  1. I know little about mobiles so, regrettably, can't help you Willard. However, I just want to say how moved I am feeling over people wanting to help you. This, for me, is what life (and this forum) should be (and often are) about. I wish you luck Willard. Please could you keep us posted?

Don't be like me...just say no I ate a whole box of them... maybe time for rehab? :-$
  3. They will cost you an arm, leg and a backbone but worth every cent: Blackbird Bakery...I find their pastry light and delicious and the filling sublime.

Why do you say that, Chief? I am genuinely curious.

  9. 18,000, 20,000, or 30,000...I am trying to imagine how far those sort of numbers would stretch at CH! I'd have loved to have been at those games. The largest DH game I've attended has had figures of touching 3,000 (I think)and that felt massive to me. Thanks dc (and Doc). Doc, 1949...were you around then? :))

Not quite 20 - 30,000 but the article writes about numbers of 10,000 and 13,000 - which is not insignificant. Thanks Doc. http://thehamlethistorian.blogspot.co.uk/2010/06/famed-uk-tourists-of-nigeria.html

I attended a DH PO @ NL a few years ago where DH lost against BR on a bitterly cold/wet day. Despite the miserable score and weather, I found the atmosphere warm and friendly. I would say it is a suitable ground to which to take the kids.

  21. SEABAG!!! You auld dawg/bit of haberdashery. I thought you'd snuffed it! Delighted that, you too, are still alive. You KNOW you are part of the "old lot" so behave yourself. Muckers. MWAH.
  22. It's just you, ruffers. And that's OK. The P & Bs are very inclusive. ;-)
  23. I'm dead chuffed to receive confirmation that you - the "old lot" - have not lost your (comic) pulse. Sue, easier said than done...but I am going to step away shortly. See you all, hopefully, when my washing machine breaks down or - perhaps - when DHFC get promoted. Keep breathing! :))

However, there are many who don't share your view. People attach different meanings and values to things in life. Why do you feel the need to politicise? And how on earth can you possibly know that this forum is comprised of members that are "predomi[nantly] middle class"? I, for one, had never heard of Karl Largerfeld until today and my total wedding bill was ?30 (including bus fare). > Also to be fair, the poster didn't say she got a > discount. She said it cost nearly 5k, to make some > kind of point. The vast majority of weddings > around the world have no need of expensive > designer gowns. It a consumer con that some people > are daft enough to be sucked into. So what that the poster didn't mention the discount? Why do you say that s/he was making "some kind of point"; that is your psychological projection. And even if s/he were, so what? As for this "consumer con" that "some people are daft enough to be sucked into", well, so what? I experience you as judgemental, but so bloomin what!
