Million Pound Drop. AMAZING SHOW
-
I have watched it three or four times now. It seems to me that they are going through the motions of appeasing the rules of engagement. At one point the guys says "I think that's a weapon" to enable him to engage but his colleague says that it isn't. They are so keen to engage "Let us fire, let us fire" which i could understand if they were in any kind of immediate dangers but clearly they aren't.

As MP says it is clear that some men, not the jorno's from reuters, are armed which means that engagement was likely. What freaks me out is how calm and collected they are. Which I guess is the training or repetition of similar situations. Maybe if it was the first time they had ever engaged then it would be a different story.

Ok - Can't see another thread on this Video and did a search which yielded no results. Sorry if it has been posted already. www.collateralmurder.com - *Disclaimer - this video shows real war footage and death and is disturbing. This raises a number of issues; Wikileaks endangering US military by revealing tactics, the current rules of engagement in a combat zone; the cover-ups of US military and dishonesty in reporting incidents of this nature. My question is; do you think it is normal for soldiers at war to be so comfortable with the actions they committ or is this video an extreme example of almost gleeful slaughter.

I must have carried 20 or so Prams up the PR stairs in the last 12 months or so.

More and more companies are making margins on flights and accomodation by offering all in 1/6/12 month trips abroad to work on a project and packaging it up. They are basically "ethical" travel agents selling a products to parents who think it is different than handing over 2k to the kids. I think travelling during a gap year can set you apart from your peers. It is also a great experience before burdening yourself with the huge debts of uni. If it were my kids, I would research charities on t'internet and find something that they are interested in. Contact them directly and sort out flight and acc. independently of any other company. Try and go with a friend if possible and factor in travelling time after that. Also always following SteveT's laudable principle to make them earn the money themselves. VSO is still going strong and has a youth programme (up to 25) and an experienced volunteer side also. Programmes like JET are also a good way of going abroad and other than flights they are self-sustainable. Personally I wouldn't give money to someone who is getting to go on holiday for a year unless I was clear that it would be spent on the project and not on the activites that Sean describes above.

This bonus thing really bugs me. The articles in the papers go on an on about the same thing. Ultimately if no bonuses were paid and the C-Suite were paid ?50k like everyone would seems to want our banks would implode on a much grander scale than has already happened.

Yeah - I'm pretty new to it all. Not been into online game since Quake 11 on the PC back in the day. So I think I will spend a few hours shouting at randoms through the TV. I've decided I am going to sing Deutschland, Deutschland uber alles (don't know the actual name of it) at the top of my voice for a bit. Then I will probably get bored and put it in the draw. Really loving Capture the Flag and I wish they had the Hardcore Cage Match not in 3rd Person - as would quite like a go at that.

MW2 is amazing. Up to 49 now - don't know how I have played it sooooo much around a full time job. Preferred is similar to yours Mockney although embarrasing that you use a grenade launcer you fooking nOOb. (Joke - I talk like them now) Right favoured setup: Scar H : Hearbeat Sensor, Silencer flash bangs Frag Favourite perks are Ninja Pro, Marathon, Commando Pro, Stopping Power, Hardline - although I rotate all the time depending on the level and can't remember which go together. Final Stand Favourite level would be Favela or ScrapYard. Although I love a huge fight on Rust. HATE Quarry more than life itself. Have you tried Search and Destory? No respawning in the level - really tense on big levels like Wasteland and Derail. All I need now is the headset, as I have my emblem as the German flag (just to wind everyone up) and have loads of 15 yr old's calling me a Nazi. Can't wait to respond in the best queens English. 12 Killstreak the other day and was in my first game that someone got a Tactical Nuke - quite funny.

I thought the whole thing was a farce. Making the whole program revolve around him just gives them more credibility and people that already feel marginalised and that they have no voice will flock to him. It would have been much better to completely ignore the BNP race issues and simply ask him about policy, NHS, Education, Transport etc that he would have been unable to answer effectively. Cassette Boy vs Nick Griffin on YouTube is very funny.

HA HA HA. Sorry if any of these have been posted before

As mentioned - depends on the contract. There should be a stipulated notice period in there for each side to give notice. Can be as little as immediate notice in some instances. Generally not a lot you can do in those situations.

For what it's worth I like the Drawing Room. Often in the lounge threads would be disrupted and messed with, off-topic and going down alleys. As a long-time predominant lurker I like following the threads in the Drawing Room. I think it is good to have the option - if the person wants the debate to remain on-track and "serious" then put it in the Drawing Room. If not then put it in the lounge. Fair play to whoever volunteers to help out and as other people have said it is early doors at the moment.

100 AHAHAHAHAHAHA ????'s in your face. Sure it took me 10 mins to find. I have nothing better to do and the England game is boring.

Suprised that no-one has mentioned the political tool that literacy levels and attendence at University can be. It is in the interest of the governement to get as many people through A Levels with good grades and into Uni to show progress. Ultimately there will be to be a standard bell-curve of ability which won't have changed since 0-Levels migrated into A-Levels. The schools job is to try and push that bell-curve as far to the right as possible. The governments job is to try and change the Axis so the bell curve appears further to the right. I also don't think that there is anything wrong with a modular based system of marking. I don't see the benefit of doing all your exams in one go at the end of the year as this encourages cramming of information and little or no anaylsis of the texts/information that you are commenting.
