  1. A recommendation for Roger at Critter Solutions, who came out at 8.30am the evening after a call to deal with a hornets nest in the loft. He was super efficient, and totally lovely. A very nice man indeed. He is on 0208 355 1913
  2. Hello, We're away for a few days over Easter (14th-18th) and need someone to feed/water our two cats. Does anyone's reasonably sensible teenager fancy earning 10 quid a day to pop in once a day (a very reasonable 50 quid in total)? We live up the end of Goodrich road by Donkey Alley. Let me know! 3. It?s interesting that people tend to make a free speech defence on the assumption they are an important dissenting voice. Rarely do people acknowledge that they may just be an idiot. As is the case here.
  4. Hello, I wanted to share some thoughts on this. I?ve made an objection to the development, which can be found on the website here: https://planning.southwark.gov.uk/online-applications/files/159ADB1017F19095B01577DC1ECC25E4/pdf/20_AP_1133-OBJECTS-876057.pdf There really should be no way this application passes - it?s ?back-land? development which has very strict controls on it, and which this development would not meet. I set those out (or at least the main ones) in the objection above. Separately, the developer (Barry Jon De Swardt) put a very odd letter through the doors on Goodrich road yesterday. That letter included a deeply odd claim that he is developing the plot on behalf of the owner because ?of a law stating that [the owner] cannot get home care if he owns his house? and needs the money. No such law exists. The letter goes on to threaten that if the application is rejected they will be ?forced? to use it for something else. They suggest storage and garages, a workshop, or static homes. It?s a totally crude threat, since all of those uses seem to need planning permission too. Final point. In his letter, the developer says that he?s ?not a developer?. I suppose it?s a question of definitions but Companies House records show he was a director of In Out Projects Ltd, whose business is listed as ?41100 - Development of building projects?. Perhaps Barry forgot to say ?anymore?. I attach his letter to this post. This is a terrible development, which will damage existing family homes, totally out of character for the area, which is being forced through by a man who..well. If you want to object you can do it here: https://planning.southwark.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=Q92RUFKBN3300 Or by emailing the Southwark Council Case Officer at [email protected]. You can also email the planning committee councillors whose details are here: http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/mgCommitteeMailingList.aspx?ID=119 .
  5. Dreadful. Jay Rayner wrote a piece about them a while back. I tweeted to him in an attempt to get him to pick it up. Feel free to retweet the below - maybe if there?s a bit of social media attention they might finally do something about it. I?ve complained to their complaints team the past three years and been fobbed off.
  6. Hello - this might be useful: https://business.london/invest/jobs-and-talent/
  7. I can?t remember the last time I went in and didnt find rotting food. Sunday?s treat was Parmesan with mould spots.
  8. On Friday I went into the coop and saw this packet of mango on the shelf - note it's essentially self-smoothies itself. As well it should - it's a month and a half out of date
