Birthday venue (Herne Hill, Dulwich)

St Faiths hall on red post hill is nice for that age group as it has a big enclosed garden in the back as well as the hall and a kitchen. -
Yes you?re right, my son is the same age and this board was very helpful for support and info when he was little. I guess that was maybe driven by a few people who used it a lot and others followed.

My year 7 son age 11 has just started meeting up with friends on their own in local parks on weekend afternoons. My main worry is they will injure themselves while jumping off/over things so I?m signing him up for a first aid course for teenagers. He cycles to school which I find a lot scarier. He met up with friends in our very closest park from year 6 but there would usually be at least one parent there at the beginning and/or end in year 6. The all setting off alone and coming back alone is new for us.

I've seen mention of an icon to click on to add links but I don't see any icons in or near the text entry field. I've tried it in safari, chrome & edge and they all look the same. Can someone tell me what I'm missing? Thank you!

My son had a couple of 1-1 swimming lessons with Carol at Jags a few years ago which were really good, I?m not sure if she?s still teaching there but definitely recommend her if she is. He also did lessons at superkids swim school which uses the pool in Dulwich prep, the classes there are very small, only about 4 kids per teacher with very good teaching & I?d recommend that too.

Ihank you to everyone who has posted on this thread! I called Tony this morning, he came round this afternoon, fixed a toilet flush that's been bugging me for years, then showed me how to reset the pressure on our central heating & how to recharge the air gap in our megaflo and explained when & how to do it again so I can do all those things myself next time. I'd tried to figure out the megaflo from youtube videos before but now know I've never actually done it properly! He was lovely to deal with, with none of the patronising or annoying chat you often get from tradespeople. I totally see why he's rated so highly and would recommend him for any plumbing job. He's coming back soon to replace a radiator and a sink for us.

Thank you! Found some in big Tesco in Brixton, for next year also!

I've left it a bit late but would love to buy a pack of sparklers today - does anyone know anywhere locally that's selling them?

Maybe pop into wood falls opticians on Lordship Lane - they are super helpful and could help you choose a frame & then fit sunglasses lenses into them for you. -
Walters Taekwondo - please help them rebuild

I second this, it?s a great and very welcoming club. My son has been going for 4 years and loves it. Daniel and his family team are brilliant. -
It depends what suits you, both are good schools. By local reputation, DVI is very faith oriented and Rosendale is quite arty/alternative. I would guess that most people would be drawn to one or the other on looking around.

Dreaming of a holiday in Greeece - but which island!?

Skiathos is lovely but maybe a bit too quiet for a teen. Super easy journey, from the plane landing to being in a cafe by the harbour felt like about 5 minutes. -
This stuff worked brilliantly on me. https://www.laroche-posay.co.uk/lipikar-baume-ap

Karate kid? Just watched it with our 8 year old & he was a bit scared at first & then loved it.

Thank you for sharing Saffron. It's beautifully written and so true & wise about the flip side of the belief that we can heal ourselves of anything if we try hard enough. I really struggled with that belief when I had preeclampsia and felt huge guilt over it. Very moving.

Recommendations for camp sites in France?
scareyt replied to AnnieT's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We stayed in this site alongside a little river that?s a tributary of the Dordogne and it was really lovely. http://www.campingmaisonneuve.com/campsite-france-dordogne.html There is a swimming pool but we didn?t use it because you can swim in two swimming holes in the river which had the cleanest clearest water and was just stunning. All the kids buy or bring a big rubber ring to float down the river on. It?s quite small but we liked that and it?s walking distance to a little village with a bakery & a good butcher for barbecues and a canoe hire place for trips on the Dordogne. Our only child who is a bit shy did find it slightly hard to make friends though. But it?s very friendly in general and lots of the other campers go back every year. -
Hi, I would like to reactivate an old PTA user account - the user name is F@B and it's linked to the email [email protected] I have pressed the send new password link but haven't received anything to that email email address. Is the account expired? It hasn't been used for a couple of years. But it also won't let me open a new account using that email address. I would be very grateful if you can help. Thank you!

Family Camping Tips for toddler and baby
scareyt replied to IvySnail's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We first went when our son was three. The first few times he wriggled off his air bed and ended up on the ground several times during the night. Now I tuck a huge fleece blanket from Amazon across the top of all the air beds like a sheet so there are no gaps between them to slide off into. It's much much better and the blanket also makes a nicer surface than the air beds themselves. We also now put him on the middle air bed so he can't roll off and end up half under an air bed at the side of the tent. He's very wriggly!
