  1. I'm starting to get a little worried about my baby's eating habit. A little back story: My baby was diagnosed with GERD at 2 months old, and from the very beginning feeding him was no easy task. Once I've began weening, things improved a little and he wouldn't puke as easily. When we were supposed to move on to "mash consistence", any tiny little lump of food would make him gag and consequently puke all his food, that would happen every single meal. I then moved back to puree as he was not gaining weight consistently. I can give him finger food in between meals and he will munch a tiny little bit but basically, we are at a point where he hasn't even started to lear how to feed himself and puree food still looks like the safest alternative still. I'm hoping as he grows a little more (he is a small baby), he will be able to eat "normally" but now I'm worried his speech will be delayed among others development issues. Any similar experiences here? Should I worry and look for help or shall I relax and wait a little longer?
  2. My daughter has been taking Domperidone for her GERD since 2 weeks old, she is 11 months now. The drug itself is quite harmless (as far as chemicals can be), so I wouldn't think it would do any harm to a breastfeeding baby if the drug is to be taken by the mother, especially if prescribed by your GP. Think if baby is fine by taking directly, through mums system might be even less harmful. But I would suggest another approach first. When we first found out about my daughter's reflux, I got really stressed and my milk supply very nearly ceased. I was really worried about it as I went for 2 days with very little milk, not enough for a feed. A friend told me to drink 1 pint of water before and after each baby feed for at least 5 days, I had to combined feeding with formula while doing that, but at the end of 4 days, my milk supply had quadruple, I had soooooo much milk I had to stop drinking so much water. From then on, I drank I pint after every feed and I've never had problems with it again.
  3. Quick tip. Near Brighton, wonderful young family town: Lewes!
  4. Hi Jollybaby, We've done this last August with a 4 month old baby and it was sooooo straight forward, we are doing it again this year - I would highly recommend! Taking baby paraphernalia on train or plane is really stressful and you can take so much more in your car. We set off at 6pm from SE22 and our plan was to drive as much as we could (well, my husband could - I can't drive), driving on France's motorway is a dream, almost like driving through black velvet, it so smooth!! We end up driving all the way to Dijon and that took us around 8/9 hours (seems a lot, but we didn't really feel it after the channel crossing (Eurotunnel) and a couple of coffee breaks). Baby slept all the way, not a beep! We looked for a cheap Road/Motel style hotel and found one quite quickly, I think prices were around 90 Euros. Next day we got up early (well, baby was up at 7am) and after 4 hours kip we we ready to drive to our final destination: Le Luc, Provence (another 4/5 hours). I think driving through the night is less stressful with baby and also not so hot. The second part of our drive was fine for the first 3 hours but once she was awake, she got hot and bothered in her seat, only a little left to get there, so I've managed to entertain her with some singing and pulling funny faces. One thing I highly recommend is a carrycot car seat, so your baby can have a nice sleep. Please feel free to pm me if you would like more info. Have a great time! x

  6. I think paying a little entry fee for it (?1-2) would be very fair!
