catholic College 67 Conisborough College 50 Deptford Green 50 Forest Hill 56 Haberdashers' Aske's Hatcham College 78 Haberdashers's Aske's Knights Academy 55 Prendergast Hillyfields College 70 Prendergast Ladywell Fields College 41 Sedgehill 44 St Matthew's Academy 59 Sydenham 64 Trinity, Church of England School 61 Published: 25-August-2011 Actions (hidden)
  4. :)) @Otta YES as much as I want to hear more I guess I will have to wait until "official" findings are released..
  5. Congratulations Mrs Integrity....I have heard a few mumblings from teachers who are friends of teachers at Kingsdale....lets hope the "truth" comes out
  6. Good and hopefully they can "audit" their selection process.....lottery my big backside!
  7. I have been given a leaflet on this festival by a co worker -sounds great - Lollibop festival 5th,6th 7th august Regents Park Tickets from ?20 per person per day Featuring Rastamouse and da easy crew plus loads of other stars Under 10's..... lollibopfestival.com The big bash for little people
  8. kingsdale did not get 70% statistics can be manipulated to suit your needs - they only got 59% http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/special/education/school_tables/secondary/10/html/210.stm
  9. To Mark Dodds - count me in.....my situation is identical of citymum and many others...carefully weighed up realistic choices etc and got a dud....we actually had sydenham girls (dont really want single sex but not many options)as 3rd choice but didnt get a place because dd's banding this year turned out to be a tight catchment - my neighbour who lives further away got a place - it was her 5th choice and only put it down to fill the places up...anyway very disillusioned with the process... have actually worded 2 e-mails to harriet harman but never sent as they were emotional rather than factual...but happy to play a part in doing something - and it may not be for our kids but the next ones coming along... Also checking out the results for GSCE's - kingsdale blagged 70% (A*-C grades)- actually if you look at schools across southwark and lewisham (observer/guardian or bbc link) they only got 59%..same as walworth (which only last year was a "sink" school) and i dont know anyone who put it as a choice got in either! Is anyone appealing....I am still undecided...might go to kingsdales info evening on it if only to see other parents etc
  10. I also read that it was on the mums net forum.... According to the Schools preference advisor, 200 children in Southwark were not offered any of their named schools, 40 children were not offered a place at all & 63 of Kingsdale's places were offered to children in Lewisham. It's a Nightmare. And a lot of discussion around kids from Wandsworth now applying to Kingsdale... Anyway we are awaiting the waiting lists.....something has to be done about the "choices" = NONE for schools in southwark
  11. It would seem that a high number of Lewisham residents (87%) received their first choice school - speaking to a few of the parents I know they had Kingsdale...so they cross over boroughs....now it seems that many parents in southwark are having to take a lewisham school because their first choice kingsdale has been hugely oversubscribed and the places taken by lewisham residents...its utter madness and completely wrong - I want a southwark school as its where I pay my council tax why should lewisham get my childs place? I am so angry and disillusioned with the system - we did not get any of our choices - so allocated Harris Girls and i dont care how fabulous it MAY become its not for my daughter right now...I could go on and on but will restrain myself So incredibly stressed and upset right now and finding it hard to work...my daughter is upset and another thing many parents getting an average school having to hide their true feelings to their child.....am writing to harriet harman even if its just to vent....
