Well said. The English need to get themselves out of forelock tugging mode. The history behind it all is interesting and no doubt they bring in the tourists but apart from that there's absolutely no relevance to a modern democracy at all.

Agree, its not going to get any better at least for the next 3-4 years as services continue to be cut. Its very sad, but this area is no different to other parts of London. It may be more "pleasant" in places but there are the same underlying problems. More Police visibility on foot (rather than patrol cars) might also help. I rarely see any in London at all.
