  1. Thank you all for your replies. I will try sling library on Tuesday!!!
  2. After my second c-section my back is not what it used to be. My new baby (well, not so new, he is 5 months now!), is a needy chap and will scream the house down unless he is on my arms. I've been trying to get things done around the house with a mix of letting him cry a bit and using Baby Bjorn, which is killing my back, so I can't cope for more than 10/15min until I need to get him off. I've heard Ergo and Manduca are much easier on the back, so I was wondering if anyone (with bad back) would confirm that as I can't invest nearly ?100 on something that will end up hurting me again!!!
  3. A close friend run a "tent/marquee" business and because of it most of our friends got married on tents. Tents are great and specially if you want to party all through the night without worrying about a particular time when you have to leave a venue etc... check their website http://www.lpmbohemia.com/
  4. I'm trying for a VBAC here, so if baby doesn't come out by the 20th, I'll need another c-section. Nothing to loose really! Hopefully the combination of sweep, acupuncture, walks, curry, sex, and everything else available, I'll be able to try for a natural birth. Fingers crossed!!!!
  5. Thank you all, will book appointment!!!
  6. Hi there! I'm having a sweep on monday and want to back it up with a session of acupuncture a couple days later if nothing happens, can anyone recommend a local place/person that does this kind of 'treatment'? Thank you!
  7. Hi Saffron, My daughter started at Rose House in September. I love it, she loves it. We were on a waiting list for nearly 1 year and I'm still on a waiting list for an extra day. There are 2 sites but both are lovely and staff moves around both venues. I totally recommend it!
  8. My daughter, had really bad Eczema all over her body (from her 1st bday, she is nearly 3 now). Even her eyelids where covered! I paid ?300 for a Allergy test in Harley street just to be told she isn't allergic to anything (they've tested her for over 30 allergens) and probably her eczema was hereditary (husband has got it a little). Searching on the internet for treatment alternatives, I've came across Hemp seed oil (sold at some big Sainsburys or Waitrose, "The Good Oil"). I've started giving her a 5ml spoon every morning. I also read that aqueous cream only makes Eczema worsen, so I stopped that and changed to Aveeno dry Skin moisturiser twice a day. In my case, thanks to those 2 simple changes her skin has almost cleared out completely. She still has a couple of persistent patches, but compered to how it was before, I cant believe how much better her skin is. Give it a go!
  9. Just got a Hexbub set for my godson (3y) and he loved it!!! Got it from Toys r Us in Old Kent Road. They've got 3 or 4 different sets, you can get a small one and add to it later. I think that's part of the fun. Or join one kids set to another, and so on. Have a look at website: www.hexbug.com
  10. Just got a amazing one from Zara. Thick, high waisted (holding my flabby stomach is a MUST!, excellent price! Check it out: http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/uk/en/zara-I2011/122013/432531/HIGH%2BWAISTED%2BLEGGINGS
  11. Me and my husband are always struggling when talking about my daughter's "pussy"! That's how I refer it on me (in private, obviously!) and it doesn't feel right calling her "private bits" the p word. So, we go from: make sure you put cream on her "bits" to She is a bit red "down there"! After reading this thread, I made a decision! I will start calling it vulva and that's what she will learn from mummy and daddy when she starts talking. EDF rocks!
  12. Great idea! What ages would the group be suitable for?
  13. Try: Night flight, stop over (I think helps with the cabin fever feeling on a long haul) and most important PIRITON!!!!
  14. hey wd, I do "drive" a bugaboo; I do not have a "job" (but plenty of work at home), I inevitably will talk about my child over a coffee or wine with friends specially when she wakes up many times during the night. But... Let me tell you. I still think I AM PRETTY COOL!! So, if you struggle to find someone to join you, please pm me and I will show you a good time!!!!! : ) Ps: Forgot to add, my creativity is well bellow average.
  15. That would be nice! Maybe worth popping in to check it out :)
  16. I was looking for the same and on very long internet research on the topic, the lightest, good quality one I thought it was worth investing in was the maclaren volo. But I'm curious to know if there are other options out there.
  17. Hi Little h, I feel for you... my baby daughter has really bad reflux and the only thing that helped was Omeprazole. She suffocated on her own vomit at 3 weeks old and Paediatricians at Kings A&E started with Omeprazole from that day on, so I did not have to get a referral from GP to see specialist. I have to say, reflux is a total nightmare, but she will get better with time. Other than medication, I've tried a number o restrictions on her diet and in my opinion, it only made my life more difficult juggling with what or not to give her to eat, so I suggest you try simple things like: Gaviscon (baby- you need prescription for that one) mixed with her milk. A bit sad, but giving up the boob and moving on to bottle really improved things; propping up he mattress and swaddling baby to sleep also helped me (her). Above all... you need a lot o patience and hope things will improve. Please pm me if you need a chat, I'm happy to help! x x
  18. Thank you so much for your reply Lochie & NL! Will try Anbesol and see what happens! x
  19. Hi All, I need a little help here... My 14 month old baby has been "growing" her first lower molar for more than a month now. It looks really sore, swollen, bulbous, like a massive purple blister. She is very upset about it today and my mother in law said sometimes its necessary to lance it to come out quicker. I find this very strange, but was wondering if anyone here has any experience on "stubborn molars" and could shine a light on this for me???!!!
  20. Hi, although I'm still giving dairy to my 1 year old who developed quite a bad case of eczema, recently I came across "Good oil" which is hemp seed oil produced in the UK and sold at Waitrose, at ?8 per 500ml bottle. I mix 1 teaspoon with her lunch and another with dinner. I was told by a friend about how the oil has helped with her eczema, and how the oil has a amazing array of essential vitamins. There are loads of articles on the net about how amazing the oil is, so take a look and see what you think. In the meantime, this is a good article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-4035/Eczema-healed-hemp-oil.html
  21. THANK YOU! :)
