  5. Have a look at The Refinery on West 38th. Good central location, great rooftop bar, spacious rooms(very loft like). Was an old warehouse I think that has been converted really well. Brilliant if staying during the warmer months, air con good and rooftop bar in the evenings.
  6. Haha, so she just appeared on it then. Huge ego! Amazing....

Was that the one that took AS to court because she didn't feel that the ?100,000.00 per year job she got as a result of winning The Apprentice, was of no value?
  8. Yes agree! A friend referred to it as Big Brothel! I'm more appalled by Luisa, her behaviour and comments that she seems to think is ok... I'm still going to watch though, just make a cup of tea when it becomes low life cringy!
  9. Someone told me the other day that their main restaurant is at the Elephant & Castle, you could try looking that up.
  10. Belladonna, maybe, just maybe, the person selling the old TV is just trying to raise money for Christmas or to feed their kids or to pay the electricity bill or something you have no idea about. In the spirit of Christmas, let it be. Don't throw rocks that may cause a great deal more hurt that you may intend.

Well said LondonMix. Very few businesses have the permanent right to occupy a space, Pretty's obviously had the opportunity to buy the business under a year ago, when it went on the market. They clearly chose not to.....
  12. But didn't they sell the freehold about a year ago.... Through Harvey & Wheeler estate agents if I remember correctly? I seem to recall thinking it was only a matter of time, or have I got the wrong one? Surely they wouldn't sell and think it would all remain the same?

  14. Is it the grocery shop that's never open opposite Blackbird bakery? Not sure, just those strange gates at right angles ring a bell?
  15. As giggirl says.....I would also do his roots for him and anything else he'd like doing.....
  16. The newsagent next to Blackbird Bakery, they seem quite friendly and I think family run. Plus convenient for people on the way to/back from ED station? In Grove Vale.
  17. Two of them did land spot on the marker but there was gusting wind which sent the other two off course. I'm afraid I don't know where they landed, but heard they were ok.
  18. Wow..... I remember the meeting where we were advised. As well as amputated legs, Dad was on dialysis too. The hospital advisors told us very clearly that since it would be impossible for Dad to be expected to pick up medication etc, that Mum should use it for anything that Dad needed. If only he were still here......... We would now know!
  19. My Dad lost his legs for the two years prior to his death and my Mum was advised that she was able to use the blue badge for anything that he needed and he was unable to be with her for. It would make sense, if someone is unable due to severe disability, how would they get anything they needed. My Mum only ever had a maximum of an hour to get anything Dad needed, so that she could be back for medication, caring for him etc...
  20. Agree Louisa, I usually find the additional child on scooter in back of calf a bonus. A little consideration would go a long way.....
  21. I just called, got through straight away and later popped in with my details for a repeat prescription. Called 020 8299 0499. They are all there...
  22. Mad Men - referring to the boxed set, not edcam and El Pibe!
  23. I just got back from Sainsburys having walked there and stupidly buying lots of heavy items ( potatoes, bottled water x 4, tonic water x 3, vegetables and on and on and on) over 8 full bags. Walking back, I thought I was going to have to leave the water in the little parkway path back into Grove Vale, when a gentlemen said " come on now, you can't carry all that stuff, give me some bags". A true gentlemen and a random act of kindness I am so grateful for. As we got to Blackbird bakery, he showed me his badge, he was a security man just going off shift from Sainsburys. So to you Ronald, I say THANK YOU!
  24. What I don't understand is this; the council own the property, they maintain it, all Fusion have to do is manage a thriving business in a great area, effectively a gift! I have looked on their website and see they are registered as a charity too, which I'm not quite sure whether this just gives them tax breaks? Unsure about that one, maybe someone on here can answer that one..... The point is, why are Fusion given such a gift, when they clearly can't manage their way out of a paper bag? If there was anyone registering for swimming lessons this week, they would know what I mean. One step away from the clowns entering and a hire wire act being introduced. I have a membership at EDLC but have to say my patience is running low. As for the three staff members given their marching orders, if you read this, you are very much missed! This week has been proof of that.
