  5. Any of you ed forumites go? Was a great night of music from a 'master' the Swarb. One guy on a violin holding the crowd . Funny stories from way back in a perfect atmosphere. The room up there totally suited the music, i thought. Ive been to a few things up there before but that was the best arts/bar combo, for me. My mate got 'shushhh'd'. Congrats on that to the organisers. When i was 16, I took a trip up from kent to London to see John Martyn at the original marquee club. Went on my own. The crowd sat on the floor (pre punk so that gross old carpet wasnt so soaked in beer) and John Martyn told stories and played his guitar alone. was spellbinding. Last night reminded me of that. Classic. Theakstons old peculiar hits the spot eh? Wobbly walk home.
  6. dunno where to put this..does have music on it. But like to share this with you 'ites
  7. previously ive had no beef and they were nice. but i fell into a hole on this one.just saying. no previous grouch.
  8. blimey. slightly going off this thread. it occured that when you buy something and are told you could have tampered with it , because it isnt in a sealed plastic bag, the other side of the coin is..when youve bought it, how do you know another customer hasnt opened it sniffed it or opened it when on the shelf? (as they often do in that kind of shop). Seems to me, rather than lamely pointing at the little sign and refusing to the face of the person who the gift was for to exchange a clearly unopened non cosmetic they have in fact put customers off. Oh and to whoever it was on the other page suggested i was being cheap in buying a 20 quid bubble bath, it was a bad month. All bills no wins. I'd love to have bought an open top lotus elan. Funny put down though. we had a good laugh on it.
  9. zackly.
  10. my hard luck story. nicely put. true an all, but the package did have a ribbon round it like seal. it clearly hadnt been opened. anyway. over it now of course but wont be returning.
  11. hmm, just really cheesed me off.so lame. yesterday late afternoon bought a 20 quid bubbly bath for missus's birthday. Seems I got the wrong flavour. So She and i went back to Boo's to exchange with receipt unopened. useless dames refused. 'we dont know what youd done with it since yesterday, not that im saying..'. well, hmm that sucks. pointed to little sign 'we dont exchange cosmetics'. no more gifts from there. no way. Bubble bath=cosmetics? dr poo!

  17. yes true. still interesting tho. I see there a new book out about Zep raids too. Wonder if we had much activity of that here. just one thing. These v1/v2's so frikkin scary for people at the time. So its good to see "This V1 was reported by the fire brigade, somewhere in the East Dulwich Road, it is noted that the only damage was the destruction of public toilets. The exact location is not noted" phew!
  18. they have the fag at forest hill road. read the paper have a fag. dont care myself. bit stinky but windows open goes quick. funny thing tho, I did get picked up by a driver recently (within 2 months) who was smoking a fag and giving you the 'dont even think of it' look.
